ngartola Strange how I did the opposite, switched from iPhone 11 Pro Max to Note 20 Ultra but I’m returning it after one week of use. The device itself is amazing and beautiful but I ended up not using the extra gimmicks after a few days plus, battery doesn’t hold the day (I never had to recharge my iPhone at 7pm like I did every day with the Note, filming stories on Instagram is awful (I know is more of an android issue) and I’m glad I come back to the silky smooth camera of the iPhone
Note 20 Ultra gang ! I love this phone so much and its a very big upgrade from the S10+ honestly, the S pen is a game changer and the camera is beyond amazing.
I traded my S10+ for the Note 20 Ultra. I said I wasn't, but I got $250 trade in offer from T-Mobile, plus and additional $200 rebate from T-Mobile's twitter games. And I got $200 from AT&T. So overall, $650 to put down towards the phone. So it's worth it.

I have a note 10+ I just bought the Note 20 Ultra definitely keeping both of them 😍 I'm sure the ultra will get updates in battery life , that's how the Note 10+ started in time it got better. 3 Years of updates is alot and I'm sure Samsung won't disappoint us especially on this expensive phone
I have to admit that I'm glad I got the 20 ultra for sure. Even though due to installer error (my own fault) I don't have the usual Whitestone dome tempered glass on it, which makes me very anxious, overall this is a legitimately great phone. But only complaint is the battery. I could put the note 10+ on my desk and go to work and not even think about charging it for what felt line a long time, but never getting into the below 50% range, but I have to keep an eye on this phone. To its credit it has a lot of things you can do to improve the battery life. I used the option to turn off apps that I'm not using, and they got me back to the performance I'm used to without sacrificing user experience. I can't say it's perfect because moving the pen to the right makes it more difficult for a left handed person to use, but I'll get used it to it.
Great review as always. I have had every Note since the Note 2. I'm considering just holding on to my Note 10 plus this time though. We will see if I can hold out...the Note is my favorite device so its tough to resist.
I need everyone's help: I just upgrade from Galaxy Note 10 Plus to Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G. I was so happy at first but when I started to use the camera I was shocked that it's not so great or worse than Galaxy Note 10 Plus. Especially when I first took a selfie my skin color was so off like white? blue? washed out? skin tone. Then I took it with my Note 10 then it was perfect. When using a selfie camera if you switch from photo to video it's like using a different cameras. video mode gets great color but the photo is washed out. For rear camera now its different video gets bad color and picture get better color. But if you compare to Note 10 Plus I think for camera Note 10 is better. What I want to ask is this just mine have a problem with it or is this how Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is? If Note 20 Ultra camera setup is like this even I love Note series I been using Note for 8 years so I don't want to leave Note but if the camera is this level downgrade from Note 10 Plus then I may just return it and get iPhone 12 Pro Max. This 8 years using Note from Note 3 I never had this kind of problem because Note series always had a great camera Everyone, please let me know

Love your reviews! For now, I'm keeping my Note 9. I did a reset of it last week because it was lagging a bit and some of my apps we're crashing. Since I did that, along with buying a new case, I almost feel like I have a new phone. No reason to upgrade as the N9 handles everything I throw at it and more. Plus since I'm an unemployed PC tech, I don't have the $ to upgrade to an overpriced phone, even with the discounts. That may change in a few months when the price comes down, but I'm not falling for the marketing hype not the burning desire to have the latest and greatest the moment it comes out.
I also have a Note 9 and I was considering to get the note 20 ultra because my note battery is dying, I have to charge my phone twice in 24 hours, but seeing how scam a company Samsung is, I decided not to buy it, I mean they’re asking for a premium flagship price for an Okay phone especially their mediocre exynos chip with poor battery life and heating issues, instead I decided to get a xaomi real me 6 pro phone for 350$, and wait till next year for the note 30 ultra to see if Samsung will give us all a good snapdragon phone with decent battery life, or keep at their scam policy with the exynos thing!
Thank you as always for your honest and trusted reviews. I always love the Note phones yet every year, I end up back on a Pixel for the camera alone. Since it doesn't look like the Pixel 5 will have an XL version and aiming to be a mid-tier, I may stick with the Note 20 Ultra. I agree with you that the selfie camera is strangely so different from the rear camera. And washes out skin more than ever. It is common to say "Perhaps it will be fixed with a software update" but I truly do hope this can be fixed. The Note 20 Ultra along with my Galaxy Watch 3, Samsung Health, Gear 360 Camera and Microsoft YourPhone is an amazing powerhouse of productivity, health and fun.

