  • Welcome back to week two of our unprocessed food challenge. We're Lauren & Brooks Bash, a plant-based couple living in LA. In an effort to be hyper aware of where our food comes from, and learn more about the current US food system, we have challenged ourselves to remove processed foods from our diet for 30 days.
    And while this challenge may be new to us, the principle is anything but new, and is considered a whole-foods-plant-based lifestyle.

    This is my second month 100% plant based and I’m so much happier and healthier already. I had a really bad relationship with food before and it’s taught me so much about what our food contains and where it comes from.

    I assure you that in Europe mainly in Italy a typical day is like this 😅😂 we’re used to cooking everything for ourselves except some very busy days 😅

    This cause is absolutely brilliant - I love your commentary and the tie-in to why you’re doing this and the importance of eating whole and unprocessed foods. You can see the dedication and love you both put into the challenge. I hope you keep up the good work!

    Loved the little hike meal prep with dehydrated food. But really good point on the price and time privilege reflections!

    I could do it except for not putting creamer in my coffee. I am lactose intolerant. Any good substitutes for in coffee?

      You can make plant milks at home. Just needs nuts or oats water and a date for sweetness. I use my slow,juicer which means you don’t need to mess with nut milk bags.

    Where did you get your sourdough starter? Its only day 2 an dit takes several days to make a starter. Did you buy it?

    I was all ready to start this but no one was eating my delicious moist cake so now I'm mad because its just sitting there so I just ate a huge piece with my bottle of wine. F*ck it
