But as time aged and they were forgotten, people just went into their tomb and took their gold, jewels, and artifacts. I personally like the idea of a Horror Game where dead Mummies and Pharaohs come back from the dead to claim back their treasure.

It seems like this world/universe/town that they live in is known to be magical. I thought initially in Man in the Window that perhaps it’s a world with talking animals, but then we got humanoid characters and now we have shadow/fairy characters. That’s probably why they don’t get so surprised when these sort of things happen.
The beauty of these games come from the amazing story and puzzles, and the total ridiculousness of everything else. The seeming cartoon-mixed-with-3d art style gives it a unique appearance too

That's because of merchandise/souvenir confusion. Khnum and Heqet were seen in reliefs on the creation of humanity and other celebrities upon the potter wheel. However, these guys that sell random Egyptophiliac paraphernalia are prone to mix and match different drawings of the gods in different settings and one of the most popular was to replace Heqet (the frog goddess that nobody knew or wasn't as popular enough for collectors) and replaced with Thoth (who sold more products than other gods). My guess is that the developers took from one of these spurious depictions of Khnum and Thoth creating humanity on the potter wheel together, hence his appearance and reasoning in the game. It's a common misconception really. People are more prone to buy stuff from the "bird headed god" and "jackal headed god" than one with a random "frog for head" goddess that nobody remembers. Too bad, Heqet is a cutie and loves humanity a lot. Now that I think about it 🤔perhaps this "Nameless" could be Heqet. She's usually coflated with Hathor so, I think I see why she would like to save humanity despite her reservations against their unsophisticated way of living lol

Honestly I was more surprised when Sekhmet popped up and she didn’t have a massive rack than anything else in the game. I do appreciate how Zed doesn’t make the- ahem- “features” of the women in the games their sole personality trait, or a running gag. I guess in the weird and wonderful world of the Zed Technician-verse, most women have huge racks.