Agree with you on pretty much every point. I too prefer the back camera for selfies (although I find myself looking the front cam sometimes too, it depends). Note to everyone: if you get the Mystic Black one and put a clear case on it, it doubles as a mirror! The clear Samsung case with the black grippy sides is what I've been using and it's pretty great. Then you just say cheese, or use the palm gesture to snap the pic, or use the S Pen to trigger if you're taking lots of pics. Love my Note 20 Ultra! Awesome video as always Thao!!! 💖💖💖
Hi Ms Thao, I hope you see my message. I have problem with my Spen in Note 9. It is somehow disconnected. I cannot use SPen Air command. Do you have any idea how to fix this problem? Its been a year that I cannot use the click button on the Spen to capture pictures.

How is the shutter lag on the camera...especially with moving objects? My problem with samsung in the past is they're great taking still pictures but the second there's any motion the shutter lag gets annoying.

So you suggest the front camera at least achieve somewhere in the middle or close to the primary camera? Just like iphone did all of its camera is achieving as close as good primary camera of their other cameras installed.

Great review! I always get torn on whether or not to get the note when I see vids like these! Haven't had a note since the note 3 back in the day. Last Samsung I owned was the galaxy S7. Torn between upgrading to this or sticking with the pixel line. I really do miss the s pen but I often found that I get tired of one UI and the phones and I felt that Samsung's got clunky and battery was terrible after about a year, but I've heard that Samsung has fixed these issues over the years. Is that true?
If you don´t really need the stylus the S20U isn´t way different. You should stick to it. Funny thing is : Here in Germany the N20U is cheaper than the S20U lol.
Hi, Thao! Though I don't plan nor have the financial capability to purchase this device, I'm curious to see if the 120Hz refresh rate or the quad HD settings can be automated using Bixby Routines. I'm sure there would be times that these functions would be most useful, but more times that they'd just be draining battery life. I think a practical method of using these functions would be to apply them to Routines. For example, opening a drawing app would automatically enable the 120Hz refresh rate. I hope you are able to test out if this works. And as always, great job on the video! The visuals are always so pleasant and the way you present your points is always a big yes for me!

Well made video, fun to watch and I especially like that you don't hesitate to mention pros and cons. Samsung should have made it 1 mm thicker, to increase battery and decrease camera bump. What worries me a little is camera. I'm on S10 now and "thanks" to software updates cam changed a lot, and not only for good. Scenes with a lot of different green vegetation look so artificial now, false greens and always some yellowish touch that doesn't exist. HDR kicks in much too heavy also and except Pro Mode - which does not work for tele and ultra wide - there is no escape from this. I'm really disappointed what they did to the camera. If you do a cam test, please check these scenarios. Thanks in advance.

I listen to my note 10+ speakers all the time and constantly amazed who good they sound, especially compared to my S8+, my previous phone. I haven’t even thought of the vibration issue in months till it was mentioned here, so issue has been completely resolved by software update. Buy the Note 10+ instead (actually wish I’d bought reg Note 10 instead of plus due to size) with confidence. 256gb too, never need an SD Card.
I was able to install the Dome Glass screen protector on my Note 20 ultra, and still able to use the FP scanner. The key is to have something heavy press on the fp scanner as you cure the liquid glue with uv light. Why? The glue has to be SUPER THIN on the fp scanner area. Ive done it countless times on the S10 and Note 10 and the same method works with Note 20.

Great video I must say I'm a hundred percent satisfied with my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra I upgraded from the s20 and I didn't realize how much I missed the S Pen as well as a big screen.
After seeing many many reviews about the Note 20 Ultra i get the conclusion that it is better to keep my Note 10 Plus,and not upgrade to the Note 20 Ultra. It has first of all not real hoge differents,and the price is ridiculous high for that Ultra. My Note 10 Plus is still working great, battery wise also very good. I have de Note 20 Ultra since some weeks in my mind,but also in this video i see that making photo's inside with peds who are moving,then the photo can be for 99% not sharp. And this(my) Note 10 Plus has just perfect camera's because it has no issues with indoor,and poor light situations. Besides my Note 10 Plus i bought 11 months ago the S21+. And it's nice,the 1080p screen is only to see it less when you put a QHD screen next to it. Well,i was weeks busy with looking around, watching video's of the Note 20 Ultra but more & more i think "why should i spend money (again) for another device" if I have a awesome Note 10 Plus,and a S21+ who gets Android 13,14 and maybe 15. So I'm a little fatup with looking reviews for 2 weeks and keep these 2 instead of another one. Thanks for your very clear and understandable review that helps me a lot to make a final decision. carolyn robinson I would recommend film screen protector. I know it might not feel as nice as tempered glass when swilling or scrolling but it works the best with the fingerprint scanner.

Concerning the battery life, I got to realize the more you use it, the phone adjusts to your usage pattern and gives better battery life.
I'm still loving my Note10+ because of that Aura Glow:))

It is a Nice Phone. You will Love it. Minus the S Pen being on the Left side, unless you are Left handed. But a great phone Overall.

