That one comment about "Korea has K-pop and Japan has J-pop, why not for Filipinos?" I absolutely agree with you. I hope some Filipinos are open-minded, and accept PPOP. Slowly but surely, kasi napakaraming talented na Pinoy, all they need is our support. Hindi naman sa pinipilit silang gustuhin, but at least appreciate them for their contributions and hard-work, mapansin lang tayo ng ibang Pinoy at buong mundo. We should be greatful that there are groups like SB19, super humble and kind, to raise our flag. Tinanggap na lahat ng paninira sa kapwa Pinoy, matulungan lang ekonomiya natin, and to make us proud and known. Thank you for this vlog, I appreciate it so much! #PPOPRISE🇵🇭🔥

Those close minded people think that if a group is under a korean management they are a kpop wannabes not knowing that there are many famous group that is under a korean company but consist of foreign members. Just like WayV, JO1 who is also under a Korean Entertainment but considered as CPOP and JPOP. I wonder why their country men are not considering them as a kpop wannabes. Because they are open minded not unlike those Filipinos who are so close minded. If those groups can, why SB19 can't?

Kaya music inspiration is free talaga

around 90s pa nabuo ang kpop while ppop if am not mistaken ay 1970s
That's the ace we can use for those closed minded pips
      Na hindi tayo gaya gaya
      Yeah
Kpop ang namamayagpag ngayon pero when it comes to vocals and music quality mas lamang talaga ang pinoy
That's the fact that no one can disagree
      Even foreign people knows that
We aren't called the land of the greatest singers for nothing

Filipinos are really hard to please especially when it comes to music. Because most filipinos are into ballads. but one thing what SB19 did was break that barrier/limit. They’ve incorporated new style of filipino sound. and it’s really interesting and at the same time am glad to see that a lot of filipinos are appreciating their music. i’ve been a fan of SB19 ever since their go up dance practice went viral. and since then, i’ve been following their journey. and am really proud of their achievements. i know it wasn’t that easy for them. I just hope they stay humble and keep doing what they’re doing - creating such good music. and I appreciate your channel for doing this 👍

    • @ranmaringo2428
      @ranmaringo2428 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Definitely agree with you. SB19 pushed the limit and gave OPM a new music style. I grew up listening to R&b, soul, American boy bands and oh how I wished and hoped that Philippines will produce a boy/girl group that has the same flavor of Western music while incorporating our own. We have so many talented kababayan who can sing dance but, in my opinion, our music industry failed to invest on those talents and only invest on artists who are “visual” ready. For k-pop their country backs them up they’ve invested so much, they hire people in the US or from other countries who can help produce songs that is on par with the western music.

I know an American who is now an avid fan of OPM artists like Zack Tabudlo, Adie & The Juans. & she got to know them through SB19, she is following and reacting to SB19 songs way back but is now also into OPM.
SB19 is opening doors and paving the way not just for PPOP but OPM itself on an international scale. I don't think Entertainment companies like Star Magic, Viva Entertainment etc, wouldn't invest in training and debuting new generation of PPOP groups if it wasn't for SB19's success.
They really were the trailblazers of PPOP.
Their music & performances are top tier, I know that if they break into the US mainstream, I'm confident that they can keep up with international artists.
Good Luck, SB19! WE GO UP!

      YES TO THIS.
They were the one who took all the first shots from close minded Filipinos, the media, & bashers, calling them "kpop wannabes" but look at them now, their bashers became their fans, every achievement they gets written in articles & covered by local news outlets, and young Filipinos WANNABE like them.
THEIR JOURNEY IS INSPIRING & THEY ARE JUST BEGINNING.

Totoo. Tama lang siguro na theyre being considered as "P-POP KINGS" cause they paved the way for Philippine pop to flourish. OPM sakalam!

    Honestly
Filipinos should be proud that Philippines has SB19
a group consisting of a very talented individuals
    5 rapper, singer and dancer
For me na nagkaroon ng mataas na standard when it comes to music because of SB19
I can say that in this world full of idol groups
SB19 ang may pinaka nakakabilib na vocals
    Each member has distinct voice
    And hey
Wala pakong nakikita na main vocalist ng isang boygroup be it international group or ppop group na pwedeng makatalo sa vocals ng isang Stell Ajero
    And the harmonization?
    Superb👌💙

What’s unique about SB19 is that this brand of pop music is geared towards younger generations, however they have managed to attract multi-generational admirers. In the video, mostly younger people were shown but many of their fans are people in their 40’s and even much older.

Im one of those cashuals who two years ago had been hearing about them but kept ignoring since pusong metal ako 😅(rak en rol). And finally as i gave them a chance, i got hooked instantly. That's how good they are, me as so picky sa music, they made me like them. I even berated myself for not paying much attention on them since the first time that i've seen them on tv, di sana kasama ako sa A'tin noon na sobrang fulfilling ang nararamdaman ngayon.

