Another 1st class video . Glad i had the chance to meet you and have a guided tour of your lovely collection . Wishing you and all your family a great xmas and all the best for the coming new year .
We had the petrol paraffin e27n back in the day, then my dad bought a Fordson diesel major and that was a game changer for me, also you hit the nail on the head with men and women being stronger than today!
Love the sound of the p6 !Love seeing the older tractors and combines lot better than some of the new ones and a lot easy to use and repair ! Keep up the good work and have a great Xmas! Can't wait for more of your content !
P6 content great. Also love the workshop time. Enjoy the working videos but would like to see more of the technicalities. For example everyone puts up ploughing vids but no one goes through the detail of set up and adjustments. The beauty of TH-cam is the content doesn't have to be dumbed down, show us the full job. P6 sounds lovely by the way.
Thanks guys my workshop job's have more details, and i suppose when we're out working the tool's are already set up from the last time, but I get what you mean it would be easy to do a few settings that wouldn't be a problem we'll work towards that in the spring thanks for the input 👍
Grandfather purchased one in 1959 and I spent many many hours ploughing and cultivating. We had the TVO model as well. The P6 pulled a 12 inch by 3 furrow plough with no problem in our clay soil. A railway sack folded kept me dry. A good machine in it's day although I drewled over next doors Fergie.
Thanks Peter the cat's will be out again this spring, and I'll do a more comprehensive video this time the last video didn't do that good, but we'll keep plodding on. Have a great 24 ,and thanks for the support 👍
Totally agree what a great sounding engine the Perkins P6 is. I noted on your tractor there is a two position set up in the lift arms, is that for a special application.? The ex army snap bag hung on the air cleaner brings back memories, also sat on the potato planter, that could be a cold job in March :-(. That is a great video thank you for posting. Have a great Christmas & Happy New Year.. P.S. Many years ago when I was a young Boy, we had the E27 Petrol Paraffin model with a winch, that was the only reason we kept it, however Dad asked me to take some seed potato boxes down to the field with it. When I got there instead of turning the Paraffin off to stop it I used the magneto cut off switch, I released it too early before it had stopped - with a huge backfire it blew a hole in the silencer, Farther was less than pleased shall we say.
Love to see the old machinery being used - it brings back some great memories growing up on a farm in Dorset. The implement you are using to cut down the rough grass and weeds (circa 5 minutes in to the video) we used to call a 'swipe' - is that its proper name or a local Dorset nickname?
L grew up with that sound, L steared a TVO model it must be 69 or 70 years a go, L still rember the smell of TVO to this day, one year the lime spreding contractors arived with a p6 model with a gang of about 5 or 6 young chaps because the line was loaded with a hand shovel when loaded one of the lads would take off with the loaded spresder and roar around the field, each time a different lad driving and trying to go faster than his mate, l could not under stand why the engine dod not explode, a very strong engine
That sound is gold we still use our power fordson we have had it since 1965
Well done
