Can you ask the question: "If Putin announced that the war with Ukraine must end and Russia should pull its troops out of Ukraine, would you support another candidate in the next presidential elections who supported continuing the war and keeping all the territory its annexed?" Or "Would you support the war to continue even if Putin announced that it was in Russia's best interest to seek peace with Ukraine and make concessions, such as giving some or all of the territory back to Ukraine or allowing Ukraine to join NATO?" I'm really curious about whether the Russians who say they support the war would continue to do so even if Putin and the government were now against it?
I am curious about something as I'm a person with no connections to neither Ukraine nor Russia. Do russians or ukraineans even know why this war is even taking place? Some people in your videos seem to think the war was "necessary", but what for? What's the historic reason behind this? Even if it's used as a facade. My country, Romania, has lots of lost territories that are now part of Ukraine, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia and the entirety of Moldova which was once fully Romanian territory, but that doesn't make us think of warmongering the neighbouring nations. Even with the propaganda and the brainwashing, what excuse could be justifiable enough to be thinking positively of war, especially when there is a precedent that brought nothing good (USSR)?

It's obvious what the question really means - do you accept whatever state media tells you? Not all the pro-war citizens actually watch TV or even support Putin's regime. It's a complex geopolitical and culturological question, as many Russians still have an imperialist mindset because Russia in any forms has been an empire since, probably, Ivan the Great (officially since Peter the Great). We did military style drilling (in school) and stood guard if we went on camps. I have sympathy for any nation brainwashed by their leaders. You asked 10 of them: "Do you like apple juice?" 9 of them answerded no. And the remaining 91 would answer yes. Here’s a good question for future videos: Do you think the Russian government should control the news media, or do you think it should be privately owned?
If I remember correctly - at the beginning of the "special military operation" - there were several independent news organizations in Russia - they have since all been shut down.
If the private companies tell same story as government does it doesn't matter if they are private. There must be a diversity. In several country don't control even state owned media.
" or do you think it should be privately owned?" It really doesn't matter when there is no independent justice system. In a world where government owns justice the state owns everything, even the private owners of press and media.
I’m sure everyone in these videos thinks about these conversations later. I hope it has an impact on the way they view the world and evaluate information. I think it will. Some people can’t be reached, but I think ultimately you’re creating a positive ripple effect.

Exactly. Watching the fall of the USSR and the declassification of a bunch of shady stuff probably opened a lot of people’s eyes to the BS the Soviet government had been feeding them for 70 years.
They probably think that now that the Soviet Union is history they have uncovered all the propaganda methods. But the Putin Regime uses a different kind of propaganda. Soviet Propaganda wanted to fake something that doesn't really exist (a prospering communist utopia). Putin's propaganda is based more on the idea of not directing citizens to form a certain opinion or fake reality, but to steer them towards passivity, in other words to completely drive out people's political intrinsic will to participate. They want to make people believe that nobody knows what is really true or false, or indeed whether anything is true at all. And when people are so confused most people tend to follow the strong looking leader. That's why there is an oversaturation and flooding of the media with this inconsistent misinformation (it didn't happen, someone else did it, it was staged, maybe we did it but we were forced to, Ukraine did it, NATO did it, the neighbor's cat did it (okay it wasn't the neighbor's cat, but the vet did it) remember MH 17 or the little green men who occupied Crimea, Bucha etc..
The follow up question should have been 'when did you realise that what you were told as a teenager was false and how did that change the way you perceive the government's narrative?'

But like the next woman said, maybe they are afraid.
There are so many interesting, charasmatic, and strong-spirited folks here living with a broken system. Its scary to imagine living in a country that forces one to hide their identity or ideas while same country constantly pretending and lying to its people. The information age will bring the downfall of this system. Im adopted from russia as a baby, and I'm thankful for my parents that i can live comfortably in the US.
Virtually all the russians who stop to talk, seen uninterested in the people of the outside world and this is reflected in their introspective political views and their acceptance of their governments actions.

Can you ask the question:
"If Putin announced that the war with Ukraine must end and Russia should pull its troops out of Ukraine, would you support another candidate in the next presidential elections who supported continuing the war and keeping all the territory its annexed?"
Or
"Would you support the war to continue even if Putin announced that it was in Russia's best interest to seek peace with Ukraine and make concessions, such as giving some or all of the territory back to Ukraine or allowing Ukraine to join NATO?"
I'm really curious about whether the Russians who say they support the war would continue to do so even if Putin and the government were now against it?
Everyone's brainwashed, you think you aren't? Think again 🧠💆😵💫🥳
Those that have the currage to speak out negativly. Can you atleast blur their eyes/face?

