Stoics and Christians have a lot in common. Epictetus talked a lot about god too so does Marcus Aurelius god is a huge part of stoic physics.
Pretty sure they were talking about different gods though, the stoics view god more as a force of nature than the Christian god who is Christ Father.

Thanks for this video Simon. I have just started Seneca’s “Morals of a Happy Life”, and a few chapters in I felt that having some information and background on the life that Seneca had lead would be beneficial. This was perfect.

Seneca is a fascinating character and is probably one the worlds first life coaches...... A progressive man who wasn't afraid to look at solely one aspect as being the way to live life being tied down as a stoic....he often went to the walled garden of Epicurus to check out what they were saying....being open-minded is what like about him....looking forward to the rest of your series as they appear
Thanks for your input, James. I also really appreciate his willingness to diversify his thought. As we go through I'll try to mention moments where he clearly diverges from stricter Stoic though in order to make a point easier to apply.
Hi. Whether a man is going to see this or not i am to say that the letters from seneca 1-22 has made me see things from another perspectives. The things like "to have less and what is enough" is really something that should be considered to have. As well as to value a feeling in the case of haing too much and not be able to have stability. That is to say a man who wants pleasure do not add more, but subtract from it. I am glad of going into the troubles of my life and i am ever glad to learn views on things from the man himself. For he is sick as everybody else.