Agree with you on pretty much every point. I too prefer the back camera for selfies (although I find myself looking the front cam sometimes too, it depends). Note to everyone: if you get the Mystic Black one and put a clear case on it, it doubles as a mirror! The clear Samsung case with the black grippy sides is what I've been using and it's pretty great. Then you just say cheese, or use the palm gesture to snap the pic, or use the S Pen to trigger if you're taking lots of pics. Love my Note 20 Ultra! Awesome video as always Thao!!! 💖💖💖

Hi Ms Thao, I hope you see my message. I have problem with my Spen in Note 9. It is somehow disconnected. I cannot use SPen Air command. Do you have any idea how to fix this problem? Its been a year that I cannot use the click button on the Spen to capture pictures.

How is the shutter lag on the camera...especially with moving objects? My problem with samsung in the past is they're great taking still pictures but the second there's any motion the shutter lag gets annoying.

Hi Thao! I just moved from an S8 to the Note 20 Ultra!! My 1st Note and I am in love!!! Sprint giving me $300 and Samsung giving me $150 softened the blow on this purchase. Since this is my 1st Note, I am going thru a large learning curve, but enjoying all of it...

I really do miss the s pen but I often found that I get tired of one UI and the phones and I felt that Samsung's got clunky and battery was terrible after about a year, but I've heard that Samsung has fixed these issues over the years. If you don´t really need the stylus the S20U isn´t way different. You should stick to it. Funny thing is : Here in Germany the N20U is cheaper than the S20U lol.

Hi, Thao! Though I don't plan nor have the financial capability to purchase this device, I'm curious to see if the 120Hz refresh rate or the quad HD settings can be automated using Bixby Routines. I'm sure there would be times that these functions would be most useful, but more times that they'd just be draining battery life. I think a practical method of using these functions would be to apply them to Routines. For example, opening a drawing app would automatically enable the 120Hz refresh rate.
I hope you are able to test out if this works. And as always, great job on the video! The visuals are always so pleasant and the way you present your points is always a big yes for me!

Well made video, fun to watch and I especially like that you don't hesitate to mention pros and cons.
Samsung should have made it 1 mm thicker, to increase battery and decrease camera bump.
What worries me a little is camera. I'm on S10 now and "thanks" to software updates cam changed a lot, and not only for good. Scenes with a lot of different green vegetation look so artificial now, false greens and always some yellowish touch that doesn't exist. HDR kicks in much too heavy also and except Pro Mode - which does not work for tele and ultra wide - there is no escape from this. I'm really disappointed what they did to the camera. If you do a cam test, please check these scenarios. Thanks in advance.

This really annoyed me too on my S10+ as vibrations were awful, in fact I considered returning the phone because of it, but the vibration issue was fixed via a software update months ago, in April I think.
I listen to my note 10+ speakers all the time and constantly amazed who good they sound, especially compared to my S8+, my previous phone.
I haven’t even thought of the vibration issue in months till it was mentioned here, so issue has been completely resolved by software update.
Buy the Note 10+ instead (actually wish I’d bought reg Note 10 instead of plus due to size) with confidence. 256gb too, never need an SD Card.

I was able to install the Dome Glass screen protector on my Note 20 ultra, and still able to use the FP scanner. The key is to have something heavy press on the fp scanner as you cure the liquid glue with uv light. Why? The glue has to be SUPER THIN on the fp scanner area. Ive done it countless times on the S10 and Note 10 and the same method works with Note 20.

Note 10+ is slimmer too, esp with a case which the 20 has to have to use the pen.
Great video I must say I'm a hundred percent satisfied with my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra I upgraded from the s20 and I didn't realize how much I missed the S Pen as well as a big screen.
After seeing many many reviews about the Note 20 Ultra i get the conclusion that it is better to keep my Note 10 Plus,and not upgrade to the Note 20 Ultra.
It has first of all not real hoge differents,and the price is ridiculous high for that Ultra.
My Note 10 Plus is still working great, battery wise also very good.
I have de Note 20 Ultra since some weeks in my mind,but also in this video i see that making photo's inside with peds who are moving,then the photo can be for 99% not sharp.
And this(my) Note 10 Plus has just perfect camera's because it has no issues with indoor,and poor light situations.
Besides my Note 10 Plus i bought 11 months ago the S21+.
And it's nice,the 1080p screen is only to see it less when you put a QHD screen next to it.
Well,i was weeks busy with looking around, watching video's of the Note 20 Ultra but more & more i think "why should i spend money (again) for another device" if I have a awesome Note 10 Plus,and a S21+ who gets Android 13,14 and maybe 15.
So I'm a little fatup with looking reviews for 2 weeks and keep these 2 instead of another one.

carolyn robinson I would recommend film screen protector. I know it might not feel as nice as tempered glass when swilling or scrolling but it works the best with the fingerprint scanner.