@TFactory The Nazis only had 33% of the votes. When Hitler became Richkansler it was to late. We will hold our politicians responsible to uphold that support or we will replace those politicians very quickly. This is a question of the survival of democracy and a very simple one to answer - better suffer a little today and support Ukraine then to let Russia have its way and suffer much more tomorrow! 2.When asks about what community says that, he asks whether it's the LGBTQ community, showing he's gobbled up the russian propaganda saying that western politics has been taken over by woke queer people in almost a sort of dictatorship, which of course is completely false.
3. He also says the US/West has many problems, implying that the US is as bad or worse than Russia, and therefore should keep out of their business. While we do have some problems here, we do also still have free speech (no one has to be afraid like can be seen in this video), we are waaayyy more democratic than Russia, we don't punish and lock up people for speaking up against the system. And last but not least: We don't randomly invade our neighbouring by now democratic countries just because we're loosing political influence over them, killing tens of thousands of their and even more of our own men, only to then make up a sketchy ass excuse for it.

Here’s a good question for future videos: Do you think the Russian government should control the news media, or do you think it should be privately owned?
It should be privately owned by the Putin cause He can't trust his little gang completely.
If I remember correctly - at the beginning of the "special military operation" - there were several independent news organizations in Russia - they have since all been shut down.
I can predict the most daring answer: they can be private, but responsible! 😃

Hi Daniil from Ukraine, thank you.
Loved the 1 older lady that cut to the chase.... And absolutely loved the last group of guys that made jokes & clearly know what's up. They're not brainwashed 👌🏻🙌🏻
Same here. Very intelligent answers from the ladies. The young guys in the end were hilarious: "They say in TV Putin is good! I believe he is good!" Yeah right... 🤣
@@-NEH- It was obvious what they really thought. I mean...raising the pensions of the soldiers...joke.
Westerners are especially zombified. It's awfully ironic how you Westerners watch your TV, draw conclusions about Russia and Russians from what you just watched, then accuse Russians of being brainwashed...

tbh I feel like the very underrated moment is at 7.24, this woman who clearly says ‘there are many lies on tv, I don’t watch it, don’t support war’, just look at her. there’s that feeling about her, like she’s defeated, broken and there’s no hope in her eyes. that’s how many who’s stuck in russia look like.
And the gentleman just behind who clearly says "it's a crime". Not just I don't support it, or I don't like it or I feel negative about it, or some evasive answer, like others. He called it by its name, and that is important and very brave, being where they are.
Because Russia has prospects for the worsening of the situation. Even if Putin is gone, there are enough villains who claim to power. And they can be even more cruel.
6:25 i feel so bad for the old lady from Herson, imagine your hometown has fallen with your relatives and friends and now it’s only debris… horrible experience.
Interesting video. Having watched loads of your videos, this one question about propaganda seemed to really fire people up in their responses. As if it is a question that they have already asked themselves. Thanks for the hard work Daniil.
How can a brainwashed person know if he/she is brainwashed? On the other hand giving doubt if theirselves are brainwashed or not, makes this episode question good reflection on peoples brainactivity.
Actually it was an intelligent response to avoid an arguement and make him go away without being unfriendly and seeming like a bad person. Being brainwashed doesn´t have to do with intelligence; she still can understand the topic of thr discussion and understand where it is leading to (anti-russian/anti war) and she knows she has an opinion that is different than most young people have, and she sees young people asking her questions and filming her. She gave an answer with humor to avoid a confrontation because she knows most people can be fooled with a little humor and an untrue fact/statement, and they will stop asking her questions; . But she couldn´t be more wrong by saying How can a brainwashed person adequately answer this. And you´re not the only person she fooled, look at all the others who make the same comment you made. Sadly, today most people do not really listen closely and think about what was just said and why it was said, they just take everything word by word because it is easier that way. It has nothing to do with someone being stupid, it has more to do with people being lazy.
@@north2green Lazy - like the cut and paste repetition that you indulge in?
@@north2green Thanks for answering my statement, and by that I really felt my statement was correct since Im asking my self the same question from time to time getting pumped from YT and the newspapers. - I remember when I was younger I played alot on my computer, and specially MMO games. I remember when observing the russians, and this is in general, they appeared to attack a target with weak random armor, and equal lousy weapons, going dead-on either to by chance win, or more likely to lose, so back then I asked my mother about why russian players do things in this manner. She used one second to find the reply, and that reply should be framed in and put on a wall:
"This is what communism does to people."
Have a great day! :D
Once again, great work. Stay safe.
Thank you so much for your work!

-I do not watch TV and I couldn't be brainwashed I have my own opinion
- They wanted to attack us
-There are only LGBT in Europe
And then according to the training manual embedded in the brain by the TV 😂
4:45 He FAILED the test... those 'LGBT democratic states'. HAHAHAHA!!!!
I love it how smart some of the answers were! Great job, 1420!
Yeah russians are smart, but they are not able to produce computers or anything, which is more complicated than a hammer. The only thing they can produce is wheapons, to kill other nations, and ever for this purpose they had to steal the technology and design!

