Already into FPV, 7 months "noob" building and flying acro, this is a game changer for sure as far as cinnematic footage but as far as comparison, not so much. You crash this it's going to hurt a lot more than crashing a self-build. A lot of the FPV community is not amused with this thing but I am so amused, I went and ordered one for myself. Although I enjoy soldering and building my own drones, this thing is going to make my footage so much more epic. Totally thrilled with DJI, just keeps getting better. I'm a bit worried about the people who have never flown FPV though, not sure they will understand the damage they will cause with this thing if they do make a mistake. Peter, I think this is a game changer for you!!!
I’ve been flying & building FPV for 3 years now. This is kinda cool for getting people into the hobby, but when you hit a tree at 60mph it helps to know the inner workings of these things and that’s what DJI is missing here. This is basically buying a Benz to enter in a demolition derby lol
In a good way, I think Peter left the “Frame not analyzed” on the screen to show how smooth the footage from the drone, without stabilizing? Cuz I feel like the footage is already smooth without warp stabilizer 🤣

While I love the tech, cant say Im excited for the drone. Ive been learning to build and fly fpv drones for the last two years, and I will stand firmly by the opinion that the learning curve is 100% appropriate for the amount of responsibility that flying an FPV drone requires. The best way to learn FPV is to get a 200$ tinywhoop combo as well as spend time in a simulator. I could gripe for way too long about all the downfalls of this drone, but no one is going to sit and read it.
Please elaborate on the downfalls. I’ve already purchased a radiomaster tx16s and have been flying on the simulator for a couple of weeks. My next move is to buy the IFlight Protek35 cinewhoop and goggles, which I haven’t decided on. I’m questioning if I should stay on the path of true fpv flying or jump on board the DJI fpv boat. My ultimate goal is to be a cinematic FPV videographer.
@@ljgramThis is not and never will be a professional cinematic FPV platform. Maybe future generations will be, but this current iteration is not. It is primarily a toy, meant to be played with by those who already have dji drones and want to dip their toes into FPV. From what you have shared I think you are further along in your FPV journey than this drone. Maybe Ill reply again with a novel about why.
It's amazing to see FPV becoming a bigger thing and DJI jumping on it. I got in to FPV perhaps 4 years back, soldered sooooooo many drones. It was fun. Wish I still had the drone to be fair... Such an outer body experience
Never flown an FPV drone before but had quite a lot of experience flying other DJI drones. FPV has always intrigued me and this new drone by DJI just has me super excited to want to get into it. The possibilities could be endless with a piece of kit like that!
So I’ve been flying fpv for a while now and I think this definitely hits the mark for beginners wanting to get started. The return to home, pause, built it sim are all good features that I wish I had when I was learning. But I can’t help but think that anyone who has already braved the storm of current fpv technology is going to feel like there is still something missing here. This drone will definitely bring FPV to the masses, however I think that is a double-edged sword. Sure it is fun as heck to fly, but I feel like FPV footage has a shorter life, I think it is less versatile and gets "old" pretty quickly. Once you are accustomed to it, needs to be super-epic to grab people's attention longer than few seconds. Was cool because it was niche, nerdy and difficult; so at the end I don't know how good it would be for the FPV scene in general if it becomes "accesible" and mainstream.

Common mistake.....Kwads vs Drones. Drones you don't fly them you direct them where to go and never crash if you can help it Kwads you SEND IT and crash a lot because they are made of carbon fiber, steel and aluminum and can take a beating. They give you the true feeling of flight

i'm just get into fpv but i prefered to choose an inexpensive kit for flying and learn, for sure dji have a lot of advantages but it is a lot of money for .. and maybe it's not as easy to repair as the diy fpv that you builded up by your own. Great vid as always!

It’s interesting how Peter gets 10x the views on this launch versus the experts in the drone racing and cinematography world. I like Peter’a content, but for something like this NurkFPV is who you really want to watch!

I think this (in my opinion) is more about what it means for the world of FPV and the 'do it yourself' aspect it's always had. The process has always been VERY hands on and by DJI stepping into the ring with this drone, it opens access to this gnarly drone flying niche to a much wider audience. Specifically, an audience that was perhaps hesitant to dive in to the very many facets of FPV.
My complaint with this is you claimed its strong. They aren't. Real FPV pilots will tell you: These things are going to break SO FAST...This is NOT the way to get into FPV. You can buy bind and flies for cheap. You can get a controller and a simulator and learn. A real FPV drone when you crash, will flip over and you can keep flying. THIS IS NOT IT. *AGAIN* AS an FPV and a Mavic - PART 107 Pilot, THIS is NOT it. DJI missed the mark. I got to fly one, I was disappointed. I'm a bit sad that you are so worried about losing your association to DJI - or maybe you actually are unaware of just how breakable these are...that you would give this false perspective on a drone that people are going to crash and break, and be out 800$ (Or more with DJI Care.) I love your channel, but this review unfortunately is going to have people wasting money and smashing drones.
I agree, the best thing about this for me is that you can change the angle on the fly so you can do better backwards flying while keeping the subject in frame, I'm actually waiting till 360 cameras get better

Agreed. I’m about a year into FPV hobby, and there were times when hitting myself in the head with a brick would have been more enjoyable.
I can see flying FPV drones become a sport like Formula 1 racing. Obstacles to fly through, trails to complete, the team with the best mods dominate.

The quality of the footage from that tiny camera isn't that good, its a lot better with a GOPRO and normal DJI drones ((

High frame rates always look awful
FPV cameras are for flight control, ALL fpv cinematic quads use a GoPro fo usable footage.
