The 220 is one of the best versatile machines in India. Stunning and sharp looks, excellent performance for the price-to-pay ratio. I still regret selling my 220 even though I myself currently own a Duke 390. The memories, the emotions with that machine, simply nothing can match. :)
Hero engineer's work like ITI passed workers' they lost value of Karizma R which gave company some respect in public as they could at least have increased power 4-5 HP could have been an achievement for Hero's ITI workers' This downfall of Karizma R is due to company negligence & lack of passion towards such legendary bike
Actually the back view of Karizma is very appealing,thanks to the fatter tires with open mudguard,the side views are also very appealing for the sharp & straight edges,it's only the front view that looks somewhat odd but that also only at daytimes,because at nights the dual headlamps with the glowing dual eyebrow LEDs makes even the front view enough attractive,so overall I don't think that Karizma is a bad looking bike & that's ok for me because I don't like Pulsar 220's design very much either,at least not any more because it's just become a very common design now a days,specially it's back view which is exact same for 3 series of pulsars,when things become very common then they just lost their attraction,in that sense at least the new Karizma looks different,striking.
Yes,there is no Denying about that,the old one's front design was ageless,a decade old design & people still loved that,a design which helped to make the zma a living legend,I was really hurt when they discontinued that model,yes I understand that hero is trying to modernize the zma's design by comparing it to the ebr 1190,but somewhere they figured it wrong,they were unable to give the dashing look of ebr 1190 to zma,at least in the front view,they couldn't catch that view properly,moreover they just couldn't feel the charm of the front view of their older zma,but still I heard that the present karizmas are just a part of the stop gap method untill the hx250 is launched,probably after that they will launch new karizmas with much better front,am I right ??the zma might be decade old & it might loss the charm of it's styling,but there is no denying that no other modern day bike can give that perfect balance among performance,comfort & reliability which the age old zma still provides,& that makes the zma a living legend,Karizma Always Game.
I just completed restoration of my 2007 Karizma r on my own and seriously 😍😍 its a masterpiece . Even after 14 years it easily touches 120 kmph without any struggle ❤️❤️ and engine refinement is to the next level 😉

I am owner of karizma zmr Version 2...50000 kms. Without any complaints. Completed tour between agra and kolhapur via udaipur-baroda-mumbai in three days..it was unstoppable joy of riding... Hero as a good leadership team in India but not a pulsar is mileage bike Hero is a top of the mileage And 220 is ofter 3 years & 4 years mileage is down... Not for hero karizma r v2 it's osm performance it's fuchar days. 👍
riden both bikes back to back and i own one karizma 2014 model as shown in the video....guyz tried and tested result opinion , karizma is very good bike..pulsar tend to vibrate more on high speed but this problem is not with karizma plus seats are very cushiony..the main draw back is that hero is not offering rear disc ... but overall its a very good bike ...i sold my 220 den i bought karizma r red in color...so both the bikes are good....but a karizma engine is very mature in power delivery...and love doing 120 130kmph on highways....... cheers
Ok. Motorbeam Can u Plz Plz suggest few bikes preferably less than 150 kgs for a spine-friendly touring comfort.. I am 26, 5'9 , 65 kgs AND have ankylosing spondilytis which causes neck and back pain easily. And would mono-suspension be better than a dual for back issues.. (non heavy cus i cannot lift things that are too heavy)

