I bought the Huda Rose Quartz palette as a gift for myself and I love it! Good for you for not getting Botox, we women have to change our perception of aging and accept ourselves. I value my health and lifelong learning and I work around the wrinkles 😂❤
Please consider doing a 7-look video for this palette. I’ve been wanting the Rose Quartz palette for probably 2 years, but can’t get down with the price tag. I’m so excited this has come out. I plan to buy it in a few weeks.
I'm 50 and happy silver, sault/paper, snow white around face mix, with very similar curl patron as yours. I regreat only one thing .... that i waited at least 8 years to long to get my real color shine :)
I'm one of the people who gave up on coloring the grays...every 2 weeks 😮. I used to be obsessed with my hair and the style and color. I couldn't take it anymore. It was just taking too much of my time away from other things. You definitely have to be ready like with anything else you decide to make a change with. You will know ❤
Bought the Alter Ego palette this morning upon your recommendation. Cannot wait to receiving it and trying it on. Will share my thoughts oncebI put it on. I love to put makeup on still at 66 yo. I'm trying to use softer shades and look forward to the result. Thanks for your honest reviews and comments. Hi from Québec, CA 🤗
I'd love to see a few more looks from you using this palette! I always hesitate to buy "bigger" palettes (more shade choices - because I get overwhelmed and then put the palette down and grab a three pan palette!), so I'd love some more inspiration before I purchase!
I've been longing for the Huda Rose Quartz pallette but am now convinced the Coastal by Alter Ego will fill the bill. Just pulled the trigger. So happy
You will probably love it! I absolutely love it. I was stunned by the quality of the shimmers. I don’t ever buy expensive palette so I’m not familiar with good shimmers 😆 So when I got the Coastal palette I was so impressed with the soft shimmers. I hope you love it too 😊
For the price its good.. But they quality of the shadows just aren't there for me.. Every Alter Ego palette i own hard pans terribly...👎 I d rather wait for a good sale on the high end versions..
Dont change a thing about your lovely face! Aging is part of life and far too many are seeking the impossible. In this world its hard to avoid the constant urging to stay young! Stop worrying; Hes got you in his hands!❤☮️🕊️Blessings
Wow what a great look ❤️. I really like that alter ego pallette. This was a beautiful makeup look. Wouldn't know you had gray hair if you didn't bring attention to it but you really can't tell. Great video. Your a very pretty woman.❤✔️💯❗👍🌹
Hey Mandy, I'm right there with ya, I'm 46 with long naturally curly hair as well and it is definitely a constant never ending battle covering a almost full head of greys.
Lovely, as always. On the tubes that get hard to dispense towards the end, cut the tube in half and use a finger or tool to get it out. You will be shocked how much product is still in there. I do this with all my products now.
I stopped colouring my hair during Covid and have about an inch or 2 to go til I'm all natural and I LOVE my hair! I'm very silvery in front and still a lot of colour at the back, but definitely don't miss the regular hair appointments and only really liking my hair for a couple of weeks after before focusing on the greys again. I'm 53...
I bought this palette last week and absolutely LOVE IT! It is my favorite palette in my collection. I can get so many different looks from it. I hate when I buy a palette that I can only get a couple looks. Those browns are so unique to me. They are warm but also have a teeny bit of pink color to them too. Then the shimmers… they are unbelievable! You can get a cool gray look from the palette, a neutral brown look, a sparkly blue look, a purple look. Gahh I just love it. I bought the brow pencil from that new brand ReLove and it’s really good! Their shades are really good. Now that’s my go-to brow pencil. “Bold and Beautiful” haha the look you gave 😂 Thanks for the close swatches! Love your videos 😊
I can't wait to buy that Alter Ego Coastal! I would never drop the $ on Huda, so this is a godsend! The look you made today is so pretty!!! It's the first thing I'm going to try! Thank you!
Hi Mandy! I love my Huda beauty Rose Quartz palette !!!! I have a bit of grey hair in my part. Your hair looks very similar to mine. Not the color,, the curls and my part is on the same side, my length is similar. I have a ton of hair it’s really think. I’m 53 and thank god my daughter is a hairstylist! It was getting hard to do my own color and when I stopped. I was using 4 boxes of colo!!! My daughter only lives 45 away. I go to salon and get it done there. She treats her mommy like a queen!!! 👸. I think I’ll let it go grey one day. I guess it’s in my daughters hands. I love the look you did. That’s a great palette🌺🌺🌺
The grey hair maintenance struggle is real but I’m also not ready to retreat from battle! I’ve decided to retreat at age 50 (in 6 years) and embrace the grey.
