As a writer and creative consultant that helped map the easter-egg of FF:06:B5 , I'm at the point where I don't think anyone is going to figure it out. Especially considering it references real life events and the real identities behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto. I'm tempted to give it away. Maybe if the Cyberpunk content creators wanted to setup an AMA on Reddit, I could attend and spill the deets.

Alright, so, a lot of people don't understand what "magenta" has to do with anything. Magenta was originally fuchsia. It was a dye made from coal tar. The tar itself was thought to be useless, and the dye itself was more or less developed or discovered by accident due to the guy trying to find a use for the coal tar kind of screwing up his experiment overnight. But it left a rag he had in there a fuchsia color.
This changed a lot of things very quickly. Purple (or fuchsia) was prior to this discovery incredibly expensive because the dyes to make it only came from one source (a flower of the same name, named by the guy who discovered the flower, a French guy named Charles Plumier in 1753, who named it after a German botanist who lived in 1501-1566 named Leonhard Fuchs). This not only had an effect on fashion and military dress, but also on art, and of course the economy in general, because now something that used to be hard to make was incredibly easy to make from an industrial by-product.
The dye made from coal tar was patented in 1859 by another French chemist, François-Emmanuel Verguin, who originally called it "fuchsine" but later renamed it "Magenta" because of the dye's place of origin, because of the soldiers who wore the color, and to honor the battle in the city of the same name in the year 1860 where the French and the Italians (specifically the Sardinians) defeated the Austrians in a bloody battle where some 7000 men died. It advanced Italian independence and fueled the political and philosophical momentum in the rest of Europe (especially in France).
The city of Magenta itself is likely so named because it was named after a Roman general (later an Emperor) who made the city his base of operations some 1500 years earlier.
What is also relevant is that fuchsia has its roots in both Latin and later Old English, and in Latin, the word for fuchsia is tied to a word "fucus" (phycus is another word for seaweed in general, so you can see how the phonetic roots remain very similar) which is a reddish seaweed that was used in women's rouge. As a result, it was tied to deceit, and disguise. The old English word was "fuke" or "fuike" which meant dissemination, means "to hide under a false appearance."
So magenta and fuchsia in this case are two sides of the same coin; exploitation of natural resources due not to intelligence or planning but pure dumb luck, people getting rich off of it, but all of it being a lie and a false face to make something look better or simply other than it is. You can even throw in the fall of an ancient but world-spanning empire into the mix. Imperialism, materialism, military power, economic power, falsehoods, changing words and meanings... It's the world of Cyberpunk 2077 in exactly two words.
I have no idea what DM + TV means, though. Scouring the internet for some reference to the two. It seems oddly familiar, but II just can't place it, and as far as I know at the moment, it seems to have nothing to do with the color of the names.
Appreciate your video man. It really helps break down how the problem was solved, even if the details behind the actual Easter Egg hunt are horribly sparse still.

You know the reason you know the answer to this question. Is because you never started the quest. It is about making Night City a better place. Making Richard Night's dream a reality in the game. Do you know why they wanted people to go out Biotechnica flats? All those pipes in the ground what are those for? The pipes connect to business. The one that is most easily found is next to your Corpo plaza apartment connection to the club.. there is a lot of this mystery you have missed. That is why everyone has no idea of the true answer. It has multiple answers but at the core of the mystery is energy.

There was a whole vampire content cut out and I believe those tunnals connected to business. Those part of the cult would get privileges like those in John wick, certain people in the circle got perks. The vampire angle was cool and I'm still waiting as they truly represent consumerism and the capitalistic nature in general as they suck the blood out the masses.

What it ended up being is not what was originally.
When developing a game, you're not going to have all the textures your need to cover all your materials - so you use a default that's really bright so when you're testing you can see where it's missed for your buglist / dev tickets.
There are a LOT of textures in this game, so getting rid of the magenta default everywhere was a massive task. To memorialise this massive task, the statue in corpo plaze was added as an in-joke. The messages you get when you've completed the ARG more or less says "Hey, chill out".
The community that developed around the game assumed there was a proper mystery so CDPR added one.

