I was just discussing this with my son late last night! He even asked about free will after death, in Heaven. This video just came up on my phone this morning, and I've been listening while getting ready for my day. I was so stunned and excited when, near the end, you addressed th very question about free will in Heaven and the angels! I pray God brings me safely back home today, and keeps my son safe and well, so I can show him this video this evening!! Please pray for him. He's my oldest, 27, a Christian, but has not been attending more than literally maybe twice a year for the past few years. We had a great discussion last night, and I pray every day that he will come back and be faithful. 🙏🏻 BTW, I'm a member of the church of Christ that meets at Lake Ozark, MO.
The old "who are you to question God?' line loved by Calvinists. To which I respond: I'm not questioning God - I'm questioning you and your understanding of what God said.
@Jesusisking235, Definitely you are questioning God because you don't agree with what is written.. if you agree there is no point of you asking man the same question in the scriptures in Romans..
An ancient old heresy, not started by Calvin, but rather Augustine, which he received during his Manichean days. Calvinist are so obsessed with God's sovereignty, we simply need to ask. If God is all powerful, we can't he create a free will being? Why is that impossible to do?
@vedioviswriting, Jesus revealed this doctrine of Election and Predestination in the parable of Wheat and Tares In this parable Jesus revealed that there are only two(2) kinds of people in the world. The children of God literally and the children of the devil literally, All the children of God are pre destined to be saved, and all the children of the devil are pre destined to be burned in fire.. Adam and his descendants are the children of God because Adam is a true son of God as revealed in Luke 3:38... Cain and his descendants are the children of the devil because Cain is the seed of the serpent(devil) as mentioned in Genesis 3:15... Cain is not the son of Adam, he is not included in the Genealogy of Adam in Genesis 5... Cain has his own Genealogy in Genesis 4.. all the descendants of Cain are very evil people like him... EXAMPLE of the children of the devil can be found in John 8:44 EXAMPLE of the children of God can be found in Psalm 82:6 and in Romans 8:14..
So then God is in heaven trying and trying to save people and is failing? I think it makes much more sense that it’s been decreed by Him than us making the decision
What if God isn’t “trying” to save anyone, but has already purchased the salvation for every single person, with the only caveat being that they must believe in Jesus to receive it?
I think to truly consider the Calvinist point of view, especially in regards to the sovereignty of God, one has to abandon a human-centric view of God’s intentions, God’s justice, and so on. Many people interpret God through human-centric values. I also think the Calvinist God is not one which is benevolent to and centered around humans. God is concerned with God, humans are a small part of God’s domain. It is like a farm animal believing a human’s purpose is to care for it. The farm animal is a small part of a part of the human master’s life.
@normmcinnis4, The Calvinists are right that after the fall our free will is not totally free because it is influence by our sin nature which we inherited from Adam...
John Calvin was not "the head of the stream" I immediately know how this is going as soon as someone misrepresents a position. Many men taught this prior to Calvin.
How can you freely choose God ? Humans are incapable of freely choosing God & maintaining that walk without God firstly initiating that process. Dont you understand what jesus meant in Mathew 19:25 ? Jesus in another verse explains the process in John 3:5
@corryriley So when Peter told Jesus he was the son of the living God in Mathew 16:17 and Jesus response was flesh & blood has not revealed this to you but my father in heaven". How do you interpret that verse ? It's clear the only way Peter could have ever seen /recognized the significance of Jesus was by God firstly showing/revealing that to Peter. There is no other way in interpret that verse, please ide like to hear you get creative as possible to downplay it.
@@jonathandutra4831 maybe I miss understood you. God is active all the time. Look around. God is active in everything. Jesus spoke what the Father commanded (John 12:49-50). Would you say that Peter did not have a choice to proclaim that Jesus was Christ, the Son of the Living God?
@corryriley YES that's what I'm saying, That's the point Jesus was making when he told Peter that he was not the reason as to why he was even capable of making such a claim. ( Flesh & blood did NOT reveal this to you but my father in heaven did so).
I don't understand where you are going with your statement that humans are incapable of choosing God. You appear to be arguing that God chooses who will choose Him. Otherwise, God would "initiate" this process with every person.

calvinism is a lie. wake up
The old "who are you to question God?' line loved by Calvinists. To which I respond: I'm not questioning God - I'm questioning you and your understanding of what God said.
Why do you think your way of questioning someone and their interpretation of God makes them think you are questioning God?
Is it a sin to question God in the right way just because Paul used the word of Isaac children?😅
@Jesusisking235, Definitely you are questioning God because you don't agree with what is written.. if you agree there is no point of you asking man the same question in the scriptures in Romans..
Thank you brother for your hard work and study and presentation of this lesson and making Calvinism more clear to me
@user-qv8ex8pu8f, he has some errors in what he said and he is obviously anti-Calvinist..
Just pro Christian
I love your work sir! Thank you for the thorough delivery

He did create a free will being. His name was Adam.

Relationship, give it a try if you’re willing.

@@ThmsPng There’s another thing to consider.
Namely, the Calvinistic definition of Sovereignty is “Determinism.”
God isn't "trying." God gives us enough free will to say "yes" or "no" to Christ. That's why Joshua says, "CHOOSE you this day whom you will serve."
Dead in trespasses and sin
Quickened by the Spirit!
We have a God given will at birth. It is free by nature.
@normmcinnis4, The Calvinists are right that after the fall our free will is not totally free because it is influence by our sin nature which we inherited from Adam...
Calvin was wrong.
Free will is not a doctrine found in the Bible. It’s just a complaint about predestination.
