      great video mate, have you heard that you can diFFerentiate Fox From dog prints by the perFect cross in the Fox print and not a perFect cross in the dog prints?
      not sure how true it is especially with the amount oF dog breeds

    HI Richard.. this takes me back to when my boys were small. On the farm, we used to go to the bush and find tracks to follow. We were following a bunny one day.. and abruptly the tracks stopped. There was a splat of blood and few tufts of hair and the bunny was gone. It was an interesting find for us. I love this.. exactly the things I love to do!!😀💖

      I was surprised just how many animals had been about in the short time after the last snow fall. and without the snow any fresh signs would have been really hard to spot.

      No worries, I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Although I live in beautiful countryside I can't get out much either - the first 2 hours and last 2 hours of each working day are filled with answering emails and they sandwich the order processing part of the day - I really need a helper then I can get out more, lol

      If that was the rock one then it was a 'large hiding cave' - link in video description but nowhere seems to have them now. Company bringing them in from China was Betta which is a name J&K Aquatics uses for their own brand products.

    Hi Richard, just wondered when your uploading the video on drum filters?

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will be early spring some time. I am just getting finishing touches done on the new shed so will be starting to move all my gear out of the cabin and out from underneath it too which will free up the available space for building a filter under the cabin for the big pond and when electrics are done properly up there in 2-3 weeks that will allow the filter build to progress, during / after that I will be doing the drum filter video(s) and may even incorporate one into the filter build.

    • @chrisgreen1331
      @chrisgreen1331 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pondguru brilliant. Look forward to it. Would love to see a video on the filter build too. 👍🏻

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We're upgrading the wi-fi around the place as we get proper electric supplies fed outdoors so I may even do a few live videos on the filter building.

    Really cool video.👍Do you carry any kind of gun with you when you're walking through the woods for protection? Maybe just in case Miss Bigfoot comes back for her shoes.

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would only carry a gun if I had permission to shoot on the land but I prefer to do my shooting with a camera now.

  • @crazycressy7986

    First thing i would do when it snowed is go over my shooting land ,i would look out for rabbit tracks to see where the most population of rabbits were so i could then go back and concentrate on that area at a later date ,also snow is great for looking for field markings for metal detecting ;)

      It was well exciting to see all the tracks when we used to go ferreting (every weekend) in my younger days too and it was my favorite time to get the ferrets out and have a good walk about. Having rifles makes you lazy, lol

    I was wondering if you know of any good locations in England and Wales for bushcraft where having a campfire isn't a big issue. I've struggled to find much of it elsewhere and you seem rather savvy on the subject

    • @pondguru
      @pondguru  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't really know as outside of local clubs which have access to land it would be up to the discretion of the landowner whether a fire / campsite / bushcraft goes on on their land. As I know loads of different landowners going out into woods for bushcraft / fishing / shooting isn't an issue but as I've never been in a position where I didn't know landowners I wouldn't know where to start when it comes to asking them permission for various activities - I suppose it would be a case of seeing if there was any local clubs first as that is a great way to learn as you will learn from each other. Way back in the day we would go out into woods with a few of the lads from the local village and build shelters, fires, traps etc. and learn from each other.
