Thanks for this review--you sold me, so I ordered one through your affiliate link. I discovered your channel recently and really enjoy it. I'm just a home hobbyist/intermediate-at-best player, so your reviews of fun, affordable stuff are much appreciated.
Good demo. I mean, for $99 it’s a great value for what it does. Echo and phase aren’t horrible and the distortion reminds me of the DS-1 I had back in the 80’s, all for the less than the cost of 1 Boss pedal.
I have those "Cube Baby" pedals for both bass and guitar. When paired with a noise gate, the guitar one is pretty awesome. The bass version is just great as is(I use it for compression and a secondary EQ in all my signal chains). These 3rd man Jack White pedals look to be made in the same way. I'm likely getting one for Axe-mas this year.
I've also got the Cube Baby - loaded with some much nicer IRs - and I use it at club nights or sometimes performing... straight into a 60W powered speaker - and it sounds excellent! This Donner pedal sounds ok - but it looks like more cash for less capability, so I'll be passing on it. I'm thinking the Tank-G might be the route forward for me - more presets which means I can have sets for my strat, dreadnought and classical guitars....
I'm guessing someone like Jack White took it as a challenge to see how many different sounds he could create on a budget. Seems pretty well suited for psychedelic rock. Thanks for the video!
Nice review. This is the kind of pedal you purchase because of the price. Three decent effects for under 100 bucks is hard to beat. Definitely getting one (through your affiliate link of course).
Now I gotta have one of those too, new sub btw, don’t know why I never knew about your channel, maybe TH-cam can explain it. Never the less here we are… Thanks 🎸🤓🗽
Not a bad deal. The sound is kind of tuned to Jack White since it has kind of a retro analog vibe going thought I find the distortion a bit fizzy for my tastes. There was a nice Van Halen-ish tone when you had all three on and the phase rate at medium. If you've got no pedals and want a flying start, this is great for a basic set. Though I wonder if you wanted a specific variation on any of these pedals, especially the distorion, whether buying three Donner pedals separately might be a better more cost effective.
I've never had a phaser pedal with a level control on it but that could be really useful as a lead boost after the drive. With the rate and depth set low it would just add more level and a little bit of movement.
Distortion doesn't get fuzzy like a Rat when dimed. Pretty decent distortion. Would like to see if it can be used as an overdrive. That phaser is pretty swank. Was that song on the Echo the theme from "Twin Peaks?"

A great demo! I actually enjoyed the phaser even maxed on rate and depth!
Same! Nice, simple, versatile. What more could you ask for?

Loved the Falling quote.....
I wasn’t sure about this one but I think I might get it as bday gift to myself.
I was unsure as well-it exceeded my expectations.
Another great review Emily! I think the pedal would be great for 50's slapback echo, country and maybe doing some Police covers.

Wait! Wait! Do that St. Vincent thing again.
Digging the St Vincent riffs!
Twin Peaks!
i didn't know about Third Man, but i've only good exp from Donner mini's, and was considering a dual of theirs, so i'm halfway there already
twin Peaks at 10min?
Yep!
If the picks had a little texture in the divot, they would be just about perfect
I agree! I like them a lot, but they slip a bit.
Pedal sounds good. I’m more interested in trying those offset picks though…

Did I hear a little St Vincent Birth in Reverse?
A bit!
Yea, that delay is cool. Good price.
Way better than the yellow fall IMO
Meh….I’m not sure.
Sounds great; nice price-cost-of-living-friendly
