It's really fascinating. I know that the mocha coffee bean was named after a sea port in Yemen, Al Mokha, so I'm guessing the coffee was sent on ships from Yemen to Somalia? It's interesting and kind of sad that Kenya, Ethiopia and Italy get the recognition as coffee nations, but Somalia and Yemen don't.

That is true, Somalia was one of the strongest sea traders, Silk Road. we sold coffee to the world first. And introduced cinnamon to europe

We use Xawaash in our dishes which is a Somali spice mix. Cinnamon, Cardomom, Cumin, Nutmeg, Black Pepper, and a few other spices
Then I like Xawaash a lot! There was a little bit of stew on the rice, which I'm assuming was made with this spice mixture.
