With an alliance with the BJP, the Telugu Desam Party hopes to counter the YSR Congress Party and chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, expressing confidence about a sweep in the Lok Sabha and assembly elections.
He calls Andhra CM Reddy a “psychopath” and “dictator”, unprecedented in the history of Andhra Pradesh’s list of chief ministers. But that’s also the charge the INDIA bloc invokes against his ally Narendra Modi. “I don’t want to comment. If you compare here, civilians are suffering. Governance is very bad. Not only bad governance. Worst in the history of India, in Andhra,” he says.
In 2019, Naidu had called the Prime Minister a “hardcore terrorist”. How does he explain his U-turn? “You are all creating problems. That is your duty. India is moving very fast now. Now globally India is recognized. My thinking and Modi ji thinking are similar. We are progressive ideology. You are making an issue. Modi and India are doing great.”
But what of the startling comments made by the Prime Minister - calling Muslims infiltrators and a community that produces too many babies? Naidu’s response is evasive. “You may have reservations. By and large Modi ji is contributing for this great nation.”
Despite the Prime Minister’s vow to abolish reservation for Muslims, which exist in multiple states including Andhra Pradesh, Naidu has promised to uphold it. “We are protecting (Muslim reservation) from the beginning. We will protect,” clarifies the TDP chief.
CBN hit out at the Jagan Mohan Reddy government for introducing a slew of welfare schemes targeted at vulnerable groups. But Naidu’s own manifesto promises many freebies. “I want to give fish and I want to teach people how to fish, both”.

You are right. He is evading answers and telling what he wanted to tell. He is desperate for his state. Andhra is facing a very dangerous situation called Jagan Mohan reddy! People have seen unprecedented maniac in him and are determined to vote against him. But the state needs free and fair elections so People can vote fearlessly. Everyone knows that election commission is a mere puppet in Modi 's hands. That is one reason telugu desam party got into alliance with bjp, despite the overwhelming anger for bjp. Another reason is the state is on the verge of bankruptcy and the debts rose to 14 lakh crores. Unless center helps, the state cannot survive. But CBN is hopeful. There is not ideology match with Modi! CBN is undoubtedly a visionary parexcellence!. He is going through the humiliation of associating with Modi and Amit shah for the sake of the state and democracy. As a politician, he cannot answer frank questions in straight forward manner. People of Andhra Pradesh understood his intentions and stand by him, despite he bringing the duo who destroyed the state. Jagan is like Bhandasur! Imagine the scale of war required. He bent his head and reciting the words. There is no conviction when he speaks about alliance with bjp and Modi 's vision. Andhra People understand him. Rest of India is confused.
TDP in 2014 too aligned with BJP and later blamed BJP for not granting special status.

I am following AP politics for nearly 30 years and very first time CBN faced questions from a good journalist. He dont have answers for common man questions . He is losing ground badly and career coming to end. He backstabbed NTR and he is colour changing chameleon. CBN is not a credible leader as he change his stance use his wide range of media houses to make people think he is right.

This CBN is worse, even if Jagan is bad. In his old age he is more casteist and wants his useless son to become CM. TDP would have been much better under leadership of someone like Jr NTR.