Hi guys..You had made my decision of buying the p220 way too easier as I was confused between p220 n zmr 2014..:D So I bought it and my p220 reads 1250 on the odo now..It has been run-in quite well with gear shifts in the range of 3-4k rpm in the first 500 kms and then progressively increasing them to 5-6k rpm. Max Speed I rode it to was 75 kmph. The bike runs buttery smooth, no vibs while riding it properly with good gear shifts, has no starting trouble, accelerates pretty fast and is a pleasure to ride overall.I have a query though. When I try to max out gears ie. Increasing the throttle beyond 6k rpm in 1st/2nd gear the bike starts to vibrate a lot especially on the footpegs , near the tank(not the fairing vibration as found on many p220s) and also the front visor. It's sound also changes dramatically and sounds as if It's hurting the bike(This is the first bike I am riding so maybe I'm not used to that sound and havent rode any other bikes thoroughly as such ). Is this normal and should I rev it further to achieve the top speed or is there some fault in the machine ? Thanks and Regards... PS : As I had to bring the bike from my hometown to pune, I changed it's engine oil on 250 kms itself as opposed to the 1000 kms recommended oil change. Refilled it with Bajaj 10000 semi synthetic 20w50 grade oil. So can this vibration thing be a problem due to the oil ? And If so Should I opt for MOTUL 5100 15w50 semi synthetic oil next time as it is the perfect oil for p220 recommended by many ardent pulsarmaniacs ?
Varad Vishwarupe firstly congratulations on your new bike which is also your first bike ;-) The vibration issue is normal with new Pulsars, get it serviced and opt for fully synthetic oil, as you put in more kms, the engine will become smoother. Don't rev the nuts out of it just yet.
Naa , karizma is still better , it has more torque and is delivered 1.5 k rpm earlier than the pulsar which gives it more punch , 220 feels sluggish in city traffic it needs to be continuously revved , karizma is quicker in 0 to 60 and just marginally slower than in 0 to 100. karizma also have better towing capacity so riding with a Pelion rider is just effort less , the karizma chassis frame with its engine being a stress member part gives bike better stiffens and mass distribution , while the cradle chassis in 220 is more suitable for chasing top end in long straight highway , and plz karizma instrument cluster is great simple but effective , 220 is just a fancy electronically twinkled bike , latest technology never means its better
Really confused between the two..p220 and zmr 2014..Have test rode the p220f...Amazed by its pickup, performance, suspension and stability. Didnt quite like the ns. Will be test riding zmr next week, Based on the following factors which one would you advice : 1. Looks 2. Performance, maneuvarability and ease of riding in the city 3. Preferred for commuting(I ride around 10 kms daily) 4. Have to use it for 2 yrs 5. Starting trouble should not be present (My dad says p220 has some starting problem and he opines that there should have been a kick. I have told him that these bikes have state of the art technology but he doesnt admit, may be your opinion shall convince him ! )

I am already a follower of Motorbeam website so no complaints on the content of the video...Coming to the bikes Pulsar has no obligations like Hero to use the same engine only upto 2018 so we can expect a retuned Pulsar 220 in the near future but a all new Karizma from Hero... You never know Hero might even scrap out Karizma if they can't bring a new replacement engine for it...

Manjunath K the issues you mention about Bajaj bikes is true for their older models but things have got much better now. Quality is good but not exceptional, there is a reason why KTM bikes cost more for the same performance, right? 200 NS has some vibrations but RS 200 has lesser vibrations thanks to improvement in refinement with the use of FI. Re-sale value is ok, not great.
+MotorBeam KTM Bikes cost more for same performance because :- 1) When Duke 200 was launched its exshowroom cost was 1.17 L & Pulsar 200 was 85000 in delhi 2) The difference of 32 K was because of other costly things used in Duke. 3) The Duke comes with front WP suspension that costs 22K , Pulsar's front suspension costs 4400 INR. Means around 16 k difference in cost 4) Duke has Bosch F.I while Pulsar has a carburetor it makes price diff of around 10 k 5) Duke 200 has aluminum rear swing arm & fat MRF tyres which are costly than Pulsar 200 NS. So bajaj auto has not done any major compromise in engine components. The only compromise is use of SOHC engine instead of DOHC head of Duke 200 as bajaj had to use 3 spark plugs for better F.E 6) Both Duke 200 & Pulsar 200NS has common block-piston , connecting rod , crankshaft , L&R crank case , oil filter , water pump , radiator , counter balancer , engine bearings , clutch plates. Only head & Transmission are different. So there is no compromise in engine

Orignal Karizma R was last hero by hero. Design wise new Karizma 3/10 compared to old Even if hero sold old model it would sell better Bajaj going strong with old design glad that I could get my old R before discontinued ✌️
Except 150 and 180, yes every Pulsar is the best in its category. #Pulsar 150 isn't as good as #FZ or #Gixxer. Same with the Pulsar 180, the #Apache 180 is better.
Sorry sir, but I don't agree with u, pulsar 150 is better then fz as my frnd have one fz and I find pulsar is better pickup and power than fz, yes handling of fz is good , and 180pulsar is better then apache 180, there is vibrate problem in apache , I ride apache 180 and found its vibrate too much
When you see the complete picture, quality, long term reliability, hardware, handling, ride quality, high speed stability, etc, the #FZ is better than the #Pulsar 150 which has aged a lot. #Apache 180 is better than Pulsar 180 but yes there are too many vibrations.

