    I love this, I can relate to all of these individual experiences from the build up to the on water. You never know what sort of session you’re in for.
    “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.”
    Charles Dickens had it right

    Amazing work. It tells a story with all the highs and lows. I loved the way you brought everyone's footage together to give different experiences of the trip. One of the best downwind videos I've seen. Thanks, I really enjoyed it!

    Amazing stuff, well done guys. Top marks to Josh for doing the most important thing - not panicking. You were totally rational in the face of adversity, and you got the job done, kudos.

    I believe you mentioned it in the video... but it is long for me to try to go back and find it. What foil were you using?
    One suggestion, I always appreciate when the TH-cam description includes gear information.

    Well done Josh. Maybe get some cactus juice shots for your cramp.

  • @johndignam7888
    @johndignam7888 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Hi Josh , Infinit Nutrition Australia can make you a custom blend drink that will solve your cramps and provide you with enough nutrition for long distance workouts.
    I use Iinfinite Nutrition custom blend for long distance events (Triathlon) with no GI problems and no cramps. I would consider Downwinding over 3 hours long as an endurance Sport .
    Good Luck with your Nutriton and Training.

    • @oceanpixels9408
      @oceanpixels9408 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. So you believe cramps can be stopped or simply delayed. I got some serious cramps right at the end and it was not fun.

    • @johndignam7888
      @johndignam7888 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@oceanpixels9408 Certainly, you can have all your nutrition in your camel pack. I had a 15 hour event last year using a blended mix from Infinit with no Cramps or GI issues. I have no affiliation with Infinit, but I use to cramp regularly.
      You fellas also need to evaluate what strength and conditioning you are doing so that your bodies can handle more stress .
      You are elevating this sport to a whole new level. 🙏💪

    • @solentfoiler5969
      @solentfoiler5969 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The science behind craps is not well understood, despite all the product marketing suggesting they have the answer. Dehydration and electrolyte loss are commonly quoted reasons but even that is way too simplistic. Conditioning seems to be the most effective way at avoiding them... Unfortunately! Or pickle juice has been shown to relieve them after they start for some people, but you might not want to go there! There's more neurology in cramping than people realise. It's not just physiology. For example, causing yourself another pain (like biting your tongue!) to distract your brain has been shown to help!

    Put a little salt in our water it will keep you from cramping up

    That didn't look fun at all. But, I do like how Perth goes by only one name, like Madonna.
