    Hi Brendan! I love your vids! I'm so surprised that this channel hasn't blown up. I'm pretty experienced, but struggle with cutting out people/hair. I found the channels method pretty interesting. The problem for complicated images is that I can't get the contrast like you did in the the last image. In one example, there's trees and dark areas that are being picked up. Therefore it's impossible to create a mask because there isn't enough contrast between the subject and BG. Do you have any advice for an outside shot with a complicated BG? I hope you see this. Thanks!

    • @BrendanWilliamsTutorials
      @BrendanWilliamsTutorials  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ya in those cases it is tough because you need to actually rebuild the flyaways with a brush. It’s almost impossible for PS to cut out little hairs when they aren’t clearly defined. With a tiny brush just sample nearby hair color and paint hair in the areas needed to extend the edge of your subject so it looks realistic around the hair. If you have a drawing tablet this process is easier and gets better results as well. I’d like to make a video on that one in the not too distant future!

    do you have any videos on how to make multilayer stencils? like taking an image and separating it into 3 -6 layers of different shades of grays whites and blacks? example: im taking a picture of the exorcist, making it greyscale, separating it into like 3-5 or 6 shades of grays b&w, so i can cut them out with a cricut machine to spray paint them onto a canvas.

  • @bobcat65a
    @bobcat65a 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Really Impressive video; thanks for posting! This is probably really elementary but as you move through your 4 cut out features, you never say what to do to merge the edited layers you have just completed or do you do that? PS gives you the options of Merge Layers, Merge Visible, or Flatten Image. What should I do to preserve all the editing of my mage?

    • @BrendanWilliamsTutorials
      @BrendanWilliamsTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I do not do any merging after! When you export everything is merged together into what you see on your canvas anyways. If you merge layers you cannot edit things with the same freedom so its always best to leave them unmerged unless you are trying to reduce project file sizes and know you will not need to edit the merged layers individually

    Hi. Carlos here from Spain.
    First of all, many thanks for the tutorials. Amazing
    Just a question regarding changing brush size with my Wacom tablet. I see that when you do it there’s a red color inside the circle indicating the size and hardness of the brush however in my case I have no color. How can I get that red color ?
    Many thanks

    • @BrendanWilliamsTutorials
      @BrendanWilliamsTutorials  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Carlos it's because I'm using a brush resizing shortcut. On mac it's option + control +click and drag. On PC I'm not 100% but I think it's something along the lines of Alt + right click and drag.

    • @carlosparraga2689
      @carlosparraga2689 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrendanWilliamsTutorials Many thanks Brendan. Understood. I am Mac user and maybe I don't see it because I'm using my Wacom tablet . Anyway it works although having the red color makes it easier to see both size and hardness changes. Best regards and stay safe (Virus, politicians.....)

    • @kylemateri7412
      @kylemateri7412 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For PC users, can confirm it's alt + right click & drag. Vertical is hardness and horizontal is size. I usually adjust one axis at a time.

    • @annielopez5940
      @annielopez5940 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ive done the process for the third time now, in case i missed a detail from your tutorial. On the 1st and 2nd tries, it didnt affect the black areas at first but when i was trying to bring back the shirt, its kind of transparent/opaque.

    • @BrendanWilliamsTutorials
      @BrendanWilliamsTutorials  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This can happen if the color you paint with isn't 100% white. You are likely using a slightly grey color which has this affect. Make sure your foreground color is 100% white in the color picker then try again.
