    Ohuhu may not be as good as Copic markers but at least you don't have to take out a loan to buy all 358 Copic markers. $2252.35 for all 358 copic markers in the United States and the 320 marker set from Ohuhu in the United States is $261.00.

      oh I know.. you can buy a car with that money in Europe.. I don't use Copics only for my art so I'm ok having just a few. If you're a beginner or you want to color full illustrations with markers only, then price is an important factor.

    I’ve come to realize that if art supplies is only as good as the one using it. I’ve seen artists use ohuhu markers and make master pieces

      I was coloring on hot pressed cotton paper. It usually absorbs a bit more ink than the standard paper but the colors are nicer :)

    The price comparison goes out the window when you add in refills. 1 copic refill will refill the marker 5x. Ohuhu only carries select refills. I bought my Copics in small batches and sometimes 1 at a time until I had them all. Also its easier and cheaper to replace a few completely than having to buy a whole new set for a few colors. Ohuhu may be good but I feel better investing in my Copics.

      @@heatherwarner865 if you use Copic very often and you have a few favorite colors that you use all the time and you just need to buy refills for those, then I agree. But if you use markers from time to time you don’t get to need refills. Also I have a few copics that dried out because I didn’t use them for a while.

      lol, WHO can afford to get refills for all of their markers that were already 14x the price of the competitors?

    • @heatherwarner865
      @heatherwarner865 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @amberslilrose3954 not all ohuhu shades have a refill. I buy mine 1 at a time. A single refill will last 5 refills making it about $1.07 per refill. That's a lot less than buying a whole new set of markers for 1 shade...cause Ohuhu doesn't sell singles either.

      @@heatherwarner865 this is true! This is why if you use a certain color palette you can easily replace them without buying the markers again

      @madalinartz if you take care of your topics you should never have to buy the base marker ever again...just nibs and refills. I have some that are almost 10 years old.

    I have tested copics and CAN feel they are better quality than Ohuhu... But im a beginner at alcohol markers and I really cant justify 200 bucks for like 24 markers when I just wanna test out the medium.... Im thinking ill buy some lighter shades first that ohuhu doesnt have, and start investing in a copics collection from there! Maybe in the future ill be able to afford more of them and move on from my ohuhus :)!
    I kinda see ohuhu as student-grade and copics as professional-grade

      I did exactly the same! At first I bought just a few Copics, mostly during sales. Then I added more every year. Now I have a decent collection that I can use for my illustrations. I prefer Copics because they are more transparent and I can do many layers :)

    what is the outliner product. I am looking to buy markers for my daughter along with something to make smaller lines. I see copic has outline. Also wondering if watercolor paper best?

      @rae7614 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hello, their Copic detail liners are good as well, although, I personally reach over for my Uniball detail pens.
      For paper, please do NOT get watercolor paper for your daughter’s markers. They soak up the ink so much faster, thus the marker ink gets used up quicker.

      @madalinartz  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@tammygillettVictoryGarden Hi! You can find Copic liners too but they’re similar to other cheaper brands like Sakura Micron. When it comes to paper you can start with marker paper like the sketchbook by Ohuhu or other brands too. I use watercolor paper when I want the markers to have watercolor vibes. But this also means that my markers are consuming faster. Hope it helps!

    02:07 The Ohuhu brush-tip markers (Honolulu) have 363 colors, so the point should've gone to Ohuhu instead of Copic. 320 is just the biggest single set you can buy.

    Thank you for the video! I think one thing that counts to Copic is that you can buy an individual marker. As far as I know, with Ohuhu you can only buy the markers in a set, which is not good if you want a specific color

    • @edgechan
      @edgechan 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I checked their website and you can buy an individual marker as well the refills, but it isn't worldwide yet.

    • @madalinartz
      @madalinartz  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I confirm that it is possible now to buy refills (I think for 50 colors only) and individual markers. They’re slowly filling these gaps 🤗

    • @Oozaru85
      @Oozaru85 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@madalinartz Very slow. Its been over a year now since they released those 51 refill colors. And there has been radio silence on any new colors being added. Whats the point of buying Ohuhu markers, if they don't offer refills for all the colors? I can just as well buy cheaper brush markers and save me lots of money, if I have to refill them with refills from Shinhan or Copic anyway. Pretty much the main reason I'm not buying Ohuhu markers. Their performance and the quality of the inks is also very lacking. I don't feel they are worth the high price Ohuhu is asking for them. I tested their 48 colors set and didn't like it at all. Especially the brush nib, which felt very firm except of the tiny tip at the end of the nib. Even my set of 168 cheaper A-zon brush markers have a softer tip. I think Ohuhu markers are highly overrated. But, if enough youtube artists (who all have gotten the markers and pads as gifts from Ohuhu) keep praising them in their review videos, at some point you start to believe them and become blind to all the issues these markers have.

    • @madalinartz
      @madalinartz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@Oozaru85 I get your point and it’s normal that art tools don’t fit each and every artist. I did this comparison between these 2 famous brands just to help people have a better idea of what they can expect. Of course this is from my point of view. Personally I think ohuhu work for my type of art and coloring even though there are some downs to them. At the same time I can’t afford Copics only for my personal illustrations. They are literally a waste of money. I don’t understand why some art tools cost so much considering how poorly artists are usually paid. Anyways artists who talk about different brands are also making art with those brands so that others can see how they perform. So if you don’t like them you don’t buy them. Thank god we can now see lots of reviews online before buying!

    • @Oozaru85
      @Oozaru85 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@madalinartz I have watched tons of reviews. All positive of course and all were gifted the markers by Ohuhu. Thats why I decided to give the Ohuhu markers a try, And they were a huge disappointment. You cant trust a review unless the youtuber bought the product with their own money. I mean, these markers have been out for years now. Yet there are still new reviews popping up where the reviewer just got these markers sent by Ohuhu. Why? Why don't they already own them? Why havent they bought them with their own money already? There are so many positive reviews all around youtube (bought of course) and everyone and their mom have known about Ohuhu for a while now. Yet for some reason these channels review them now, after they got the products for free? Yeah, I tend to ignore these reviews now. As soon as I hear "I got these sent by (insert company) for free, but my opinion is of course my own", I stop the video. You cant trust these types of reviews.
      Copics are expensive for 2 reasons: 1. They are Japan imports, which are often more expensive outside Japan than inside Japan. And 2. Copics were designed for Manga artjsts as well as product designers and architects. And those are more than able to afford them.
      They are also pricier than Ohuhu because they use better ink as well as better materials for their nibs. Which shows in their better performance. And they have refills for all their colors, I bet as soon as Ohuhu adds more colors to their refills, they will raise the prices. They already did for the refills they sell now. One bottle costs as much as the Shinhan refills where I live. And it has less ink than Shinhan (16ml while Shinhan has 20ml).
      Ohuhus are def not worth their price tag, imo.
