@@tj5180 not hating by any means. Barnes is a well deserved allstar, so far he’s the only allstar from the draft class of 2021. Giddey is shooting 42% from 3 and 17.5 pts his last 10. Shocker a 21 year old dealing with a possible criminal investigation, had a rough start of the year. He's not going anywhere.
It seems like a ton of guys at the top of this draft class have offensive limitations. It feels like the limitations were possibly made by the AAU experience. The fundamentals aren't being taught in AAU and it's starting to show in the NBA.
ehhh idk. The biggest offensive limitation that Cade has is that he isn’t that athletic. Jalen Green’s play style is fine. He just needs to be more efficient and somewhat improve as a playmaker. Mobley just needs to expand his offensive game. I don’t see what these things have to do with AAU and fundamentals.
Davion was a pick that even Kings fans knew was one of those, "Take the safest possible pick if you can't move up or down in this draft." We knew he could defend. His defensive numbers have proven that to be true. We thought he could shoot the three. He shot 45% his last year in college. We thought was growth but it was an aberration because he has shot about 32%, which is what he shot every other year in college. This (as well as Monk being an incredible 6th man ballhandler/scorer) is what has kept him off the floor. In a redraft he'd fall to the 2nd round for sure.
Suggs helped take his team to the Playoffs last season, and this season has established himself as one of the best defenders in the NBA. I think we're good with Suggs in Orlando 😂
I don't think this class can be fully evaluated at the end of the year. Like you said, there is a LOT of uncertainty about where the top picks will settle at in terms of their careers. Cade is injury prone and inconsistent, Green is inconsistent, Mobley is fine, an elite role player, but just that, a role player. You can argue Scottie and Sengun are the best players from this class, but I don't think they've separated themselves enough from the rest of the class. I think next year will more or less definitively tell us what is up with this class.
kings drafting an older player in davion mitchell is a huge L. Undersize and not much offensive potential. Kings cant do anything right. They were lucky trading for sabonis helped them; however, they traded away Haliburton. Then they got lucky in signing free agents malik monk and kevin huerter. They did do a solid job in drafting keegan murray. Overall, the kings front office and talent evaluation is still bad.
How tf were they “lucky” for trading for sabonis and getting monk, huerter ? Drafting Davion was controversial but they’ve done a solid job like also bringing in Mike brown as well. U can’t say they were lucky for doing good moves compare to the old front office in Sacramento
Giddey would work well I imagine as he is being limited massively due to SGA's ball dominance and lack of passing compared to Jokic, Doncic or other high usage players, when he's the ball handler instead of camped in the corner opponents can't disrespect his 3 ball as much, and while he is still working on throwing lobs which he seems to struggle with, he'd probably be a good fit in San Antonio however I imagine San Antonio are more likely to draft a point guard in the lottery of one of the next two drafts
@@callumsmith5819 Yeah he is in the worst possible place for his skill. I have no doubt his shot will improve. It got better this year, and then he lost all confidence again. But having a Josh Giddey, and then playing him as Isiah Joe is just a ridiculous waste of what he can do, and putting him in the worst possible situation to succeed.
Jose Alvarado, while not drafted, is the most underrated player in this draft class and on the Pelicans. I’m doing a write-up on him to show just how underrated he is.
I really appreciate the statement “dropping down the hierarchy” . He 100 % can still play. and that absolutely giddey needs to ask for a trade if okc don’t move him . Brilliant assessment mate
I think 3 years is not the perfect time to rate these players it is a really good draft class but I think we are yet to see the prime of these players for example the current form of jalen green who has picked up form and maybe entering his prime and maybe is Allstar calibre player in the future I think 2 years more we really can rate these guys
Yup. I believe the sentiment was (at least from a prominent draft analyst in his published rankings) Anthony Edwards would've went 5th at the earliest in 2021; now there's not a single player in this class you would take over him.
2020 was weak. There are no Franchise or possible all star players beside Anthony Edwards at 1, Haliburton at 12, and Lamelo at 2. And Lamelo 's stock is slipping because of always being injured, not playing defense, & having a minor effect on winning. Scottie Barnes was an all star this year. Sengun was in the running to be an all-star this year, despite a crowded & super talented West. Jalen Green has been amazing the last 5 weeks. Cade is on a bad team, & his shooting & turnovers were horrible at the beginning of the year, but he also missed a year & is playing great now. No one could get the Pelicans to trade Tre Mann and Herb Jones, Franz Wagner looks like he could be an all-star during his career. Jalen Suggs is shooting 40% from 3 this year and is an amazing defender. Kuminga often looks like the Warriors 2nd best offensive option at times, and Jalen Johnson is 17 points, 9 rebs, & 3 assists this year, and was in the running for most improved player until his injury last week meant he wouldn't hit the 65 game threshold for post season awards. And I didn't even mention Giddy who put up 30.and vs the Rockets when SGA was out this week or Evan Mobley who was 2nd in DPOY voting last year.
What are your thoughts of Zach Edey as a prospect? An old-school 5 who would be a lock for the top 5 15-20 years ago, but a bit much less valued in today's game. Do you see a fringe-lottery maybe 13-20 range for him or does he slide further than that?
I saw ur comment and did some digging this is only after a quick look I had into him. He's got good hands and shoots well from the ft line with a decent looking form. (These traits are generally decent predictors for who develops a shooting touch). I could see there being a chance he develops into a very good starting big and maybe more. Ideally he would end up on a team like the jazz, sixers, Memphis or the raptors?
Mobley is limited at playing 4 next Allen. I think he needs to be a 5 to truly grow. Cleveland will at some point have to decide if that those 2 guys playing together is gonna be apart of their future. Giddey will be moved because I believe he is extension eligible but I doubt OKC is going to extend him before they get Jalen Williams and Chet locked up first. Might as well trade him for someone who can play 30+ minutes with this group