Reminds me about how like Toyota and a couple other car manufacturers did the math and decided against calling a recall since they figured the deadly flaw in their vehicles would "only" kill so many people and if they settled an average amount per lawsuit, it would "cost less" than a recall.
I am a very big Egyptian Mythology nerd, like I am a Norse and Greek mythology nerd as well. But as a mythological story, this game manages to do well: The artifacts all have at least one reference to the myths, that was great. For example; the first artifact you found was a reference to one of the symbols of the Afterlife, one that is always with Anúbis or Osíris. The septer can have many meanings, but it could be resembling power in this game, wheter it is the Gods power or the Pharaoh's power (even though the pharaohs were Gods in mortal body). The mask, bow and arrow, "neckbrace", the chalice and bracelet, are symbols of death (the mask), war (the bow and arrow) and wealth (the "neckbrace", the chalice and bracelet). Sekhmet is a good villain, since she is a very violent and merceless character in the myths, so it makes sense for her to be a villain. She probably would not have any servants; since she does her work alone, she does obviously have an army (because she is the Goddess of War), but she prefers to work alone; and the servant would possibly be imortal, but not dead, since death is not in her "juristiction". Her design is good; lioness fur and face, her iconic red dress, piercing eye; everything seems to check out. Thot (which you pronouced wrong, since it is pronounced like Thought) is very myth accurate. It is weird the way the head was designed and also his head is supposed to be green, just a small hint of green could've helped, but he was still a men with an ibis head. There were some missed oportunities, he could have a more bird-like appearence, since Sekhmet has a lioness-like appearence, he also could be carrying a papyrus or just a writing utensile, since he is the God of Knowlege and Writing. I don't know how I feel about him being a villain (at least in the first acts of the game), since he is not a person who would ever use violence and he has an ibis head, an animal not built for any sort of violence (apart from eating small prey), and he definitly would never want to destroy humankind. The Gods never remade humanity, that is a thing from greek mythology, not egyptian. In egyptian mythology, humankind appeared from Rá's sorrow (Rá being the god of the Sun and the first deity to ever live) after he thought he lost his son and daughter. Rá is almost omnipotent and although he is not the king of the gods, he is one of the most important members of their society; so try to destroy humanity is like destroying his lifes work. The time he spent on teaching humanity things like the hunt and giving them sacred animals was so long... So in the end, it is a good mythology game with a small degree of faults and innacuracies
While I agree with the part about Thot, I feel like the reason why he was choose as a villain instead of another god (like Seth or even Apep), is because he is a "smart" God, a god that is associated with wisdom and intelligence, in media there are certain times when a smart character is associated with a God complex (pun intended lol) and if you read the dialogues. He talks about how fun is "creating" stuff and remaking humanity, so I guess for him is just another tuesday and it has become so usual he doesn’t see anything wrong with it. [Of course this is only related to this interpretation of Thot, real life Thot was never despicted like this, in fact, he actually helped humanity a few times]
Another thing to point out is that Thot was despicted in the myths, or at least in one myth as a god who challenged the others in a game of dice and won, which means he is also quite strategic at games which could lead to this interpretation of Thot seeing Sekhmet's mission of destroying humanity just as a simple game. If you read the dialogues at first when Thot appears he doesn’t really seem mad or annoyed like Sekhmet, he even said that it was over and calmed her down with the attempt of returning home.
Not gonna lie as a fat woman myself I love seeing fat female characters. It’s great seeing characters that differ from the normal female protagonist. Excellent game mechanics and good characters as well! All around a fantastic dev
Cool! Another game by Zed! 😄His style is particular but he gets cool short games with a nice storytelling and game mechanics that are kind of inspiring for other game developers. Hope all this experience he and his team are acquiring (and all these video coverages) will motivate them to do a bigger project. These guys has a lot of untapped potential for these 🌟 So far they have laid out enough background for their town to make something bigger. Just here hoping these small games are the prelude of something bigger. On a side note, props for Gracie for being so honest 😅 Technically, what she said is not a lie. This has happened A TON during the first decade of the 2000 with shady companies creating components and disappearing out in the thin air with electronic components that were known to expire after 4 years of use. I know because I've repaired a ton of computers since the 2000 to pay for my school expenditures and the tendency to sell components that would self-deprecate themselves after X quantity of uses was HUGE. I even needed to make workarounds with protoboards, jumper cables and the MSDOS console to "unbrick" more than 120 hardrives from a "certain company" that would brick themselves after exactly 256 uses!). So... Ah, I love Egyptian curse stories! 😆 10:49 if she's not Apis, I'm going to flip this table. Well, she's a deity so either Apis, Isis or Mut since none of them were used in any movies 😛
Okay, while I love this developer’s games for being unique and weird, why can’t a game with Ancient Egyptian gods ever get them right? Thoth wouldn’t destroy humanity, Sekhmet might if she’s enraged, Ra isn’t a moron, and dear lord the only good thing is Anubis isn’t the villain (I doubt he’s happy about half of the movies he’s been in though if I’m honest). Everyone gets the Greek and Norse gods pretty much right, why is Egyptian so hard? Otherwise, amazing work as always Mike, you’re absolutely amazing and always fun to watch.
i think the dev chose those due to popularity and them being the ones that everyone knows or because the artifacts are tied to pharaohs (the pharaohs are tied to the gods because royalty). it upsets me that its so inaccurate.

And there was a secret entrance in that room LEADING to the room with the pharaoh with artifacts.And that pharaoh wasnt one if the respected one's so we can only guess what other pharaoh's artifacts were with them...

Thoth is a bird called and Ibis, it has a long beak. Also Thoth is the god of knowledge and intelligence, but it's ironic how he has been so foolish this entire time. And Sekmet is a Lion and is seen as a sister to Bastet. She's also the goddess of war, and back then when she was born, she nearly killed all of Egypt and the God had to use wine and a cleansing ritual to make her a more pleasant god to be around. You wouldn't want to go up to her just so she could kill you. So yeah that's pretty much the summary of those two, and I think the unamed person is Eset or if you want to use her other name, Isis.

