Hopefully this video will be useful for years to come as the MK8 becomes more mature. A massive thanks to the guys at SCC for their hospitality, and for making this video possible. So what are your thoughts? Save some dollar and opt for this, or go all out and go Big Brake Kit? For me, time will tell but this kit is very very promising from my initial impressions.
Hi thanks going to do the same when i get mine September the 2nd, I think you will find there are upgraded rear pads but the majority of braking is through the front .
Personally i'm satisfied with the stock setup on my MK8 ST on the road ( no track use at all), so i don't feel it worths spending money for any change ! But let us know how the new setup feels on track compared to stock when you're able to test it. Cheers
Nice video again mate. Out of interest what was the brake wear on the original pads like was you about half way through. Another one to go on the list of mods I think currently saving for the ford performance alloys 👍
chris else The alloys are noice! I didn’t actually check the wear on the pads, but at least one of my discs was everso slightly warped following my track day at Abingdon. Braking is much smoother now 😁
@@JBCTR mines going in for it's first service tommorow I suspect I'm around half way through, so I wouldn't upgrade the brakes until they needed replacing. Love the wheels I have saved around £700 for them so far not sure if I should save for some ps4 tyres as well decisions
For info. My ST is 18 months old and I’ve just worn a set of the original front pads out and my OE discs are warped. I’m going to exchange with EBC grooved and dimpled discs and yellow pads. £216 for the front. On 3rd set of front tyres. I like PS4s more as they don’t dry out so quickly. Never been on track. So don’t suffer from fade too much.
You make awesome and very informative videos. Keep it up! I just got mine fiesta st 3-door in performance blue with 18 inches and per. pack. Just breaking it in, but still an epic car! I know that winter is quite far from now, but I’m wondering what winter tires I should get, and wether it’s a good idea to change just the rubber, or if it’s better to get a second set of wheels. How do you deal with winter? Thank you for your response.
Erik Zila Music Hey, thanks for your comments 😁 I don’t tend to change tyres for winter. The UK winters aren’t that harsh and if we have a spell of snow, I tend to just park up and leave it anyway! That said, if I were to go winter tyres, I’d get a second set and drop the size to 17” so they’re cheaper to replace in the long run 😁
JB CTR We dont get that much snow either, but when it suddenly comes I dont want to be restricted or risk a ticket, so I will deffinitely consider dropping the size for winter. Thanks for your advice.
Good video but if they had braced the brake pedal so it had pressure on it The brake fluid wouldn’t run out only The fluid in the rubber lines would come out far less messy
2500s are a road pad, pretty average and tend to leave deposits on the discs which can feel like they’re warped. I wasn’t impressed with them on my track car. Upgraded to pagid rs29s
Hi JB, any chance you can give a 9 month review of these brakes now? Are they worth the upgrade? I'm not going to spend the money to get a big brake kit but would like it a bit stronger before I get a remap. So after 9 months are they any better mare? Also hope you are staying safe mate. Cheers in advance!
Hi Liam! In short, they’re great and still going strong. Only had the chance to do one track session on them but they were way better than stock. On the road, they’re way more confidence inspiring than the stock ones. I covered them briefly after 4 months in this video: th-cam.com/video/gr3mjxP-Z8E/w-d-xo.html
@@JBCTR Hi mate thanks for the reply! That's great, thanks for the update. Ahh see now I've seen all of your videos but forgot you mentioned it in this one! Will watch again. I've had my ST since November and adore it, been doing bits to it but been debating about the brakes! Will definitely get these from SCC then! Thanks buddy. All the best. Keep up the good work!

My ST pads and discs are glazed after one track session. OEM pads and discs are rubbish quality
Hello my friend. So you suggest to go with that kit instead of a bigger brake kit?
Really love that i can basically find a video regarding all the main topics of that car. Thank you for that! =)
Thanks mate! Glad they are of use!
4:21 it's like listening a driving instructor😂
lsgod Check your mirrors before removing your wheels, people. 🙌🏼

Ive got the 2500's on each corner and the braided lines on the mk6ST. A pucker set of pads. Well worth the extra money ( the wife does'nt so ) 😅
You made the best choise on the pads!
Trendliners I’ve been very impressed with them! Must admit 😎
Why did you not go for the ebc yelow stuff??? a lot sheeper!!!
I was considering by them for my fiesta, Are they not good enough???
Great video!!!
@jbctr did you find that the ds2500 sequel? Or were they fine in your application? I know this is few years on lol😅

Nicely done Jonny, you can get yourself on a Trackday now ... fancy one on the 30th July? 👀 😂
Cheers mate - Can't make the 30th. I'll drop you a message!
Ah that’s a shame mate, no worries! Be good to do a trackday with yourself and some others 👍

Good video mate, done similar on my E60!
How many Newtonmeters do the screws need for the caliper bracket and the ones for the caliper itself?
thx
How much n m for the bolts please?

do mk7 front pads fit the mk8? reason being in my country weve only got mk7 locally stocked so far.
Very informative!

Liam Abbott Thanks mate. Enjoy the car 😬
Another great video.
What is thé brand of your rear discs?
Genuine Ford
Thanks...
Do these cars have a brake pad sensor?
Unfortunately not!
nice video, subscribed
Albert McNuggets Thanks Albert, glad it was of use!
Does it work the same on a normal fiesta mk8? Cause need to change them before i go on the track
The process would be similar, but you may need to purchase different discs/pads to fit your car.
@@JBCTR gonna change to revo bigbrake and revo wheels
DS 1.11 or 3000 would of been better for track use
Painted red calipers! Must be a Halford Maxpower w4nker!
They’re standard from factory 🙈
@robertball7734 Don't you look a d*ck now.
Showing how the clip on the front of the calliper would have been a whole 15 minute video on its own!
Chris W Maybe that’s an idea for the next tutorial 😂
I don't understand why he cleaned the discs then picked them back up with dirty gloves? Aha
"Fits C Hook Discs".....
Then fits stock pads 🤣
There were no aftermarket alternatives for sale at time of filming 😉