Cam Thomas averaged 22.5 ppg on 44.2% and 36.4% from 3 while being the 1st option for most of the season and developing his playmaking skills at the same time. He's def not a 6th man type of player anymore.
as I said before, the redrafting and ranking of rookies should be done every third year in the NBA because this is when their contract ends and the team has the option to extend it or not.
Still loving that my Pistons took Cade #1. Would absolutely be happy with that in a redraft. Dude is unguardable 1-on-1 and has been steadily improving his defense and assist-to-turnover ratio this year.
Are you serious? cade becoming Deangelo Russell??? cade is so much more well rounded, he can develop into a good two way player which already makes him so much more valuable, he has all the tools and has already shown stretches of being way better than dlo ever was. The question is really whether or not he can develop to a perennial all-nba player which is where his talent should take him
I think you are right, and I do think OKC will move Giddey in the offseason. That said OKC doesn't need more star power. They need guys who can play around their big 3. The 2 guys drafted later in the draft who would have fit really well are Herb Jones, and Trey Murphy. Ideally they need to find a PF who can be a connector piece, and is a big rebounder, plays defense, who can hit some 3s, but isn't a guy who needs the ball a ton on offense
Jalen Suggs is the best defensive player on one of the top defensive teams in the league, majority of the Magic’s offensive is transition, and Jalen Suggs is a MASSIVE factor in how successful their offense runs
Mobley definitely moved further down my redraft 1 A Scottie 1B Sengun 3. Cade 4. Franz 5. Mobley 6. Kuminga 7. Murphy 8. Jalen Johnson 9. Giddy 10. Herb Jones.
Cade- very frail but looks great when he's healthy. I still believe in him. Jalen- very inefficient but always turns it up post all-star break. Houston needs to trade for someone to back him up imo. Or just trade him as they have too many wings and guards. Mobley- I thought he was gonna be a bust and thought he might have the highest ceiling in the whole draft but so far he hasn't done much offensively but is a beast on defense. Might actually be better than JJJ because he doesn't get on foul trouble every other day. Injuries are a bit concerning though. Scottie- a star in the making. Already better than Jalen Brown IMO Suggs- slightly worse version of Jrue Holiday. Shoots better though. Too many guards on that team. Trade someone. Giddey- not necessarily a bust but he lost his place in OKC. Needs to get traded soon to a team where he can be the primary ball handler off the bench or as a starter. Kuminga- his dunks reminds me alot of LeBron. Pretty below average defensively as opposed to what his fans think. Keeps improving every year. Might turn to a perennial all-star. Wagner- I never expected him to be this good. Compliments Paolo's skillset very well. Will be a great trade asset if Orlando goes all in. Davion- okay-ish rookie year. Has done nothing ever since. Injury prone. Drafted for his defense but can't guard bigger guards/wings well. Zhaire- so inconsistent. There are flashes of being good then next thing you see he does a boneheaded play. 2nd most bust looking guy in the lottery. Bouknight- done absolutely nothing. Most bust looking guy in the lottery Primo- Has shown flashes and improvement but actually a sex offender. Got dropped by San Antonio. Still hanging in the league Duarte- great rookie year. Has done nothing ever since. Moses- idk what are warriors plans with this guy but he plays well every time he's playing his very limited minutes. His hairline already receding. Kispert- suffering in NBA gulag. Alperen- slightly overrated right now but might actually turn to a superstar. If he can improve his rebounding he could be a better version of Sabonis who's very underrated IMO. Thomas- drops 40s from out of nowhere then scores 10 points in 25 attempts. Ayo- cardio master Herb and Murphy- Pelicans won big time drafting this people. They're starting level players but not really all-star caliber imo. But getting players like them down the draft is a huge W.
i am Rockets fan and Alperen's rebounding really underrated. his impact in rebounding bigger than his 9.3 rpg. i watch Rockets games and he tipping a few rebounds to his teammates every game. he boxing out a lot also. his 3 offensive rpg show he is a good rebounder. he just doesnt ''hustle'' for defensive rebounds. also Rockets better rebounder than Kings as a team. Rockets' problem is not rebounding but 3p shoting. Alperen's way to super stardom in hitting his shots also
@@paultizzard2864 I mean, I think we are talking ABT different things. I will concede he has not had a significant jump in counting stars tho. It sounds like you and I have different definitions of growth. Sure he hasn't had a huge increase in per game stats. But his had a constant usage rate these last three years and has minorly increased scoring volume. Mostly by way of becoming a more efficient player. Imo this has mostly been by him improving his decision making. Taking less bad shots, making less bad passes. Given that he is playing out of his position and is sharing the court with 3 all star (or borderline all star talents) the incremental improvements he has made have been excellent.
@@strawhatsgear5th I never said he had superstar potential? All I was saying is that he has improved since his rookie year. I am not even a Mobley fan I just strongly disagreed with the point that the original comment asserted. He will be a seriously good defender, he will be a pretty good offensive piece granted he stays on the court. I do not think he will be a superstar but I will be happy to be wrong.
Cade can easily be all-NBA. He's got all the tools, the only thing he's missing is the motivation and that mamba mentality. Ivey in my opinion has more desire to win than basically anyone on the team. He also needs to figure out when and when not to turn it on. It seems like the first half he always just tries to facilitate and then the second half he tries, but if he's not shooting good when that time comes, it just kills any run the Pistons make.
its hard to have motivation and mamba mentality on the Detroit pistons, but tbf I agree that cade lacks the kinda killer instinct and the ability to take over games that all nba guards have. That being said he can still certainly develop it, especially on at least a semi-competent team.
@@Parsa-je1vd It's kind of a vicious circle too. Like he can't be motivated because the team is bad, but he needs to lead and motivate his team in order for them to not suck.