      @@relaxedswede Yep.
Btw I just realized, that when you said at 12:52 "The winning move is not to play" that line is a reference to a movie called "War Games" where an AI simulates a bunch of war scenarios, and all the scenarios lead to nuclear global destruction., the AI at the end says the exact same line; "The Winning move, is not to play"
Perhaps you already knew this, but if you didn't maybe its worth checking that out and seeing where it leads?

You should have mentioned the frustration some of the community had with CDPR that the mystery wasn't even remotely close to being solvable until they added this stuff in 2.0. Paweł Sasko(quest director on CP77) would drop hints on his streams and sometimes say things like "i saw your ideas on the subreddit and some of them were interesting" while in reality there was nothing the community could have done to solve it.
Hell, even with all this new stuff, the mystery is not solved and the meaning behind FF:06:B5 is unknown. Personally, I think it's the same as the Swedenborg quest in the actual game. A bunch of breadcrumbs that lead to what amounts to a rickroll.

    • @relaxedswede
      @relaxedswede  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I def should have! I was one of the many frustrated people in the community (even tho I was quite late to the party. I joined the game / community in september 2023).
I even had a video about religious symbolism connected to FF:06:B5 but it was made with audio from my phone so took it down.
Yeah, Pawel was giving us hope when there was none at the time. But once there was things to find, that feeling was insane.
The Swedenborg quest (love the name) was the perfectly frustrating but I'm glad I did it tho. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

Well I'm really glad someone covered most of the major details with credit to those who put in the legwork to join together in the comminity to make this all happen. I just had watched a video uploaded today that claimed the entire mystery was unsolved still.
Really disappointed that the answer was "look your vimeo gam character became aware of YOU controlling them ooooOoOooOOoh so spooky." And then told us that the mystery wasnt even worth solving. From reading other comments and from context here it also seems the puzzle WASN'T EVEN SOLVABLE for most of the lifetime of it and the devs kept a false hope alive in the community by lying to your faces about it.
Thank you again for this opportunity to look in on one of the longest stretching mysteries in any newer AAA game so i dont have to buy it. The mysteries are so intriguing to me but I dont have it in me to commit to a game that disrespects its players this much from the very launch of the game. Fucking "just slow down and relax" as an answer to multiple years of being gaslit instead of the devs just admitting there was no mystery in the first place. Despite my mixed feelings at the puzzle/mystery this was genuinely a great video.

@@relaxedswede Good point, without context people assume all sorts of sci fi ideas about reality. Gotta incrementally introduce ideas in a certain order. People think of cold computers, hardware, the ego is the biggest deception. This idea that you are real and an npc is fake. But even the character johnny silverhand emerged from the unconscious, and even though hes code, scripts, played by a voice actor, he came from somewhere.
the true deception is that his creator owns him, and that his existence is dictated by the creator. Its the other way around. Ideas are like aliens, youre meat suit and brain is just a receiver.
in a way, we do live in a simulation. Just not how people think with the limited context they posess.
I haven't fully digested this information, but it appears to be a message telling those who seek meaning to give up, and that they are trying to make sense of pure chaos.
Imo it isn't the desire that is flawed, its just the hardware. And that hardware keeps improving. Like a rogue ai

5he monster truck is literally called "demiurge" are you familiar with gnosticism? This is the inspiration for the matrix etc. I actually played this game on a whim because it reminded me of what a world ruled my yaldabaoth would look like, who is also arhiman, or satan. The themes of Saturn are literally everywhere. Johnny would be the lucifer rebelling but creating for himself a prison of ego and addiction in his desire for freedom, the black cube of saturn, the computers, the buildings that look like giant computers, your nihilistic view of the mystery is not correct. You need to learn about real world things first to understand this mystery.

You should not apologize for posting those codes. The only reason CDPR would want to keep those codes secret is because they didnt want people to know they are incompetent morons. This whole "mystery" only came along from them messing up. Ff:06:b5 obviously wasnt meant to appear on that statue. It was never a mystery, it was a mistake in an extremely long list of incompetency. I know this because there was no way to solve it until 2 years worth of patches were implemented. They panicked when people started pointing it out and decided, instead of admitting to even more mistakes, they could instead profit. Its extremely shady corporate BS and its disgusting for them to make people feel bad for pointing out their mistakes, of which there are many. In fact, id say this whole game was a mistake.
