Formlabs Finishing Tools is a curated set of 3D printing post-processing solutions that cover support removal, sanding, buffing, and polishing - such as the rotary tool, ergonomic pen sander, flush cutters, hobby knife and blades, microfiber cloth, and other pieces.
In this video, we will be showing you how to post-process 3D printed parts using our finishing tools on an example of the shovel prototype from Black Diamond, printed in Grey V4 Resin on a Form 3L SLA 3D printer. The linear sander and rotary tool with rotary bit set are ideal for creating a buff, polished sheen on your parts. The pen sander with the 320 grit sandpaper is crucial for large surface area cleaning. The flush cutters, and hobby knife and blades create an easy, safe workflow for any small feature work, such as clearing any small channels or removing any bumps leftover from the support removal process. The microfiber cloth and spray bottle are integral for keeping your parts as well as your workspace clean, and can be used to remove any excess resin on the parts or supports.

Looks like $99 would be a fair price for this kit unless they were tools made by reputable brands. I am a big fan of formlabs and have a form 2 but $299 seems wildly over priced.

You can do it much faster with piece of sand paper without any instruments :) These instruments are for more precise miniature work.

What are your recommendations for PPE while finishing? Should we wear gloves or a mask? I'm worried about breathing in and tracking around all of that dust, given that it doesn't degrade on its own like sawdust.

just guessing, but given that even sawdust can harm your lungs it would seem that some sort of mask would be recommended. a simple box fan with a furnace filter could help with collecting dust

I would recommend at least an n95 for particles for the processes shown above. Personally I work with SLA a great deal so I use a half-mask respirator with Organic Vapor canisters, n95 covers, gloves, and eye protection to avoid the acute toxicity of liquid resin & fumes as well as the tendency to get sensitized to the materials with repeated exposure.

You're overdoing it. Sandpaper in your hand is better than that tool for the handle shaft.

Not good, you should definitely be wearing a mask using the rotary, see the air born particles which you are breathing in,....with respect, re-do the video......and research health and safety