Suggs is a 1st or 2nd team all NBA going forward and if that 3pt % goes up then he’s a GUY.

He's going to be at his best when he's able to command the floor and control passing lanes, especially if the Raptors get a man on man defender who can pull that responsibility away from him, allowing to Scottie to shine as a help defender (where he's proven to be most effective up to this point).
@@V1NL0well he’s made massive improvements on his shooting this season and getting to the rim also defensively good as well. Ur just hating
@@TheFireNeox I like Scottie Barnes’s game, he’s a well deserved all star. And he will make several more all star appearances with his level of talent. I’m saying that he came into the league very polished and near his playing abilities. He’s ahead of the curve in that he needs to tweak certain aspects to differentiate himself from his contemporaries.
Anyway you dice it, getting an all-star in the draft is a huge win. But I think he will be a nice complementary player to a superstar, which Toronto has yet to acquire. The team hasn’t been winning much are in line to have. Though they have Good chance of winning the lottery since they aren’t winning much this season.
@@tj5180 not hating by any means. Barnes is a well deserved allstar, so far he’s the only allstar from the draft class of 2021. But I think Toronto desperately needs to find their franchise scorer, because they are going to need one. With their record, Toronto is vying for another top player in the draft.
Seguin should be top 5 in a redraft of this class.
Sengun would be Top 3 right now in a redraft
He prolly should be top 2 behind Scottie

It seems like a ton of guys at the top of this draft class have offensive limitations. It feels like the limitations were possibly made by the AAU experience. The fundamentals aren't being taught in AAU and it's starting to show in the NBA.
ehhh idk. The biggest offensive limitation that Cade has is that he isn’t that athletic. Jalen Green’s play style is fine. He just needs to be more efficient and somewhat improve as a playmaker. Mobley just needs to expand his offensive game. I don’t see what these things have to do with AAU and fundamentals.
Yeah Jalen green is finding himself !!! This guy is unbelievable right now!!!

