The honest opinion of a grandmother who lives in hell understands where and does nothing)) is correct. Why ask Russian programmers who are ahead of Google in terms of neural networks that even Google won’t buy them out)) it’s better to ask the homeless)))) This is the same as judging Americans by homeless people in California, of whom there are hundreds of thousands. The number of these people from the video can be equated to the number of homeless people in the United States. At least they have a home in Russia. Although I don't understand them well. English subtitles are more understandable to me than what they are trying to say in Russian. Lots of Asian and Turkic accents. I don't even understand what they are talking about. In fact, this is a Russophobic channel that does not show that most of Russia has a standard of living higher than in many European countries. But this idiot comes to the outback, which in fact can be considered homeless. these people are useless for the country, like homeless people in the USA. But in Russia they have a home, and no one is trying to take it away from them...

It seems to carry an almost metaphysical clout resulting from its unique characters and concrete visuals of the utterly dilapidated conditions. Congratulations! Really shows up the deep contradictions in rural Russians' feeling for their country. That free old (although her mind seems younger than so many "young" people in Russia) lady at 2:46 is such an inspiration and surprise to me. Mad respect for her! Absolutely incredible how she so fearlessly and clearly speaks the brutal and tragic reality: "It's not a country, it's a madhouse..." (the truest words I've ever heard on 1420). This is the kind of courageous and truthful spirit which Russia will need to reform their present messed up society.

For example, "What brings them joy in life?", "Do they have any life lessons to share?", "What is their greatest accomplishment?" and so on. Despite the anger at the outside world that some of them show, it would be nice to see the real person, the mother, the brother, the dreamer, the friend, and so on. We have bakery vans 3 times a week in rural Portugal, as well as a grocery van, a hardware/clothing general van and even a frozen food van. Most people have cars, but the nearest shops are 13km away and there are lots of elderly people in the village. There's a bar, but not every settlement can sustain a village shop. That said, I've never seen such poverty and neglect as in this Russian village, outside of Africa. If Putin spent the money Russia is spending on the Ukrainian war on his own people, their lives could be transformed.

