One Clarification is needed:
1. Not everyone working in Abroad getting the citizenship (Ex: USA,UK & Australia etc) and called them as NRI
2. Not everyone going to the above countries and getting the citizenship immediately, it takes lot if time to get that or even not.
3. People going to Gulf countries, Singapore and Malaysia on working visa for few years and coming back to India, were they called NRI’s and open a NRI account and demat accounts and do the investments??
Consider people other than USA and other foreign countries and do a clear video on this.
Mostly consider people on work visa and who gonna come back to india and settle after few years and they continue with Indian passport.

Hi. I want to add a point. A person who is a resident of India and working on contracts abroad with foreign companies has to open an NRE account since he gets income in foreign currency as wages. Examples are labour working for contracts, seafarers etc....
No need, since you are resident indian, you can continue as usual. But, the money whatever earning, you should file in ITR as Income from outside India.
This money will add to your India income, then based on tax slabs need to pay tax.
If you not file that income in ITR then it will be problem if they find.

1) Can you open Demat account on NRE account and trade? Or is it better to do it with NRO?
2) If you have MF or Fixed deposits on NRE account. Do you get tax exemption on the returns?
1) F&O trading can only done through NRO account. First you should convert savings bank account to NRO account. Then close zerodha account and open Zerodha NRO account. They will provide third party ORBIS pool account. So, every transaction either deposit or withdraw, you should do via ORBIS pool account. You can't directly deposit or withdraw to Zerodha NRO account. Once you convert savings bank account to NRO then contact to Zerodha NRO section customer care, they will guide you all the process.
2) I think both NRO or NRE accounts can invest in stocks or mutual funds. I am not sure about this procedure.

Hi Anna I need your help in some investment.
My colleague died in an accident and for his son we contributed some amount around 1,65,000/-
Now he is 12 years old and having an idbi bank in Kerala as they belong to Kerala.
We wanted to put that money into his bank but thinking if we buy some Mutual funds or something like that to get good returns in 15-20 years Time.
So as you are one of the best financial advisor and helps us in choosing good all the time. So here also please help us to guide in the best way bro. Thanks
As per my opinion you can follow this way.
Total Amount - 1,65,000
As you mentioned child age is 12 years and not going to touch that amount next 15-20 yrs.
You can invest 12% (19,800) in debt instruments and 88% (1,45,200) in equity.
1) Debt (19,800)
======
Invest 12% (2376) in Gilt Mutual Fund
Invest 88% (17,424) in Sovereign Gold Bond or Gold Mutual Fund
2) Equity (1,45,200)
=======
Invest all the amount 1,45,200 as lumpsum in Liquid Mutual Fund
Then, setup monthly SIP and invest 2420 every month for next 5 yrs (60 months) in index mutual funds. Invest in below 4 funds (each fund 605 rs)
1) Nifty 50 Index Fund
2) Nifty Next 50 Index Fund
3) Midcap 150 Index Fund
4) Small Cap 250 Index Fund
If possible, every 5 yrs withdraw some amount from equity and add to existing debt funds (Gilt and Gold). Present we given weight based on his present age 12, so we given 12% in debt and remaining 88% in equity. Let's say once he reach to 15,20,25,30 ages. Let's say he reached 20 age, then give weightage 20% to debt and 80% to quity based on total portfolio value at that time. Just simply withdraw that extra amount and add to debt funds, so that risk will minimise in upcoming years.
Also, two more important points, whenever needed emergency money, then withdraw from debt funds only and after 15-20 yrs whenever want to withdraw complete amount from equity, better to see market trend, if market is in uptrend then fine, if it's in downtrend (20-40% corrected from all time highs) then wait for few more years 2-3 yrs or until it reach to new all time high or slightly near to high.
Note: If possible, first better to take health insurance, just in case if anything happens suddenly, all this investment plan will destroy and can't help this amount for his hospital bills. It will be negligible amount monthly, but I am not sure, health insurance will provide to alone children school kids. Try HDFC Ergo first priority or Care Health next.
For Mutual Funds either debt or equity you can choose any AMC which is having less expense ratio. Otherwise simply go with brand wise HDFC, ICICI, Axis, etc. Choose only Direct Growth option mutual funds instead of Regular Dividend option.

@@swarnandrapradesh1 I am not interested in ULIP plans. Yes, you will get tax exemption under 80c up to 1.5 lakh per year.
But, instead of this, you can take pure Term Insurance and invest in ELSS mutual funds.
Term Insurance - pay less premium (this money won't get back) and get higher sum insured amount.
ELSS - invest monthly SIP and get tax rebate up to 1.5 lakh amount per year. Also you will get good returns in long term.