Let’s not boxed the OPM as ballad, indie bands, etc. Malawak ang OPM and if nabibigyan ng SB19 ng new face yung OPM, then why not? They could open doors naman to make other artists known din all over the world. Ang mahalaga, they successfully penetrated OPM - PPOP to the international music scene and sunod sunod nayan. Just like sa mga collabs nila, yung mga international fans, hindi nila alam dati ang Ben&Ben and now may idea na sila about their songs and all, so they dive deeper into the OPM until they discover TheJuans, and many more OPM artists. 💖💖
I love the this kind of honest interview since we could really see different POV’s to the subject matter.
I’m happy to see KAIA sa duloo!! 😍💖 Another video to look forward to. Thank you for this El’s Planet 💜💜💜

And the fact na they just don't want to do what they love but also one of their main goal is to help our economy, for the betterment of our country
For other people who have a crab mentality
Sb19 are being delusional whenever they say that through them, through ppop we can achieve a better future
But we all know that it is possible, not being delusional but being optimistic and goal driven
      SB19 knows that they can
Nalagpasan na nila yung pinaka mahihiral na phase sa buhay nila just to be where they are

What made me stan SB19 apart from their music is their goals for the country. I used to be a big kpop fan (mostly 2nd gen artists and soloists) and I hoped for a group like them in my own country. What attracted me the most was their, yun nga, goal para sa economy. Because of them, I came to appreciate my roots and supported local more. When I purchase something, I sometimes make sure that it's made locally. In that way, I feel like I can support local businesses especially the small ones.
Music-wise, they have this distinct sound among Ppop groups and OPM in general. They're really putting into action their name "sound break". I grew up surrounded by mainstream OPM sound (biritera/biritero, mostly revivals, mga banda w/c is my most favorite until i met esbi), and honestly, naumay ako, that's why I stuck with kpop. Meeting SB19 was a breath of fresh air for me. Pablo's song writing skill is really something. He is truly a gem in this generation's music scene. SB19, collectively, is a treasure. There is something about their music that makes you always go back to it even their old releases. Hindi madali pagsawaan. 💙

As a filipino, I don't fancy OPM and not into music that much (because OPM has this melodramatic rhythm which I can't relate on) .
But after hearing SB19 music, I learn how to appreciate the meaning of a song And learn to love OPM. before I only listen to Jpop, but now all my playlist song is OPM. I also got to know other artist like Ben and Ben, the Juan, zack Tabuldo, Arthur Nery, and other artist, Which is weird because I don't know them and I just know them this year because of SB19 (since I just got to know SB19 this January 2022), and yep I love OPM na!
SB19 also inspire me to sing and dance, I'm not a dancer but their music makes me dance, Especially Mana, and Bazingga which is pretty new to my ears since its far from the one I listen.

Thank you El's Planet for featuring SB19. Just my take on PPOP. Ppop has been around since even when jpop and kpop was booming, it's just that ppop wasnt totally recognized or i'd say 'named/branded' as 'ppop' until SB19 came into the spotlight who paved its way and gave PPOP its rightful name. Then a lot of ppop groups were formed. It's just so happen that kpop is quite mainstream right now, ppop may have some influences from kpop but know that kpop has a greater influence from jpop and western pop. Their music and hairstyles are the most common example of 'borrowed influences', say no pure blooded asian is purely blonde or redhead unless he/she has mutation or inherited a genetic condition from his/her western ancestors, you know what i mean.. Having colored or dyed hair does not always associate with 'being into kpop' or copying kpop. Japanese actually trended it first in asia, crazy hairstyle & colors, you know anime' thing which they incorporate in their music. The original inspiration of colored/dyed hair hairstyle was from Western countries. Music is universal, every single thing that exists right now be it in music, arts or other form of cultural representation is all an influence of the past, lets say that what we have now is an 'upgrade.' I just hope for more pinoys to be more openminded and reduce crab mentality, that instead of being 'pinoise,' lets be more patriotic and protect our very own PH talents, that we got this too. At least, support them in any ways we possibly can. The music industry is thriving again in the PH, surely gradually helping the economy as what SB19s mission, their goal is for us to be united and to raise each other up. Undoubtedly pinoys are talented and musically gifted, sure ppop is quite new for some but lets take a deep dive into it, have it a go, look into it, ppop also needs to be acknowledged, recognized and accepted just like other music genre.. as OUR OWN. Proof of this is the growing number of SB19 and other ppop group's fanbase, also a proof that PH can do it too. As Pinunong Pablo said there's strength in numbers, let's take advantage of that. With that i can see that PH, in time.. could also have a rightful respected throne on the international stage for PPOP. ☺️💙

Omg, as an A'tin watching this video, this totally warms my heart. I know that SB19 is not everyone's cup of tea but all we are asking for is just respect. If you don't like them, you don't need to drag them down. I'm just glad that more casuals are giving them a chance coz I know all SB19 wants is to lift our country's economy thru their music and tbh, that is very refreshing kasi I've been alive for 20+ years yet that is the first time that I heard an artist say that that is their goal. Most artist I know just wants to share their talent and follow their passion. Basta SB19 until the end!