Have done around 2 lakh kms on my 2008 pulsar 180, not faced a single issue with engine, and finally, any day, it can beat any of the similar offerings of hero..
firstly der r lot of mistakes in diss video & to say definetly both r matched , soory all three r matched zmr , r & p220 . i have driven all 3 for considerable amount of time like years . de latest r & zmr r very best dan previous generations , people get for looks bt ride & performance are far beyond p220 . even thoug i have p220 i can clearly say ZMR stands above all except for little tweaks & non adjustable settings in p220. i clearly wanna say dat motor beam & power drift is nt updating at all , its 2018 & i feel funny for deir stupidity way back dan.
It all depends how you maintain your bike, which engine oil you use and tyre pressure also and many other factors.. My pulsar 180 reaches 143 km/h, i feel bad for you

New Karizma has lost the charm of the ZMA.
I heard a lot that these bajaj bikes needs lots of maintenance especially after 10k,cheap materials used, don't have durability and all. is that true? and also what about vibrations especially in 200 NS and 200 RS? and how is re-sale value of bajaj bikes? can anybody clarify my doubts?
Manjunath K the issues you mention about Bajaj bikes is true for their older models but things have got much better now. Quality is good but not exceptional, there is a reason why KTM bikes cost more for the same performance, right?
200 NS has some vibrations but RS 200 has lesser vibrations thanks to improvement in refinement with the use of FI. Re-sale value is ok, not great.

Manjunath K make sure to run it in and opt for fully synthetic oil.
+MotorBeam KTM Bikes cost more for same performance because :-
1) When Duke 200 was launched its exshowroom cost was 1.17 L & Pulsar 200 was 85000 in delhi
2) The difference of 32 K was because of other costly things used in Duke.
3) The Duke comes with front WP suspension that costs 22K , Pulsar's front suspension costs 4400 INR. Means around 16 k difference in cost
4) Duke has Bosch F.I while Pulsar has a carburetor it makes price diff of around 10 k
5) Duke 200 has aluminum rear swing arm & fat MRF tyres which are costly than Pulsar 200 NS. So bajaj auto has not done any major compromise in engine components. The only compromise is use of SOHC engine instead of DOHC head of Duke 200 as bajaj had to use 3 spark plugs for better F.E
6) Both Duke 200 & Pulsar 200NS has common block-piston , connecting rod , crankshaft , L&R crank case , oil filter , water pump , radiator , counter balancer , engine bearings , clutch plates. Only head & Transmission are different. So there is no compromise in engine

1) Yes, Pulsar's engine is refined but not as much as the Karizma's.
2) Prices have come down a bit but still not as cheap as Bajaj.

Except 150 and 180, yes every Pulsar is the best in its category. #Pulsar 150 isn't as good as #FZ or #Gixxer. Same with the Pulsar 180, the #Apache 180 is better.

Sorry sir, but I don't agree with u, pulsar 150 is better then fz as my frnd have one fz and I find pulsar is better pickup and power than fz, yes handling of fz is good , and 180pulsar is better then apache 180, there is vibrate problem in apache , I ride apache 180 and found its vibrate too much
When you see the complete picture, quality, long term reliability, hardware, handling, ride quality, high speed stability, etc, the #FZ is better than the #Pulsar 150 which has aged a lot.
#Apache 180 is better than Pulsar 180 but yes there are too many vibrations.

Have done around 2 lakh kms on my 2008 pulsar 180, not faced a single issue with engine, and finally, any day, it can beat any of the similar offerings of hero..
Pulsar is trash bike.hero is hero.its reality pulsar engine is poor.

firstly der r lot of mistakes in diss video & to say definetly both r matched , soory all three r matched zmr , r & p220 . i have driven all 3 for considerable amount of time like years . de latest r & zmr r very best dan previous generations , people get for looks bt ride & performance are far beyond p220 . even thoug i have p220 i can clearly say ZMR stands above all except for little tweaks & non adjustable settings in p220. i clearly wanna say dat motor beam & power drift is nt updating at all , its 2018 & i feel funny for deir stupidity way back dan.

It all depends how you maintain your bike, which engine oil you use and tyre pressure also and many other factors.. My pulsar 180 reaches 143 km/h, i feel bad for you
