- If you find the center console Qi charger useless in your Toyota Highlander, I have decided to remove it to make more storage room. I decided to declutter the space by adding an organizer at the bottom along with a bigger tray to hold coins and other items.

Had no idea it was that easy to remove those. That charger design and placement is probably the worst console usage I have ever seen in a vehicle. Thanks For the video.
Agreed! It was a good idea but what were Toyota engineers thinking when it came time to apply proof of concept to real world situations. Did they not test the charger with focus groups and assume that people don't use phone cases? It's so much more spacious now!
@@vietbubbletea Looking for a tray that fits way in the back where the jack tools are stored. They have them for the older models but have not found anything for the newest generation Highlander.
@@paulp1166 Are you referring to the space under the trunk floor? I have a bunch of crap down there like umbrellas, portable toilet for the kids , first aid kit, etc so it's a hot mess down there. lol Let me know if you do find something!
just purchased my new (used) 2022 Highlander. The Qi charger is useless. My iphone 14 does not charge reliably. with or without case. Part of the problem is the camera lenses but also the phone moves as I drive and disconnects the charging connection.

Just bought a used 2021 Toyota Highlander and I love your channel. Many of the improvements you have made to your Highlander are things that I want to do. Really appreciate your video on removing the wireless charger from central console. I have order the dual wireless charger that is installed in the niche below the information center. Thanks for showing how to remove the worthless Toyota charger.

is there any idea on how to make a good use of the 12V cable? like LED light for the center console?
LED lights in the console or under the seats are options. Maybe hardwiring a dash cam as well but honestly, I just use the USB or cigarette port that is there for all those accessories because I'm too lazy! lol

If you're referring to the side walls on the center console, you dont need to remove the seats.

2023 wireless pad is a real POS as well... They've addressed some of the issues but.. it's not backwards compatible. Toyota seems to be becoming just anyway Western car company focus this qrts profits rather than the product& customer

Thanks for the sub! I was fortunate and purchased my Highlander in December 2020 just before the chip shortage impacted supply and pricing. Do you own a Highlander or in the market for one?
@@vietbubbletea ordered my 2021 hybrid limited on Sept 9. Dealer said it is "In Transit" and should be here Oct 25. Did you pay less than MSRP?
@@Okikor1 Great choice! Back then before the chip shortage, I purchased my car at $4000 below MSRP. If you're a Costco member, some dealers today are still honoring the Costco Auto discount, never hurts to ask! I hope you enjoy your Highlander as much as I have.

@@Okikor1 Nope, my dealer wanted too much for it at the time of signing so I passed on it. We have a 2yr warranty anyways to give me more time to think if I want to get it later. If you join the Toyota Highlander Facebook groups, there's a person that sells the dealer extended warranty for a great value that many other members have purchased from.

This is the cup holder base that I have but I switched the phone mount with an Andobil one since I liked the phone release button on the side rather than at the top, hope that helps!

Where did you get the net between the seats?
@NORMAN OTT Here's the link below, I specifically got this because of the draw string at the bottom that many others don't have in order to secure the net to the center console so items don't slip through the back. I had to pop the back plastic trim off to feed the cord underneath then slap it back on to secure it in place.
