I hear that one speculated reason the designers didn't commit all the way to Rock Lords is because of legal reasons. Hasbro probably owns the characters because they bought Tonka in the early 90s, but Bandai may have a claim to the toys because they helped develop them with Tonka back in the day. The concept art of Magneous even has a deco that looks exactly like Boulder's.
I was just thinking as to why Magneous came apart in such an odd way and I thought it might have something to do with a combine mode that all the rock guys could combine into. If they do all combine, I do hope that it does resemble that of prime unicron, so that eventually an exclusive pack might happen. But hey, I can only dream.
I think the reason for the legs not detaching is for stability reasons, meaning maybe in the future maybe those infernacs will be able to combine into a "humanoid" combiner maybe ? and magneous serving as center piece ?(chest)
These rock characters are actually based on rock creatures in g1 that weren't transformers but could transform and apparently combine. But in my mind, they look like a different breed of transformer

The mould has potential so I'll wait for a repaint, hopefully it'll be into lapis, marble or gold I think those rock would go great with my siege Ultra Magnus.

Could of used some paint details for like magma glowing in the rock seams, but overall the whole take on rock transformers is too amusing to pass up. Also that chest with the wheels folded in like that is REALLY distinct I don't think a transformer has ever done that before.
If I were to take a guess why they turn into cars/motorcycles (in Bouldercrash’s case), I would say it’s mainly due to the target audience not being interested in transforming robots that turn into plain rocks, and I think the designers knew that so they gave Bouldercrash and Magneous actual vehicles instead of plain rocks.
I actually think the rocky truck alt mode is really cool and am gonna be picking this guy up. Shame on the compatibility issues with the Junkions but i still really like his design the most out of all the Infernacs so far

I just picked this guy up today and I am so glad I did. I really really like the fusion of the "Rock Lords" into the Transformers Mythos. As a kid who played with these in the 80's and got shit on because they were not "real transformers " back then I can definitely say this is a WIN WIN for me now. The review is great and definitely one of the reasons I wanted to pick this guy up, but truth be told as I transformed it and picked it up the attention to detail with the rocky fabrication makes this a figure that's More than meets the eye and Worthy of an Autobot or Decepticon Branding. I might get a rubsign for this bad boy.
I actually love Magneous and his design. Whenever I get a new transformer I always look up your reviews so I get the most out of each new transformer. I see Magneous as an Autobot / Maximal, due to his strong but gentle eyes of gold. I feel like most decepticons have red aggressive eye color and angry faces, where this bot has a firm but relaxed expression. The strong gentle type of you will.
Thinking about it, I think the fact that you can take off the rock parts like armor panels makes me think that the other Armorizers for this line are going to be extremely swappable with each other over being armor for other figures.
I still think the Junkions were cooler and I miss them a ton, but this does look nice Hopefully this isn't like the Fossilisers where they peak with the first Deluxe
I grew up with more Gobots & Rock Lords than Transformers due to cost. So these really make me happy to see now. Really hope they do something grand with the idea.

Unlike your much better method of just slightly lifting the shoulders to free the chest, the official instructions expect you to be able to actually move those out of the way completely. IMPOSSIBLE with my Magneous who was so stiff he may as well have actually been a rock, lol. Now to transform him back and never turn him into a truck again. While i did enjoy the junkions, THIS. I dig this. This is my kinda stuff man; cool Rocks + Cool vehicles? My jam 100%. Only issue i find is his Waist being a little too thin in my eyes, but i still love how he looks.
I'll not be using mine as an armoriser when he arrives as I really like the look of the bot mode. However, the fact he can't break apart like a Junkion is a bit silly and makes me wonder if he's going to be combinable with future rock figures in some way?
Last payday, I found both this guy and Windblade on the peg @Target. I could only afford one and left with Windblade. Hoping I can find this guy again. Hate that I had to leave him behind, he looks absolutely bad ass

Curious if there will be a unique combination specifically with the Dinosaur Skeletons weaponisers with the Rock Lords. Conceptually I love the idea of the Skeleton dinosaurs transforming with rocks they were buried in. Maybe you could make a Trex Rock lord combiner.

Infernak was name of the kingdom, headquarters of Inhumanoids' leader, Metlar. Infernak was located at the Earth's core. And Metlar could use the primal energies of Infernak to animate, stone statues. Giving them a semblance of life. Immediately thought of this when I heard the name of this TRANSFORMERS LEGACY line.

I really like the idea of the Rock Lords transforming into stone vehicles, just like The Flintstones. lol Until they become more fleshed out as Transformers characters, I'm going to assume that all the Legacy United Armorizers/Rock Lords are good guys, since they are actually factionless robots. lol Keep on being amazing.
I think the Infernac squad are supposed to be evil, but in a Quintesson kind of way: they are not aligned with the Decepticons and will screw them as well. But damn, he´s cooler than I thought. One question, though, didn´t he have any faction insignia anywhere?

If you also want to theorize…his weapon is literally a sword hilt for a possible combiner. Perhaps?
Also curious about that especially with the design of Bouldercrash with that spine handle.
This might also be a use of the otherwise limited torso chunk you're left with when this guy is disassembled.

I love the way this looks and I really like the wheels folding in to become his chest, I don't think any other character design has done that
I am not sure if you're referring to a specific group of figures but Studio Series Stinger does that
