Thumbs up if you want him to do a "GREEN GOBLIN" Maximum Overdrive Version next. Someone on TH-cam has done one but this guy is the master and would love a version from him or even the DUEL TRUCK.

Perfect timing on this for me. I just bought the limited edition Grand Hauler and it will be here between Feb 12 to Feb 16. In 2011 i got injured during a race and was laid up for a good 4 months and I discovered the semi side of RC. Finally pulled the trigger. I used to operate Heavy Construction while enlisted in the Army and also the Navy. I also drove truck after the Army for about 4 years and still occasionally drive for the Rail Road company I've been with for the past 22yrs. My plans were to buy the King Hauler and stretch it 4 to 6 inches until I seen this rig. Every time i try to buy one they are back ordered and this time i found one on Amazon. I can hardly wait. By the way i really enjoy watching your videos. Thank you. Sorry for writing the Novel, just really excited.

This truck is going to look sweet, that blue is perfect. You're right about blue lights not being legal but there are plenty of full scale show rigs that have illegal light colors too. With "Dual Revolution" LEDs you can even have amber and red for the street and whatever color you want for shows. So you can just pretend your truck is in show mode :)
Great video Bob I have a GH still in the box now I'm motivated to build it I'm doing a matallic gunmetal grey with the gold stripes I like the lwd front bumper I'll use amber LEDs lol and blue on the chassis I'm looking to match livery on a 3 axle refer trailer with lot's of LEDs around the box look forward to your finnished build 😎👍

I want to do this type lighting to my Grand Hauler but wow intimidating.
at 16:41 dealing with the washers, instead of glue, a dab of thick grease will hold them in place as well. Not as good as the glue, but it makes the arms swing out more freely.

You should do a video with the Beier SFR being installed in these American trucks! Might be something different to the Tamiya MFC

I fly RC planes as my primary hobby and I've built up to 1/3 scale. I stumbled on this site and I'm impressed on how you make this look less intimidating than at first blush. It makes me want to get a kit and try my hand. I watched your Globe Liner build which was excellent. Would you suggest that be my first build? Keep em coming please.
Thank You! That is my goal! Really the trucks all build pretty similarly so build the one you like. I am really partial to the Globe Liner because I like the style - but thst's just me :-)
You should replace the frame hardware with chrome scale hardware from RC4WD, that will add to the custom look.
Really like to do a Grand Hauler as a hydraulic tipper truck with diff lock axles and a 2:1 ratio transfer box.
Hi Bob, another great video and you have encouraged me to paint my GH frame. I have been collecting parts and planning colors. My question is, did you sand the frame rails prior to using the fine surface primer and paint? -thanks much!!
I did not sand the frame, just used Tamiya Gray Fine surface primer.

I figure 3 cans should do the whole truck. Used one of the frame and small parts.

I would like to use the longer frame rails for the globe liner what modifications would be need and do the frame cross members work with both kits meaning can I use the globe liner frame cross members with the longer rails?
Every thing fits fine, crossmembers are the same. You need a longer driveshaft and you would need to drill holes for the cab base.
This looks overwhelmed to put together wonder in the instructions give u step by step details on how to put it all together

Yes, but you will need to drill a bunch of new holes.

I love powder coating. Generally I do not use it due to the expense but I have an LESU skip loader I will probably do it on when I build it.

hi bob. why put a 45 turn motor. i thought that a 80 turn motor gave you more bottom end . more power down low with a 80 turn i thought. so of i put a 35 turn motor on a plenatery gear box it has more low end .. ill have to try this. why not do a show on motors what's best for hills whats best for more realistic speeds of a truck. an not. please bob . thanks great show. thank you

can you use the mfc with a futaba 7pxr transmitter instead of a stick radio?
Wheel type radios will not work well with the Tamiya MFC units.

How is the 3 speed shifted do you need a 2nd servo
Yes, the second servo hooks to the transmission and shifts it through 3 speeds.
I’ve seen a metal 6 speed gearbox on aliexpress that says for Tamiya but I can’t seem to find any videos of it could you do a review

TamiyaUSA's website says $580 USD for this particular kit, Not including electronics of any kind. The MFC alone is another $586. You supply the Radio, ESC, Servos, and anything else. It's REALLY easy to drop $1000 USD into just the tractor end of these kits. They even have trailer kits available, too. I figure I could easily burn a solid $2000 if I really wanted to. I didn't even realize just how much you had to build with these - You literally have to build the whole thing from the framerails.

I have used them but find no real advantage. I have never had a set of the Tamiya gears go bad on me.
I'd say if the rig is used in cold temps like how where i live it is -13°F plastic would be brittle and break fast

You want your trucks to have a good scale look and not this box art build crap buy parts from True Scale Rc and Garden Trucking PMD. These places have been building trucks 20+ years not 1 year.
