I'm going through this now with my 2018 impala premier. Unreal with such a new car. I also had my transmission dropped twice for shifting issues. Luckily that was dealer warranty work. Nice work on the removal of the dashboard.
Thats really alot of work and effort. I have Impala 2015, if it happened they open the dashboard then I would sure hate my car. Im not an engineer, but I believe there is really a large amount of stupidity from GM to place the evaporator there and causing a full dashboard opening! Car maintenance should be more easier!
If I have to design a car, I sure think I can make the center dash easier to remove - the whole dash as 2 pieces so the driver side doesn't need to come off.
Thanks for the video. It solidified the fact that I don’t want to do this job. I searched around some more and found that this is a know issue in some Impalas 2016-2018 with the 3.6L V6 and is covered for 6 years or 72k miles. Google N182186881-01 - Special Coverage and it lays everything out.
I have a 2015 chevy impala. 3.6L Whiled parked we smelt some burnt rubber and then our ac went out. Nothing but warm air. I hope this isnt the problem.
I just found out my 2017 Impala Premier with only 31k miles on it has a leak so I'll be going through the same. I wonder how many extra screws will be left over🤔🫣

The bad thing is that this problem is under recall on "Some" Chevy Impala s and Chevy has refused to fix all of the cars knowing this is a issue.

Nope. I have a 2018 Impala with the 3.6L and GM says they will not cover it because the vin is not showing it. I do not understand.
I got a 2012 impala Ltz 70000 miles perfect car. I was thinking about trading and getting the last model ltz of this body style NOT NOW. Wow
My gosh all of this to charge one part for a new replacement wow. Old school Chevy impala like 1980s was the best ever made.
