Just the blatant audacity of being so lawless and treacherous (The ANC and their counterparts). Morals and values, speaking against despicable behaviour - causes one to be scoffed at, ostracized and even worse - murdered, following threats I presume and the cocky "show us the proof" boastings. May every evil, greedy person placed in somewhat of a position of power, with the ability to bring about change - be pursued by God's wrath and all the plagues in existence. I pray Mr Andre remains safe and continues exposing their filth

I sometimes wonder if people fully understand the extent of rot the in the ANC. These people are devil incarnate. They are evil to the core. The ANC since its inception ( history tells us this ) has never had an interest of South Africans at heart. The situation has deteriorated over the years and was exacerbated by their hold on state power. South Africans must wake up from their deep slumber and kick out this criminal mob out of power or else we will not have a country for our children. The time is now!!

@@jobesithole5590 That should be the catalyst to urge all of us to really fight - this is for the children. It breaks my heart that South Africans (not all) have become so desensitised to corruption and nefarious behaviours.

@@tsholofelo_NHasn't it been like this for decades?. But, people like De Reyters need to come along and fail when they've never failed before, including in their overseas high powered positions, before people can see there's something really wrong going on
De Reyters was the man to shed the light. How long will it be before the next CEO gets the same death threats, the same cyanide poisoning attempts on his life?
Those involved are used to easy money now, how will they change their game? Or will the game just go as it did before De Reyters arrived?

Marcelo, we are drowning in corruption. The ANC which is currently in power is dragging us all to hell. It's a criminal entity whose sole interest is to steal and lie all the time. Our country has become a mafia state with rampant crime where civilians are murdered daily. It's a hopeless situation. My appeal to fellow South Africans is that we rise up and save our country or else the future of our children is not guaranteed.

Mandela's greatest mistake was not expelling Whites then, now we living with Cancer, Zimbabwe is getting back up slowly and rest of African states were in civil war to regain they independence only us we just delayed the inevitable, until crimes of the past are dealt with same way we give criminal ANC energy this country will never know peace. I hope black people vote ANC out our vote matters most as majority, I will take a chance with Action SA or that coloured guy but never ever will I vote The DA who refuse to share land with everyone in SA would rather vote for EFF before DA. It is revenge time that has been quietly condone by the ruling regime and wherever it is possible it has been implement. Consequences are over viewed. The focus is on practicing political correctness. People of right colour are positioned on the work places way beyond their knowledge, experience and expertise. And moral standards.
If you try to OPENLY address issues you are RACIST.
Until changes come, SA is heading to its own END.
And, frankly speaking, it is not going to ever change.
The mentality of every African individual, regardles of the level of sophistication, is united in their resentment and despise of Europeans. They would rather be together on the sinking ship then live in mutually beneficial symbiosis.

    Excellent interview!
From a brave, honourable, intelligent and ethical person
It is such a shame that he was not wasn’t given the support and protection to continue in his job as Eskom CEO
It is obvious he exposed the corruption and was making headway in stopping it and monitoring procurement which the thieves didn’t like
He is truly a patriotic South African and does not come across as racist, merely a South African with good ideas in protecting the country’s economy and environment in years to come
The ideas about giving back water to South Africans and exposing why no attempts to invest in such wise projects says it all about some people in power.
They don’t care about their fellow South Africans and are just there to line their own pockets
    Very sad indeed
Thank you Mr de Ruyter for giving up all you did to try to right the wrongs at Eskom and for the ordinary South African