@ he is still a role player....scottie is an all-star just on a worst team. Scottie easily the best player from that draft even over cade/green/mobely
Josh Giddey was BALLIN
#ThePredator
Would Josh Giddey be a good fit on San Antonio? A PG who can create seems like what they need most. Thoughts?
2020 was supposed to be weak and 2021 was supposed to be strong oh how things have changed …
Yup. I believe the sentiment was (at least from a prominent draft analyst in his published rankings) Anthony Edwards would've went 5th at the earliest in 2021; now there's not a single player in this class you would take over him.
@@raywright8479 😂😂😂
@@raywright8479are u talking about Kevin o Connor as the draft analyst ? Lol
@@tj5180 No, he's a clown lol I don't follow him at all. I'm talking about Sam Vecenie.
Cam Thomas is one of the best draft picks in that draft class he should’ve been a top pick
Exactly.
loving the content brother!!
Jalen green is the player of the week in the NBA and has been going crazy after the all star break he definitely stepped it way up
Herb Jones is top 5 in a redraft and shouldn’t be mentioned by just two sentences. Dude can start for a championship team
Giddey is suffering from the success of his team. He doesn't fit the timeline anymore. He needs a change of scenery.
Cam Thomas averaged 22.5 ppg on 44.2% and 36.4% from 3 while being the 1st option for most of the season and developing his playmaking skills at the same time. He's def not a 6th man type of player anymore.
I want the spurs to figure out how to get Cade to team up with Wemby
as I said before, the redrafting and ranking of rookies should be done every third year in the NBA because this is when their contract ends and the team has the option to extend it or not.
Jalen Green UNSTOPPABLE NOW 🔥🔥🔥
Still loving that my Pistons took Cade #1.
This draft was very good. We will look back one day and maybe say it’s a top 5 draft
This man literally find a video to make everyday
Whoa I totally forgot Jalen Suggs is a top 5 pick. Sometimes it shows sometimes it doesn't

Mobley definitely moved further down my redraft 1 A Scottie 1B Sengun 3. Cade 4. Franz 5. Mobley 6. Kuminga 7. Murphy 8. Jalen Johnson 9. Giddy 10. Herb Jones.
Suggs is definitely more valuable than Giddy at this point in their careers

@@Dawg476lol..he finally has a great coach and patience and you see him taking off. What are you talking about?
Cade- very frail but looks great when he's healthy. I still believe in him.
Jalen- very inefficient but always turns it up post all-star break. Houston needs to trade for someone to back him up imo. Or just trade him as they have too many wings and guards.
Mobley- I thought he was gonna be a bust and thought he might have the highest ceiling in the whole draft but so far he hasn't done much offensively but is a beast on defense. Might actually be better than JJJ because he doesn't get on foul trouble every other day. Injuries are a bit concerning though.
Scottie- a star in the making. Already better than Jalen Brown IMO
Suggs- slightly worse version of Jrue Holiday.
Most bust looking guy in the lottery
Primo- Has shown flashes and improvement but actually a sex offender. Got dropped by San Antonio. Still hanging in the league
Duarte- great rookie year.
Ayo- cardio master
Herb and Murphy- Pelicans won big time drafting this people.
Alperen's way to super stardom in hitting his shots also
Evan Mobley seemingly refuses to improve its really weird
He's been making incremental improvements imo.
We have just been spoiled with bigs learning new skills with Embiid and jokic

Sure he hasn't had a huge increase in per game stats. But his had a constant usage rate these last three years and has minorly increased scoring volume. Mostly by way of becoming a more efficient player.
Imo this has mostly been by him improving his decision making. Taking less bad shots, making less bad passes.
Given that he is playing out of his position and is sharing the court with 3 all star (or borderline all star talents) the incremental improvements he has made have been excellent.

Coby White?
