That old drill press that you hauled out of the scrap pile would make a great restoration project in itself, provided you grabbed that top shaft assembly for it that you both pulled out of the pile first. That Pullmax shouldn't be to hard to get running again since parts and tooling are still available for it. And since the upper tool release was still working on it, means it's definitely feasible. With some more tooling, that Pullmax is damn near a one man band, when it comes to sheet metal restoration/customization work on cars. You can shrink, stretch, dome, do beading, make profiles the possibilities are almost endless.!

@@LoBeau53exactly. They could have hooked the chain in the center of the drill press. Lay the bucket against it, and secure the chain tight to the bucket, and would have had it out in a few minutes. 😂

A Pullmax! LOL, I am so jealous. It's one of those tools I could never justify buying. If I was you I would get a tank, remove all the electrical and then bath the entire thing in Evaporust. It is expensive but it will get in everywhere. Also you can reuse it for other projects.

I'm sitting here watching this video on my T.V.,mesmerized by the talent of that TowTruck operator. When he pulled that object onto the deck, I said out loud,
    "F yeah, RIGHT ON ! ! ".
GOLD MEDAL 🏅 for that pick.
I'm a retired plumber, because of disability. I miss working and being out in the mix of life doing the sorts of things us blue collar guys get to do.

Like the extra load for the truck. Reminders me of the Ritter dentist stand base (pre 1970) I spotted at a scrapyard here in Norway in the late 80’s… Used it as a center in the living room.. Had a water hose for the plants… :)

I looks to be a B&M Bachoven & Meier of Switzerland. Now I don't have one myself, but know of others and they well made and as good if not better than a Pullmax (I've got 3 of them) I'll send you a copy of the literature that I have on B&M, You might hear someone call them a Pioneer, same company, only seen the name used on the smaller version. Good find, you will love it!

Hi Chad & Jolene, fun day of picking up treasures and hopefully you can get the big machine unseized. If you get it working and set up like the one in Australia you will be able to build fenders and all kinds of sheet metal products. I am guessing that you probably will need to wire your container for 220 service. Jolene nice job of videoing the action at Freds with all the stuff piled up it could be a bit dangerous trying to watch where you were walking and trying to video at the same time! Be back tomorrow to see what Chad is working on, will it be the car or the new toys?

Hey Chad, I just found your channel and it’s awesome. I didn’t realise you were Canadian until I saw the money, those polymer notes gave it away instantly. What a top bloke Fred is, he almost just gave you the Pullmax and the shear is going to come up a treat. It’ll cut a lot thicker than 1/8” I can assure you. My dad had an old shear about that size and a handle about 10 feet long and it would cut 6 mm flat bar no problem. It’s just that it took all of my weight swinging off the handle to do it but the blade could handle it.
    Cheers mate, Stuart 🇦🇺

Cool finds. I just hope you can find the time to get them up and running. I'd pass on that pool table though. It's much lighter than a slate top but at its age, with all the stuff piled on top, it's going to be badly warped.

I wrote the same, pass on the pool table and try and get the pull max up and running or it will just be a lump of steel around the shop. My brother brought home a. Super old drill press and a huge compressor, welder no of them work even though he got them for free they been sitting around for a year.

You are one hell of an artist a little awkward but extremely talented. And you have an eye for what could have potential. I love ole iron that old drill press I would turn the platform to the side bolt the base down to concrete in the shop and put a leather bag for metal working on the platform that way you keep the top of the press as art and can use the platform for a leather sandbag and it might even be low enough to work from a stool or office chair. But that’s what I would do loosen the bolts and spin the drill platform to the side.

This reminds me of lifting up a plow one time out of a pile with my bosses brand new enclosed cab new Holland tractor, about the size of this man’s tractor and the plow curled around in slow motion on its own and hit the fiberglass hood right beside the headlight and didn’t bust through but scratched it up. I took it worse than the boss did. I guess he figured if you’re not screwing up once in a great while ,you’re probably not working and all I did was work so… Crap happens.

In any event, Chad’s gotta get his Pullmax functional, and then hit up the Aussy guy for all the right profile dies he’d ever needs to shape panels, or whatnot. & I was just arguing with a fella last week about how Chad needed a Pullmax and a pipe bender and some other key modern time saving fabrication tools and aids that Finnigan’s Garage channel has featured, that I know Chad could really utilize, but the Pullmax could really be all that, and a bag of chips!…8)

Get the Pullman fixed and set up in the new building. It's not dirty work so it won't harm the stuff in the new building.

The roll back guy was amazing! But did it make it home without falling off into the ditch on the first curve! ??

It is the mother of power hammers, aside from forging there's not much you can't do with a good Pullman, they are a staple in many restoration shops here in the states and very much sought after.

Did I miss something? I thought they were looking for a back glass for the t-bird. That's what the title says.

It's no fun playing pool on a wood surface. They warp and if you are any good at all, you would hate it. If you do happen to get it, maybe you could cover the wood with steel and refelt it. I think you would regret it if you get it. Forget pool table, think back window....lol

He gave you that stuff for the price of scrap! I had a friend offer me that exact same drill press, for free, with a hundred morse taper drill bits with it. But, it was so big and I have a Bridgeport Mill so I declined and let him keep it; I need more buildings...
