One more year of Ewers next year then 3 more years of Arch. A 23 year old, redshirt senior Manning out there throwing lasers and ripping off 70 yards runs, that would be so sick.

Quinn Ewers is still the best QB in Austin. It's good for Arch to get reps, but the media is way overhyping this. It's UTSA. Ewers has the experience and the skills to take Texas to a national championship. Arch will too, but not this year.
I’m a Bama fan, and Arch was making IQ throws and plays that VERY few QBs can make. Ewers is a GREAT QB… BUT from the eye test, pound for pound… Arch Manning is better. Stronger arm, higher IQ, and FASTER! Arch Manning gives Texas the BEST chance at winning. Ewers ain’t running for a 65 yard TD.
As a lifelong Longhorn fan - super annoying to watch Rich try and start a QB Contoversy rumor when Quinn is clearly the starter when he is back. Clickbair Rich is back it!
This is a pointless discussion. Manning stayed at Texas knowing full well He was the back up. He knows he is going to have his turn under a great head coach and does not going to “compete for the job“ because he knows his turn is the next couple years. Don’t go looking for trouble where it doesn’t exist.
Yeah, I agree. There's just no drama with this at all right now. Although they may only get one year outta Arch. Just depends on what he looks like next year.

Hell, he was 14-16 for 185 and a pair of TD's before he got hurt. He was about to go off on UTSA! The best QB in Austin wears #3. All that being said, Arch stepped up when is # was called a wowed us. He's following the plan and developing into QB everyone expected him to be. He'll get invaluable game-time experience this weekend against ULM and the following week against Mississippi State if they keep Ewers out. Then an open date and OU the following weekend. I expect a healthy Ewers will be ready to go against the Sooners.🤘🏼
Elite upperclassman QB > Elite RS Freshman QB When Quinn is 100% he’s the starter, without question. His experience and the fact he’s seeing the field, processing, and deciding faster than Arch right now makes him the best option to win against elite talent Quinn will sit this week against ULM, probably sit against Miss St (unless he’s 100% healthy), then start against OU, UGA, and the rest of the year. Arch Manning is probably a top 10-20 QB in college football right now, who’s making a lot of splash plays. He just happens to be behind a top 3 QB. Good problem to have.

Ewers was absolutely dealing before getting hurt against UTSA. It’s funny the people not truly connected to Texas just doesn’t get it. Ewers is QB1 the entire year while he’s healthy.
I tell this story to everyone that I use to work as an uber driver and one night i picked up this one kid who said he played o-line at Newman High (Manning's HS). Arch didn't make any commitments at that time and I asked him if Arch told him where he wanted to play college. His answer was that Arch really didn't care about college in the sense of winning. He just wanted to go to a place that would help him develop as an NFL caliber qb. So he's perfectly fine being a backup. College for him is a stepping stone into a bigger destination.
Wrong. Quinn is a junior. What happens if Quinn returns for a senior year? Most people assume Ewers is going t9 declare but isn't that what people thought last year. The point obviously is what will transpire if Quinn returns. If he continues to get hurt he just might return. I doubt this happens but boy oh boy what a scenario.
@@stevejohnson7026If Ewers were to come back as a senior, I wouldn't even be against it. He would be the best QB easily in CFB and would probably win a National Championship if he doesn't this year.

The national media wants this to be a conversation because their job is to create interest. It's stupid conversation. Long time Texas fans might want Quinn Ewers but now because there is a Manning 5star recruit on the QB depth chart there is lots interest as to who should be the starter + these days fans flock over to a school for a good story which is presently Arch Manning.
Why? Why talk about replacing Ewers as long as he's healthy? Has he not played well? Is UT not successful with Ewers? Arch excelled against a lesser level team. Great experience and confidence builder, but hardly time to give him the Heisman. If Ewers can't get it done, then it is next man up.

Two very likely lopsided home wins (ULM, Mississippi State) followed by a bye week before Oklahoma in RRS and Georgia in Austin. Plenty of time to let Ewers rehab, get Arch game reps and have both ready to go for the meat of the schedule. Arch may be the best backup QB in CFB. This Texas team has that kind of depth at most position groups. Let the media go nuts on Arch. Sark is playing the long game and won’t be swayed. A deep playoff run means a 16 or 17 game season.