The former USSR leadership thought too many rules were placed on them when eastern European countries were allowed to break away. IMO, I don't feel there were enough rules. If there were, Putin would have never been installed. I wish Russian people could speak freely without fear of imprisonment. Well, for a start "Fiddler On The Roof" is pretty much - as far as Russo-Jewish relations go - a fairy tale, heavily sugar coated to the boot. As Maxim Katz, a Russian Jew, an opposition politician currently living outside of Russia summed it up in one of his recent YT videos,
_The thing is that since Catherine the Great* conquered [the Kingdom of] Poland [and therefore] the [Russian] empire encompassed the biggest Jewish diaspora in the world, the government just couldn't leave them alone [lit. "in peace"]. Every generation of Jews was harshly reminded that preserving their identity and following their fathers' and forefathers' faith makes them second-class citizens [lit. "people of a lesser sort"]._
_The Government [State] purposefully made the life miserable for the entire Jewish populace. You couldn't live wherever you want**, you couldn't get the education like others could, or make a career in any Government agency/ office. You were severely limited in any business endeavours, and on the top of it, the "obstacle course" made for you by the State was changed on a regular basis. There was no decade going without an outburst of antisemitism, always with a fresh packet of ridiculous bans/ restrictions in tow._
_And that's even without touching the subject of regular and bloody anti-Jewish riots - which obviously weren't instigated/ orchestrated by the Government, but they were nonetheless expressly approved by it._
_In short, it's not only that the State [Government] outright hates you and leaves no opportunity to remind you about it, but it will always strive to poke a stick into your eye so you wouldn't accidentally forget about it._
(th-cam.com/video/0nr62TU2Rdc/w-d-xo.html - it has a human made English CC, I think "on" by default, and I took the liberty to improve a little this original kinda awkward translation)
      _____
      * - de domo Sophie Friederike Auguste von Anhalt-Zerbst-Dornburg - and yes, she was a Prussian, not Russian, and never actually even properly learned Russian language. So, here you go - antisemitism, Russian or German, apparently stems from the very same source.
      ** - Pale of Settlement, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pale_of_Settlement
Also, you have to keep in mind, that unlike "in the West", in Russia the "general populace" is seen more as a "burden" rather than an "asset" by the ruling class - unless, that is, there's a sudden need for a lot of cannon fodder (just like now). In what way those poor and semi-literate "muzhyks" (poor peasants) could possibly "enrich" the state, which gets the majority of its income from export of natural resources? Huh?
You need just enough workers to ensure proper and undisturbed functioning of gas- and oil wells, pipelines transporting them and terminals - and that's about it. OK, add some cannon fodder, and "servants' class" to cater to the needs of the aristocracy/ ruling class, and leave the rest to rot.
Will they manage to scrape a living? Fine, tax them then. Will they succumb to old age, cold, disease, man-made disasters - and what not? Who cares, still so many (too many) of them left.
There are TONNES of videos on YT showing "dying deep hinterland" (search for "умирающая глубинка"), and while majority of them are in Russian only, "ain't need no weatherman to see the way the wind blows".
I remember one video I watched few years back, in which there was a big flood in some Siberian province during spring thaw, in which entire villages were totally cut-off from the "outside world" (bar a boat trip), and the reportage I watched was made about two weeks (!) into it. And do you know what was the local government assistance/ relief? Yep, you guessed it right - NONE WHATSOEVER. No one from "nachalstvo" (a broad term for "the authority") even bothered to SEE what happened. (Hey, why should they, in the first place...?)
As they say, "Russia isn't a place, it's a state of mind".
Or, as Yuri Felshtinsky said, "Russia was never a democracy and always functioned only as en empire" ("Russia’s War in Europe. How Will It Proceed. How Will It End." - th-cam.com/video/R81Oo1KL5Fs/w-d-xo.html)
OK, 'nuff of this pointless rant of mine... Hope you enjoyed it, and should you not then my advice is "don''t read it then". Yes, I know, should have said that at the beginning, but "better late than never" as my Auntie used to say whenever she was late for a train... ;-)

So many of them feel they must leave for the city to get higher education and higher paying jobs. It’s very sad if you cannot find decent paying jobs and also live in the countryside or a small village- life for children would be so much more peaceful in a rural setting! Aren’t there families who farm, have a family orchard, raise their own meat, are bee keepers for honey and also make things from the beeswax like candles, soaps, salves? Aren’t there families who are furniture or cabinet makers, bakers or dairy men and cheese makers?
For example I know a man who’s a mechanic, working at home from his own shop. His wife works part time as a nurse; they are nearly self-sufficient and very happy on a small farm with their children, near his parents and extended family. I know many such rural families who survive well with a few different streams of income, and are then able to have a more peaceful, rural lifestyle with their family. They do grow much of their own food, and frequently trade what they raise or make with other folks who make something different. It’s sad to see this grassroots lifestyle is apparently now missing in so many other nations.

In fact this is not remote places for Russians..Only 600 km from Moscow...But it is for example for England where 600 km from London you will face Scotland at very best.

A doctor starting out in Moscow might be paid 50,000 rubles a month (820 USD - Nov 2022). A surgeon may make 70,000. City bus drivers get paid more than surgeons. In the USSR they were paid essentially nothing. That she lives like that is absolutely no surprise. This is what Russians consider "normal" life and people like this woman have no idea they are in poverty or being lied to by their criminal regime.

A message for people writing insults and bad comments in the comment section about the people in the video: Look at yourself and have some respect. They are honest, real and everything they said is true unlike your disgusting, low hatred for these good people
You hate nature? You hate values? You hate loyalty? Then go to a psychiatrist
Good qualities should be promoted amongst any population. Period.
We need to have respect for eachother and help eachother