Kpop wouldn't exist without Jpop, American pop and hip hop. Let's not forget that they are also influence of American boy bands. Music is universal.Everyone csn make music and no one can claim it but do give respect to the pioneers that started or influence genres.
Pinoys need to support their own. I've noticed that foreign songs are heard there EVERY WHERE but OPM isn't as widely played. Learn from koreans that raise their flags to support their own. Pinoys lack that. Don't copy but take good positive aspects to make your own.

I'm an A'Tin pero I feel like hindi pa talaga ganun ka mainstream or household name levels ang SB19 in terms of popularity. Although "MAPA" was undeniably a massive hit, marami ang mga walang idea na SB19 pala ang kumanta nito (minsan nga di nila alam na MAPA ang title). All I can say is slowly but surely though, they are carving their own name in the music industry and in time, the majority of Filipinos will finally get to recognize and appreciate them for the world-class talent and abilities that they clearly possess. Magaling talaga sila. People just need to know them more!

If you are speaking at a specific age group or generation, yes hindi pa sila household name such as VST & Co (late 70s), Gary V (80s), Streetboys (90s - dancing), Eraserheads (mid 90s), Sexbomb Girls (2000s) kahit pa nominee na sila sa Billboard.

Agree dipa talaga household name ang SB19. Pag sinabi kasing household name iyong kahit dika fan or you're not into ppop kilala mo sila or naririnig mo palagi name nila. I'm not into socmed and music kasi before but because of SB19, when I became their fan last year feel ko updated nako sa iba't ibang music artist ngayon hahaha.

They are slowly getting there. At least they have lots of fans all around the world. Di man ramdam ng karamihan ngayon ang popularity talaga nila. Eventually they will realize it how big they are. Now the pandemic restrictions is lifted. They will shock everyone like what happen on Wish Bus performance. We will see on their comeback nalang. Di sila household or mainstream yet coz PPOP GENRE is still on the process to be establish in the Philippines. Mostly Filipino is into Ballads/hiphop.

    • @mrscitrine3592

@@yolo5685 but lots of Filipinos are massive kpop fans. Sb19 is not kpop what I mean is the synchronized dancing nandoon na, bakit titingin pa sa Ibang foreign boy groups. In terms of singing mas magaling pa sila compared sa any kpop dyan na iniidolo, spending thousands for tickets and merchandise. But visual oriented kasi ang marami dyan and East Asian ang iniidolo. So I think Sb19 should tap on the over a million overseas Filipinos, go have overseas concerts and work on the foreign fans. Sb19 has so much passion and such good hearts they will continue to be blessed. God is good all the time

    Question no.1
    - Well, my first thought would automatically picture Stell, Ken, Justin, Josh and Pablo, pero first ko sila nakita nung pag labas nung "Go up". kasi ni recommend ni TH-cam, and I was like, "Oh a boy group nanaman, please lang na di sana katulad nung ibang nauna na di consistent sa overall chorography and performance". But then when I see their official music video, I was like "oohh nice, galing sabaysabay sa pagsayaw". then sa dance practice nila nakita ko ung hardwork nila. then I said to my self na follow ko nga sila I want to see what's next. Though I wish I was one of the A'tin, na nakita ung talagang simula nila, overall, when I think of SB19, I remember their shared stories of failure or almost giving up their dreams, but thankfully they never give up and thanks narin sa mga sumuporta sa journey nila mula pa't simula. Now We have SB19 the PPOP KINGS!!!.
    Question no. 2
    - Now, SB19 is really known locally and internationally, thanks to our A'tin's support na nag spread talaga yung name ng SB19, but also SB19 got the overall package eh, I mean they can sing and dance and write catchy songs/lyrics but not only that SB19 really is passionate about their work and artestry, even though they are popular today and hopefully more in the future, SB19 is also humble towards everyone and that is what I think tumatak sa isipan ng mga tao, it is also part of their charm. and overall, they are now really popular napunta na nga internationally eh, and they are now influencing the youngsters but as well their families and also the new-gen of Ppop groups na umuusbong ngayon go #PPOP-RISE!
    Question no. 3
    - Well, WHY NOT diba, they are the face of Ppop today, and not only because of their gain popularity and influences globally but because of their achievements na contribute para sa larangan ng OPM and Ppop specifically (also the economy nga diba), though OPM is more in a broader sense. but then they are the face of Ppop Idol group because they have a what it takes to take on the title, I mean SB19 is now being recognized internationally because they have the "It-Factor" na kung tawagin. I think they deserve it.

Actually nabanggit ng SB19 before nung tinanong sila about sa training
there's no really such thing as kpop idol training system na ginawa sa kanila
Like walang special or different na training
