I'm only subscribing because you're the first youtuber I've seen smart enough to use their feet to hold things in place while holding a camera lol. But actually this stuff is really interesting!
Super Mario 2 was released in Japan as "Doki Doki Panic", and then reskinned for USA market. Actually it was a good move not only because the original game was difficult, but also because the graphics on both games were identical, and featured only a few improvements. SMB 2 Japan only version was then re-released in USA as "Lost Levels". But in reality the Lost Levels version is nothing compared to the original game. Nowadays its not that difficult to pass this game with use of save states in your emulator, but I personally wasnt able to get to an end, probably like many other players in Japan during 80s. This game really is challenging just like the Kaizo Mario romhacks
I saw a fix for the gray screen for an original NES, but it should apply to the top loader as well. You can leave it turned on for quite some time, the longer the better or simply replacing the capacitors in the top loader.
Oh god mystery of convoy. Love that game even if it's terrible. The last one you pulled is the second Saint Seiya game I think. Hi no Tori is an interesting game too, iirc it's a platformer.
I think the short cords on old consoles are less because of japanese space constraints and more because the console sort of _is_ the cord, the power and a/v cables were so long that you could have the console next to you instead of the TV. Old pong consoles did the same thing.
Bob Woggle fair, but the atari 2600 had a massive power cord, and still 6' cables on their joysticks. Could be a combination of the two. Space constraints still come into play, as you can't sit on two different chairs like many do in North America when playing multilayer.
Hi from Spain! I have purchased a lot of stuffs at Yamatoku and I can say he is not famous for cleaning their products :) Nice lot you have there. New subscriber here. ;)
teh_supar_hackr 0010101 Ha, thanks. I'm still learning and getting better. I hope to get more stuff up in the near future, just crazy busy in the summer so haven't been up to much lately
Ebay used to be fun to browse and bid on sweet deals but not so much anymore. Now people use this low cost high shipping thing like a $3 item with a $30 shipping charge like its going directly to your house on a private jet inside a box full of temperpedic pillows while inside a fire proof safe and taking a lap around the world......only to find out your less than 1lb item is coming from a neighboring state.
I cringed when he went to unplug that controller on the dreamcast. Split second I thought he wasn't going to power off. But ended up that was probably the reason the controller wasnt working to start with
You need a better camera setup. Doing all that with a box cutting with one hand makes me nervous. If that guy was bitter over selling a Dreamcast for $10, he could have set the bid at a minimum. Like $50, or something. To me even a broken Dreamcast is worth at least that. Though it looks like even 'working' ones are selling for $50, which is surprising. I thought they would be going for around $200. I would love to have a Famicom. That would be some nice piece of retro hardware.
Battery repairs are easy on these. You'll need to order a replacement battery with tabs, and a bit to remove the security screw. It involves soldering, so you'll need to borrow an iron if you don't have one. I don't know if I've done a battery video for a gameboy cart yet
Controller ports going bad was a common issue with the Dreamcast. I tested four that ended up having dead ports before buying a good used one years and years ago.
616Haggard I honestly didn't even notice it was on that slip, I attempted to make sure both my personal address and the sellers didn't appear. I'll have to see if there's a way to update this. Thanks for pointing it out.
Dayton Yarnell it won't play clear games, as they are game boy color, but it certainly will play pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold and silver. It won't play crystal
Dayton Yarnell I see them every now and then for a decent price. The super game boy was really a great cart, as I'll never really play game boy games on a handhed, but might on a snes
Games that are a solid color work on the original GameBoy. Ones that are a transparent color are GBC exclusive. Pokemon Gold, Silver, Wario Land II, Mega Man Xtreme, and Game & Watch Gallery 2 and 3 are a few games that work on original GB. Pokemon Crystal, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Mega Man Xtreme 2, Kirby's Tilt & Tumble etc. are GBC exclusive. They work on the original GB because they only took advantage of the GBC's color but not's it's storage or memory or anything like that.
You paid 12$ for a broken Game Boy game? I got Pokemon Gold together with Super Mario Land 2, Pokemon Blue and Crystal, a link cable, two tetris games, maybe 10 GBA games as well as a Game Boy for 10€. All working. And I got another one, a Game Boy Color with Pokemon Red and Blue as well as 8 other games for 15€.
Sorry, but Pokemon gold was for the game boy color and the super game boy only plays game boy games. Your Pokemon game or super game boy is probably fake.
SkyMan07:Reviews and more! Not quite true. pokemon Gold was optimized for the color, but it was fully backwards compatible with a normal game boy. It even has the notch cut out in the corner for the OG gameboy
Some GBC games took advantage of the GBC's color but not it's new memory or anything so they are backwards compatible with the og GB. They're usually black (but sometimes come in different colors) and are a solid color. If a GBC game is a transparent color then it is GBC only. Pokemon Gold and Silver work on the original GameBoy (and many other GBC games) while Pokemon Crystal doesn't (like many other games). Look up the list of ones that do and don't

Daniel Cruz I'm working on evolving opposible foot-thumbs again. I think it will only be another 400 years.
🤣
I once had a seller ship a PSP I ordered inside of a popcorn shrimp box lol.
Wizard Peak that's unreal. I love the crappy packaging sometimes
I hope you gave him a negative review for not including the shrimp.

