- What is original Finnish black metal from the 90s about? Who were there to create it, take it further and make it what we nowadays know as "Finnish black metal" to begin with? In the fourth episode we'll talk some of the bands that are most successful in terms of numbers.

Wow, a great selection of bands for this chapter. I would only add that Shatraug combines the riffs of each band very well, without getting repetitive or monotonous. The much darker and ceremonial sound, with some atmospheric passages, set a characteristic tone only found in Finnish Black Metal. great job! and we'll see what happens in the next chapter. Cheers!🍺

Honestly I have a tough time distinguishing whether Behexen or Sargeist is my favorite black metal band. I think Behexen hits higher peaks with their songs/albums but I think Sargeist gets pretty close to those peaks and does it more consistently, been a while since either have released a full length hopefully we can get some in 2025 !

3 great bands!! But horna and behexen is my favorite from those 3! I think behexen have made all of they albums wery strong ,great satanic black metal! Behexen dont have any weak album .rakkaudesta saatanaan is great song from they latest album...behexen have strong truly great lyrics ,the way i like how black metal lyrics must be..satanic ,black satanic magic,occultism.!! Hail chaos!!
I also prefer Hoath Torog's newer style which is present in Bythos and later Behexen. As for the new Sargeist line-up; I've seen some people who didn't like Shatraug's vocals in the footages of their recent live performances , I'm sure he'll improve as they perform more.
Along with Satanic Warmaster, they are the big 4 of 2000s Finnish bm, one might argue Baptism sounds more Finnish than Behexen though.
Yes. Tho in numbers there are bigger bands.