I haven’t played any of the games by this developer, but I’ve seen several of your videos and I think it’s cool that all the games share characters and elements and I think that developer really cares about their work. I don’t do a lot of PC gaming because I have a older Mac but if I do ever do PC gaming, I’ll consider these games

So in the end, it is a good mythology game with a small degree of faults and innacuracies
While I agree with the part about Thot, I feel like the reason why he was choose as a villain instead of another god (like Seth or even Apep), is because he is a "smart" God, a god that is associated with wisdom and intelligence, in media there are certain times when a smart character is associated with a God complex (pun intended lol) and if you read the dialogues. He talks about how fun is "creating" stuff and remaking humanity, so I guess for him is just another tuesday and it has become so usual he doesn’t see anything wrong with it.
[Of course this is only related to this interpretation of Thot, real life Thot was never despicted like this, in fact, he actually helped humanity a few times]
Another thing to point out is that Thot was despicted in the myths, or at least in one myth as a god who challenged the others in a game of dice and won, which means he is also quite strategic at games which could lead to this interpretation of Thot seeing Sekhmet's mission of destroying humanity just as a simple game.
If you read the dialogues at first when Thot appears he doesn’t really seem mad or annoyed like Sekhmet, he even said that it was over and calmed her down with the attempt of returning home.

Cool! Another game by Zed! 😄His style is particular but he gets cool short games with a nice storytelling and game mechanics that are kind of inspiring for other game developers. Hope all this experience he and his team are acquiring (and all these video coverages) will motivate them to do a bigger project. These guys has a lot of untapped potential for these 🌟 So far they have laid out enough background for their town to make something bigger. Just here hoping these small games are the prelude of something bigger.
On a side note, props for Gracie for being so honest 😅 Technically, what she said is not a lie. This has happened A TON during the first decade of the 2000 with shady companies creating components and disappearing out in the thin air with electronic components that were known to expire after 4 years of use. I know because I've repaired a ton of computers since the 2000 to pay for my school expenditures and the tendency to sell components that would self-deprecate themselves after X quantity of uses was HUGE. I even needed to make workarounds with protoboards, jumper cables and the MSDOS console to "unbrick" more than 120 hardrives from a "certain company" that would brick themselves after exactly 256 uses!). So... Ah, I love Egyptian curse stories! 😆

Okay, while I love this developer’s games for being unique and weird, why can’t a game with Ancient Egyptian gods ever get them right? Thoth wouldn’t destroy humanity, Sekhmet might if she’s enraged, Ra isn’t a moron, and dear lord the only good thing is Anubis isn’t the villain (I doubt he’s happy about half of the movies he’s been in though if I’m honest). Everyone gets the Greek and Norse gods pretty much right, why is Egyptian so hard?
Otherwise, amazing work as always Mike, you’re absolutely amazing and always fun to watch.
I feel set, maybe sobek,apois(enemy of Ra, a snake) might fit better.
i think the dev chose those due to popularity and them being the ones that everyone knows or because the artifacts are tied to pharaohs (the pharaohs are tied to the gods because royalty). it upsets me that its so inaccurate.
@@manfacecat8020 Sobek less so, Set’s an obvious choice even if way overused, but Apep/Apophis would have been perfect. No one ever really uses him! Set was the one at the end of the boat trying to protect Ra from him after all.

Fun fact in Egypt only ONE tomb was found with all kind of artifacts that wasnt robbed. The pharaoh made a room with artifacts with the fake mummy. And there was a secret entrance in that room LEADING to the room with the pharaoh with artifacts.And that pharaoh wasnt one if the respected one's so we can only guess what other pharaoh's artifacts were with them...

Thoth is a bird called and Ibis, it has a long beak. Also Thoth is the god of knowledge and intelligence, but it's ironic how he has been so foolish this entire time. And Sekmet is a Lion and is seen as a sister to Bastet. She's also the goddess of war, and back then when she was born, she nearly killed all of Egypt and the God had to use wine and a cleansing ritual to make her a more pleasant god to be around. You wouldn't want to go up to her just so she could kill you. So yeah that's pretty much the summary of those two, and I think the unamed person is Eset or if you want to use her other name, Isis.
actually, ra had to use beer, not wine (that was dyed red to imitate blood) to her so drunk she falls asleep so she can turn back into hathor (who she was incarnation of).

I haven’t played any of the games by this developer, but I’ve seen several of your videos and I think it’s cool that all the games share characters and elements and I think that developer really cares about their work. I don’t do a lot of PC gaming because I have a older Mac but if I do ever do PC gaming, I’ll consider these games
I love the developers for adding such amazing charecters to the world. And as a sucker for Egyptian Lore and charecters alike I hope to see more God's from all sorts of pantheon alike