0:40 you should probably blank out addresses, if not your own then the seller's.
I was thinking the same thing.
why?
You can tell it's an NTSC version, PAL Dreamcast's had a blue swirl rather than an orange swirl.
lol, that's what was going through my head as well. That and blue swirls sold 2x as many systems than all orange/red swirls.
😕
@@tanglelover guessing red is japan?

I think the Famicom cords are so short because Japanese people generally sit on the floor. Could be wrong.
23:30 That's Saint Sieya. It's basically an anime from the mid 80's
Honestly Love this channel I've binge watched most of your videos at this point keep up the amazing content

Was never a fan of how the famicon looked more of on nes guy but the super famicon looked better than the snes
In my opinion the North American SNES is better than the Super Famicom/ Europeron SNES
DantheLazy Munchlax782Gaming I like the console design of the U.S. SNES but I like the button colored more from the Super Famicom.
Man that top loader is dirty. You'd think the guy would at least, clean it.
Cleaning costs extra. Nothing is free.
You remind me of RetroGameTech, except less known, and you upload more.

You should make a video on replacing a broken DS hinge, as half of my DSes have that issue.
teh_supar_hackr 0010101 if I find one with that issue, I'll definitely give it a go. Off to ebay!
RetroGameTech is dead for 7 months now...
Raimar Lunardi He's a lot more active now, gladly
Easy to tell PAL Dreamcasts apart. Blue swirl instead of orange
The Bandai blue cartridge is Saint Seiya
Very nice find
A super gameboy is basically just a gameboy.

I was like: "How does he not know that anime?" xDDD

Hey very very good pickups... I'm jealous :D this is gonna be pretty interesting with repairs!!
Yep. That there is Yoshi’s Cookie according to Google. Also according to google: at 22:00, that is Hino Tori Fire Bird.
man i love your content, i enjoy it about as much as some of my favorite TV series lol

If it wasn't for the short controller cord I may had picked one up years ago.
i think this guy needs to be sent a tripod for mailtime.
You have to get a tripod
You should buy new socks. ;)
The last game was Ronin Warriors
A few packages? LOL!

Super gameboy doesn't work with gameboy color games
Gold and Silver will work on it, they’re those kinds of GBC games that work on original Game Boys
Correct, gold and silver are built to be gbc games that are backwards compatible with the original gb. Crystal however is not.
Japan/US have a red logo on there Dreamcast EU have a blue if i recall correctly =)
Always wanted a super famicom
You cleaned games more then fixed them
I do similar stuff on my channel, keep up the great work!
Twin Bee is great!
How much are you flipping fixed famicoms for?
Dude its Saint Seiya
Japanese packaging is always the best.
Famicom eject button: am I a joke to you?
Funny thing about painter's tape is that it's a lot more expensive than packing tape, too. So he spent more money giving you a shitty packing job.
+fluffy yeah, but it's also only more expensive if you have both. In reality, he's just too lazy to pack it properly.
What you right on the eBay search to get stuff like this
arctic adventures was the first game developed by Hideo Kojima btw.
DO MORE
can we go back to dreamcast days, never got it parents wouldnt get it for me when it came out so never got to play xD
I'd love that. Wish that system had a chance to make it, it was awesome
Love this!
I need to fix my Crystal Version. The battery went out...try not to use the Time Change code too much...It killed mine...

nice sock
Just clean your Gameboy and NES games !
There are AV only versions...but they are even more rare. Just mod it.
Mega Jared X once I isolate the problem, I plan on doing the av mod. Rf is pure trash
You might want to think about getting a tripod

Console battery life isn't from the controller. 😅
That's Dollar General tape, I can tell, that stuff is $5 a roll, he lost money on the tape LOL

dude you need a camera stand!
from what i hear the super gameboy does not play clear or pokemon games
Dayton Yarnell it won't play clear games, as they are game boy color, but it certainly will play pokemon red, blue, yellow, gold and silver. It won't play crystal
cool, did not know that trying to get one for a decent price.
just wondering after you fix the system do you re sell them on ebay or some other site? or do you sell locally?
Dayton Yarnell I see them every now and then for a decent price. The super game boy was really a great cart, as I'll never really play game boy games on a handhed, but might on a snes

Nope, but people write these off as junk.
@@RetroRepairs Ohhh.. sory because i saying sware word

You can't put Gameboy color games into a super game boy
Unless there's another gameboy game in the video, I'm assuming you're talking about Gold?
It's not color exclusive. Look at the notch.
Bob Woggle I'm just saying it won't work inside it, not that it wouldn't fit inside the sgb
I'm just saying that the notch means it's not GBC exclusive, as in it'll work in an original DMG gameboy. Which means it'll work in the SGB.
