This exact version will be released on CO’s website in September. After that there will be a retail release for stores that doesn’t have a chrome finish.
Mine just came from the BBC shop where I ordered it from and it looks like it’s the exact same one from San Diego comic con and it looks awesome the one nitpick is battery door placement cause it doesn’t have and on off switch on it so u have to have the scanner sound as u the cover to access the battery door other than that it’s well done like character options has stepped up there sonic screwdriver game after they got out done with Jodie’s sonic
I remember that too, but why can't it also look completely different now and then? If we're comparing it to an actual screwdriver, how many times have we seen it used as a traditional 'screwdriver'?
Personally I feel like this is a little too far of a departure from a screwdriver for my taste. Yea the sonic specs turned away from it entirely, but at least that didnt advertise itself as a screwdriver.
The toys always make or break a sonic screwdriver design for me. Ever since the 12th doctor the sonic's have been near identical to the screen used props as they're loaned to CO to scan and make their molds as accurate as possible while making some tweaks for better construction or playability. The toy made me fall in love with 12's sonic screwdriver, made me despise 13's and made me appreciate 14's. I honestly like 15's more than most do so this will either reinforce that or change my mind a bit. Who knows
When the none chrome retail version releases it would be very cool if they do the doctors own variants from the show, the Yellow version from the finale looked great
"the content on this channel is intended for adult collectors and not children"...................... despite this specific item basically being made for kids, as although its a "replica", its a plastic toy.

@@therestorationofdrwho1865 Thank you for those specifics.
It’s already available on BBC’s shop website cause mine from there arrived a little while ago from there

The way you opened the box was lethal 😂
Ha. Yeah, sometimes that's just how I do.
Remember when Sonic Screwdrivers were at least the approximate size and shape of screwdrivers?
I remember that too, but why can't it also look completely different now and then? If we're comparing it to an actual screwdriver, how many times have we seen it used as a traditional 'screwdriver'?
@RhysofTime once in classic who with the second doctor who introduced the sonic screwdriver but other than that I don't remember any of examples
Love this and can’t wait to get mine. I also want a second version so I can de-box it.

This doesn’t even look like a sonic screwdriver at all. It looks more either like a scanning device or an analysis unit.
Thanks for this review! Love this sonic. Great job
Aw cool! Thanks for watching!

Love it ...its a womans compact 🌈
If you press it 4 and 5 tines you get different sounds
@@AlexanderHaviland Not mine. Maybe it's busted, but pressing the button 4 or 5 times gives me the same sounds as pressing it 3 times.
not this one, only the 3
@JohnCarlosMcMaster if you press it 20 times and pull out the slide out viewer the light turns red
It looks more like a leftover 90s mp3 player than a screwdriver. Somebody alert DankPods there's a new nugget in town.

I would love to have the green one
I think the red one is cool.
Sonic Remote Control*
That's not a screwdriver, that's a flip-flop.

As much as i am opposed ti this Sonic, i do like the new trend of pitting time lord iconography somewhere on tye new sonics, starting with 14s
Agreed. Gallifreyan looks cool.
50 bucks… absolutely not.
That seems such a bulky thing for Doctor Who to carry about with him. Couldn’t he just use his mobile phone. Sorry I’m not a Doctor Who fan .
@@paulmorris4992 Fits in a pocket and is held easily in one hand....🤷♂️
Because a mobile phone is primitive and not a science fiction device.
