    Thanks for sharing! What are your thoughts on saving for retirement? Being young, it’s hard for me to see that far into the future. I’m more concerned about saving up for big needs that may happen earlier in life… such as having children 🙃 but I also hear financial professionals talking about the importance of retirement funds and I have a hard time fully accepting it… especially since as believers we don’t know what tomorrow holds - what if God takes us home in an accident or illness or some other means of death before retirement draws nigh?

      There's a lot of wisdom in proverbs specifically that points to saving for a rainy day. While retirement isn't the most pressing thing it is very true that the longer you are invested for retirement the more the compounding works. Many workplaces also offer a match that is beneficial to take advantage of as well. For now I wouldn't put a huge amount into ret. but putting a little bit in each paycheck would really be beneficial for the long run. We don't know what the future holds and perhaps we won't be here but even then there is also wisdom about leaving money to those who depend on you even if you die prematurely. This could also be increased as more is made as well. As far as retirement accounts, you'll only be able to take out of your own once you reach a certain age but it can help to have that available if you do plan on getting married even though you may not use it as the wife it can be beneficial to ones husband so he doesn't feel as burdened by it. Either way look diligently to your current "flocks" and still prepare for potential
