I've prolly spent years through my life sleeping in truck stops. No one will bother you if you park on the side with the cars but the truck side is ment for semi trucks. If one parks there and isn't in a semi truck with a trailer don't be surprised if some very angry trucker bangs on your door and "politely" asks you to move.... we only have so many places we can park with a trailer and after so many hours we can't legally drive anymore until we get a break. So yeah I highly recommend just parking by the cars it's actually fairly common to see people camping out there in vans and small campers. Literally no one will bother you and most truck stops have showers you can use to.
"how do they know who's a customer?" the best way to avoid hassles is buy some gas and put the receipt on the inside of your windshield, anyone asks, you stopped in for the night to gas up and get some sleep on your travels.
@@joephillips7612 It's more about the truck drivers leaving trash, pee bottles all over or just standing at their truck pissing in the lot. I've seen it multiple times...and I don't stop at truck stops much...so how much is it actually happening??? A LOT
I've always had good luck just asking the management. Hey, I've been driving all day - you guys mind if I just park it and get some sleep please? I'll be gone in the morning and I'll park wherever you like.... I almost always get something alond the lines of "Oh you're fine. We just don't want people stayin' here for days on end." I've even had them offer me a free shower code. Love's, TA, Pilot, Flying J... all seem about the same. :)

I live in a state that's extreemly hostile to dispersed camping, overnight car sleeping . Here in Tennessee maybe 1 out of 4 Walmarts, Cracker Barrels and Sports shops allow it and there always full. What saves my bacon is I am a social butterfly. Fishing tournoments, Remote Control airplanes&helicopters, bluegrass festivals and last but not least friends that own their own homestead. We have fall harvest also but sadly allot of these rules are from city ordinances and not the state. Tennessee is a lousy place to be if your into free camping, and to add salt to the wounds you need TWO fishing licenses if you want to catch TROUT or BASS. I bring my Upright bass to the bluegrass festivals, and bring my RC Helicopter to the weekend fun flies. And my fishing gear to the tournaments. I have no problems finding places to park in Tennessee but my methods won't work if your traveling through and just want to rest up for a few hours. OH I forgot to mention most Flying "J" truckstops wont give you the knock, but it's at their discretion.

never park on the truck side! same for interstate parking areas. Truck parking is already scarce for otr trucks, they don't need a "Stealth uhaul" taking up tractor trailer space. Park on the automobile side.
Same goes for you truck drivers that take up all the RV spots up front! What comes around goes around. That's why they are called "travel centers" now!

Hola Hector, Polyiso is higher R value (the silver stuff) but rarer and more expensive. If you can find it, I recommend using the silver for the walls. The pink stuff is more dense which works better for floors since it can bear weight.
any concerns about drinking alcohol in your vehicle? Just curious if you have thought about this? I wonder if a cop could give you a hard time if he somehow discovered you were drinking alchol in your vehicle(doubtful)
If you retitled your u haul as an RV you can drink in it as it is a home, If your title says commercial, personal vehicle or anything else you canNOT drink. google: It is legal to have an open container in buses, taxis, limos, and in the living quarters of motor homes or RVs. So it's fine to drink in a limo or party bus, for example. Go ahead and drink in the back of a limo. It's legal. BUT NOT the driver. In Texas, you can legally transport and consume alcohol in certain vehicles, including: Public transportation Vehicles that are primarily used to transport people for compensation, such as buses, taxis, and limousines
Living quarters of recreational vehicles Motorized house coaches, trailers, campers, and RVs that are used for living or sleeping
In these vehicles, passengers can have open containers of alcohol, but the driver should not consume alcohol.
Side note, we keep ours as a commercial because the insurance and registration is less expensive. And it's an obvious conversion. Depends on your state, I guess.
