Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) is a mechanism that can prevent data loss by combining multiple drives into one logical storage unit. Multiple drives provide redundancy by spreading data across them, which can provide protection against one or more drives failing based on the RAID level used. RAID configuration is easy as the default QNAP NAS settings will recommend an ideal RAID structure for your NAS.
QNAP NAS supports various RAID types that provide varying levels of performance and data redundancy. Based on the number of drives in your NAS, you can choose from single; RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60; and hot spare configurations.

Automatic RAID disk replacement before potential failure
If potential drive errors are detected, QNAP NAS automatically moves data from the affected disk in a RAID group to a spare disk, before the data on the affected disk becomes inaccessible. This feature removes the need to wait for the system to replace drives only after a failure occurs and improves system reliability by preventing the need for lengthy (from hours to even weeks) RAID rebuilding which risks data loss and impacts system performance.
Expand a RAID group
You can increase the maximum storage capacity of a RAID group by replacing all member disks with higher-capacity disks. This operation can be performed while the RAID group is online and accessible to users.
Change the RAID type of a RAID group
When your data grows in importance, you can migrate the system from single-drive mode to RAID 1, RAID 5 or RAID 6 by adding additional hard drives. The migration process can be achieved without losing access to data or interrupting NAS services.

Love your channel. Was looking about raid options, and i am a qnap guy, but if qnap don't do something similar to synology's SHR i'll have to change to synology next time my nas is obsolete.

We do not do a "Hybrid RAID", we would prefer that the NAS was optimised for performance than capacity in a mixed drive environment so we will not compromise with a hybrid solution that can perform quite bad in certain drive setups.

the reason i want to move a shared folder to anther pool say you need a bit more space drivesa on way but you need it asap on quts I do not see a option to relocate anther shared folder to anther pool

Can you please do a Video of moving Shared folders from one pool to anther on qnap Nas I'm not seeing one for a qnap only synology ones

Don't believe this is possible, you would have to create a new Shared Folder on the other pool, you can then move all the data from one to the other using File Station (if small) and maybe HBS3 with a one-off Sync Job (if larger).

Are we able to connect the QNAP TS-932PX DIRECTLY to our PC without a network connection?

You can connect it directly, but it would be with an Ethernet cable. That Ethernet cable does not have to go through the wider network that you have in place, it can be just you directly connected to the NAS.