"How a brainwashed person can answer this?" Best answer.
When they are blind, they're blind👌
I hope the lady with the sister in Kherson could finally speak to her on the phone.
I'm glad that you are interviewing more of the older people - they have a very different take, having lived through a lot more than the younger people. As an aside, the more I watch of these videos, the more I am surprised at the huge number of people that smoke, and how many of them wear U. S. branded clothing.
Thank you Danill. Brilliant stuff! Very revealing!
Bro some of these interviews trigger my fight or flight response idk how to explain it. I simultaneously get angry, second hand embarrassment, I'm amused, I'm sad, I cringe, I hyperventilate and I verbally cuss even tho no one's there to hear me... these videos make me feel emotions I didn't know where even possible
Get some professional mental health advice as soon as you can - reality is often overpowering so a bit of guidance from someone experienced in this field can be very helpful.
That's a normal reaction for listening to idiots, why would anyone feel calm and content while watching this? It is very sad, after all.
@@ragvald8835 life is full of idiots in general, you can’t be that emotional all the time, it’s exhausting for you mental health . Also keep in mind if you support democracy and freedom of speech, that actually means that every person you find an idiot have the very same right to speak what’s on their mind the same as you…
@@dc5269 OH, I know, but you get used to it eventually. And you gotta admit, as far as idiots go, some of those are pretty far gone. And I'm not saying they can't voice their opinion, I'm saying their opinions are a sad result of years of brainwashing. I meet those kinds every day, and I know it's useless to argue, since they don't rely on logic. Best you can say is "OK" and move along.
But if you don't feel any kind of indignation or resentment when you listen to lies or propaganda, that's when you know you're dead inside. Like, we're the same species, and you're dumber than a log, so that insults ME.
Contact some psychologist then…
I love your interviews, gives a look into everyday peoples minds. I appreciate the difficulty it must be to get people to talk on camera. I would have like to have seen a question in regards to all the news/TV stations being state owned and how they think it effects the reporting. Or something along that topic. Good luck.
The granny at least realised that she wouldn't know if she's been brainwashed if she's been brainwashed. Most failed again.
6:40 That old lady spitted some truth
kudos to the old lady at 6:54 was really impressed and pleasantly surprised to see there are older folk in Russia who still use their heads.
"At the end of the day, I have head not just to wear hats but to operate with my brain". Bless this woman
"People are Zombified by the television." I totally agree with her... Kill your television!
A very intelligent response from an old lady at 7:39.
4:01 "I have my own opinions"
Proceeds to repeat state propaganda word by word.
In a democracy it is difficult to hide problems. And, to solve problems you have to first identify them. In autocracies problems are what the gov says they are, and where they are (mostly elsewhere). Which system do you think solves more issues?
At 1:14 she answered perfectluy" How can a brainwashed person answer this correctly"
Stay safe dear Daniil 🙏
"I have a head not just to wear hats" She is the best
Is that a saying in Russia, or did the lady spontaneously independently come up with this? Great line!
Woman at 7:40 keeps it very real, some people are zombified others too scared to say what they really think
Great video. Also, very good presentation of ground news. The first ad on youtube that I really enjoyed. :D Keep up the good work!
I always look forward to the 1420 videos. I am an American who grew up in the 60's living around the world and across the USA.
I appreciate the honesty of your channel.
Always a thumbs up 👍
It's interesting you mentioned 60's.What was your opinion back then about the American invasion of Vietnam? Did you feel that was a necessary thing?
Can I ask you a question? Do you think your generation in the US is similar to your peers in Russia?
TORNADOMAN considering all the countries that the USSR had invaded and the 100 million people killed or starved to death under Communism between China, Russia and Cambodia. It probably was the right thing to do. Personally, I would have let them self-destruct. The USA is trying to self-destruct now.
@Lubashka495 for the most part, the majority were or are the same.

1:14 What a great "answer"... you could only get that from someone who takes things critically by nature.
6:12 What a plot twist them asking you the same questions that you usually ask others XD
6:26 Absolute legend! This explains them starting to ask the questions.
My favourite argument. "I'm too old to x", "I am a free thinker". Surprise, morons come in all ages and sizes
One of the best questioning and answering videos you've made.🌍❤️🙂
Some really cool responses on this one. Well done 1420.
" i have a head not just to wear hats, but to operate with my brain." well put
1:15 She has a point.
Absolute wisdom!
4:01 and 5:34 completely subverted my expectations. The guy says that he rarely watches TV, so I figured he knows it's propaganda. And the left woman says they're too old to fall for propaganda, which is just naive. Then it turns out the guy fell for the same narratives anyway and the woman is not pro-Russian. But like the next woman said, maybe they are afraid.
And what propaganda is this, what he says is true.

6:55 This grandma is a wise woman.
US does this too.
Seeing more people are aware of the reality now which is a good sign
Virtually all the russians who stop to talk, seen uninterested in the people of the outside world and this is reflected in their introspective political views and their acceptance of their governments actions.
How unbelievable brave is your work?! How amazing that you can do this! How do you protect yourself?
