    Nice little machine. My buddy just bought a 2008 Polaris 550 F with 6000 miles. Got it for 4 grand. Runs great and taken care off. I got 2012 Skidoo grand touring 550F with1800 miles. Great machine also. So much fun. Cheers

    I had a 2001 of these in blue. Great trail sled. Never let me down

    I used too have a 340 fanner, drove it in the dirt and mud didn't hurt it a bit. They're tough, pretty well bullet proof.

      Those old 340 fans were bullet proof I’m sure these 550’s are just about as tough.

      @@rockspowersports Yep, buddy has a 488 same thing indestructible. We ran them in a lot less snow than this video lol cheers

      @@rockspowersports 550 is fuji built just like the 488. only 550 issues are in the edge chassis..... which they burn down from exhaust pipe heat causing the oil pumps to cavitate. I think your may be an edge chassis? 02-05 approx? There are apparently kits to fix the issue with heat shielding.

      @rockspowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TripleAstyle1 Yes I have heard about that issue and this one was an edge chassis.

    Nice sled. I have the same machine but 2001. I've had it up to 75 mph. Just had the carbs cleaned and serviced. I think it has a little more because I ran out of field for top end.

    That deep lug track will slow it down a bit. Nice sled for the age of it.

    I have a 2001 SuperSport brought brand new, the only issue I have had with it over the years is water gets in the chain case and the headlight switch has gone bad, with no replacements available. If anyone has a suggestion to find a new one, please let me know. This has been a great sled with relatively minor issues. My family has 3 other super sports from that era with the same issues.

    My 97 trail rips way harder when its cold af out. Last year we were riding when it was like ten below and I thought I was on a xlt. Just short rips at wot though. Knew it was way too lean at that temp.

      Have you checked on eBay? Or Dennis Kirk? I usually use these two sites for a lot of my sled parts.

    Hi! We bought the same model one week ago. It is used but kept quite well. We use it for assistance to husky safaris in Finland. Lately it has been really cold and it is a hard job to make it start. Do you have any tips? Sparklers? Thank you!

    • @rockspowersports
      @rockspowersports  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might want to check the compression in your cylinders and clean the carb. If these sleds have good compression around 120lbs and a properly tuned carburetor they should start 2-3 pulls even in very cold temps.

      @@rockspowersports Thanks! It makes sense. I will Check the carburetor.
