I like that the laundromat that I visit has two card options for operating the machines. One is to scan credit cards. The other is a machine on the wall that takes coins/bills and loads a card that the customer can use on the machine. I am guessing this is another way to give customers options but move away from dealing with so many quarters. I rarely use cash anymore so the credit card option is much appreciated and useful.
I tell u what. U r a great business Man U gave people a free wash and dry that’s wonderful service right there. I was at a laundromat a few months ago doing my bedding and someone before me used too much soap and the washer suds locked hard core and did not rinse, the attendant helped me by giving me an extra cycle just to rinse the bedding out it helped out and made me want to go back
Thanksgiving was as good as any Saturday for me. I give my attenda to the option to work or stay home, some really need the money. If they choose not to work, I come in and clean.
How sanitary are laundromat machines or how often are they generally cleaned/replaced. Is it possible to contract something from a public washing machine. I’ve been so curious about this?
We clean our machines daily. Plus the detergents people use, and the clothes are clean by the time they take them out of the machine helps a lot. No problem as long as you maintain your equipment.
@@astarisborn9820 We really have not expereienced grimy machines. Usually the grime is outside the machines like the floor, and the surroundings, and this is why we are constantly cleaning to keep the place looking nice.
@@splashemoutlaundromat Thanks for replying, I was always curious of how clean public machines are because people are often told to avoid laundromats because the machines are unsanitary. Your response was very helpful. I love all things washing machines and laundromats! 💗
to troubleshoot, I probably likely plan to open a fully attended laundry store where I could provide food and snacks and gameroom and provide help for the homeless people at all times and monitored at all times and having televisions. What are your opinions?
I believe there are several ways to run a business, and you can set it up however you think. We do a lot for the homeless, but we don't want to be in a situation to where they think they can sleep, and hang in the laundry all day, as it disrupts the other customers. This is why we don't do 24/7. Many do though. I like your ideas on providing help, and providing food, snacks, and a game room.
@@splashemoutlaundromat True on those parts. I was referring to adding a homeless shelter area where they could be at to be out of the way or offering them volunteering positions
I’m building a new store now and I am considering coin and card since the nearest laundromat in the area just converted to all card. We are thinking about going hybrid to have the edge against competition and to win customers over by giving them both options. Thoughts?
If I had it to do over it would be card only. It's easier to load cards, and not fool with quarters. Customers will come back because they have a balance on the card as well. Anyway you do it will be successful.
I would prefer a coin option. I don’t want to get money tied up in a card unnecessarily. I would look more favorably on a laundromat that allows me to pay as I go vs. prepaying. Requiring a card would tell me as a customer that the laundromat hopes I will have a leftover balance I never use. That is pure profit for the laundromat but it feels like a trap for the customer.
@@ThatLittleTexanWoman You can get exactly what you need on the card. Our customers love it so they don't have to lug around a bunch of quarters. I do understand your concern.

Absolutely, as we take all forms of payment.

That sounds like a good option. Yes, all of our stores were pretty busy.
Great video!
Thank you Jesse!
Would love to see your automatic door system for entry to laundromat. Type of door and timer used.
Laundry never sleeps 😁
So true, as laundry is always waiting to be washed.
Smart lockers, where did you get those from?

I didn’t have a record breaking day on Thanksgiving but it was a top 20 day in 4 years.
That's great! This is the first time we opened for business on Thanksgiving, and it was a success for sure.
Who you guys using for the lockers

I can only imagine they can get very grimly/ gross very quickly, or no?
