A single rapids show lasts about 16 minutes. The actual summer season's rapids shows are accompanied by music from Sibelius' Karelia series.

I just wonder how great that would look in naturalstate of river ?
Alko migrating fish would raise the river !

It has been a famous tourist attraction since the late 1700s (Wikipedia). So I think it was great. Since 1929, the rapids has been blocked by a dam as the Imatra hydroelectric plant began operation.
In 2015, an Urban Brook was built on the islet between the old waterfall bed and the power plant, along which migrating fish can raise the river. Since this Urban Brook is very close to nature, many fish stay there to spawn.