I think I might give this palette a try. I don’t go for cool tones but you always do such beautiful reviews. I always wait for your reviews. On the going gray. I got my first gray hairs when I wast 27. Finally wanted to go gray in 2018 but didn’t dare. 2020 came around and that was my chance. I wish I had gone gray before! I love it.
I love the look! And I have the Rose Quartz palette and it’s gorgeous! I’m the opposite with Huda. I love the large palettes but haven’t been crazy about the small ones I’ve tried.
Suggestion, work with the gray! My sister finally did and her hair looks so good, like the best highlight job….and here’s is more n some areas and less in others….but overall, looks so good. I’m finally getting strands of silver coming in & I’m happy about it.
The Rose Quartz pallet is gorgeous! I thought about it for a year. I'm glad I got it! I hear this is a good dupe! And yeah when I turned 50 I had to start really keeping up on my gray!😢
You are absolutely gorgeous, Mandy.❤ Aging gracefully is something I'm doing too, but the grey hair does bother me a bit. After I donate my locks, I'm planning to use natural hair dye or semi-pernament dye to cover some of my greys. Love the look and the chat. You have a great, safe week among your family and may God bless. 💛💛
Oh sweet Mandy, you don’t need any Botox! You are so young and vibrant your personality matches your looks. And that’s a compliment. Actually you don’t even need make up although I love your tutorials and I love your channel even though I’m old enough to be your mom. I appreciate you and your channel. Please don’t get Botox. Please continue to age gracefully and please keep B in your real, vibrant, adorable self.
I LOVE my Rose Quartz! I love Huda’s formula. It’s so easy to work with, blends itself and the shimmers are GORGEOUS! I hate how she sticks to the same kind of colors though, but love Rose Quartz and Mercury Retrograde. My son bought me both for Christmas one last year and then the other this year
I just found my first two greys. I turned 50 last October. My grandmother barely had any greys and never had colored her hair when she died at 77. She just got the occasional one or two throughout her 50s and 60s, not noticeable until her 70s, so hoping I am taking after her. I've never colored my hair and won't until greys are noticeable.
Neck lines? I have six words that will change your life: Gold Bond Age Renew Crepe Corrector. My neck lines have been so softened and my neck looks 10 years younger, in addition to it being so soft. I apply it in the morning and night and I cannot believe the difference in two weeks time.
My son was born around Rose Quartz release... so it went under my radar. I discovered it recently with Alter Ego releasing the dupe, and I'm am drooling over it. My husband is getting it for mother's day... and I honestly can not wait. I can't remember the last palette I was this excited for. I'll be 37 in a few wks... it seems like my forehead wrinkles emerged overnight. So I got an rx for tretinoin, and I really upped my skincare routine. One thing that has drastically improved my forehead wrinkles is wearing Frownies at night. Seriously, ladies... don't sleep on them. I'll forever use Frownies now 😂
Hi, I use tretinoin for acne. How do you adhere the Frownies if you have the tretinoin on your skin at night? I use the cream base that leaves an emollient residue on my skin.
I love finding treasures at Marshall’s! My latest treasure was Pat McGrath Celestial Nirvana. I had the Huda Rose Quartz. It does not work on me at all.
I’m 35 and sounds like I have a similar amount of greys as you. I haven’t coloured in over 2 years and nobody has noticed anything 😂 my dad was fully white by the time he was early 40s and I’m not willing to fight that battle. I am hoping for beautiful long shimmering mermaid hair and I’ll still be hot too 🤪
@@wplants9793 i think so too! Getting grey hair doesn't mean you lose your style and personality and immediately get a short perm lol. It's my natural colour and I'm gonna rock it ✌🏻
For the record, you look amazing and have aged absolutely beautifully. It’s easy to be overly critical about ourselves especially when, in your case you end up spending a lot of time looking at your own face, but you’re absolutely beautiful. Don’t listen to that pesky voice. You’re gorgeous. Own it! :) ❤
Are these shimmer more glitter or metallic bc I have the rose quartz and it's so beautiful but I can't stand the glitter fallout!! It was a Christmas gift from my mom so I picked it and now I rarely use it.
I got the physicians formula concealer recently and I just can’t get over the coconut scent. It doesn’t bother me in their powder products but all I can smell is fake coconut when I put it on my face 😅
Yeah, I bought two different face products from them in past 6-8 months and the smell is unbearable. I left a highlighter open on a desk for 2 days hoping to air it out. Facial skin is so sensitive compared to other body skin; why do companies heavily scent face products??
I hope I age as great as you do! You’re gorgeous as is. And yes, although I’m only 36, I will never get Botox. I hear if you discontinue use then your face starts to revert back to old looking 😮 I echo that multiple mascaras open at one time. That’s me as well and I don’t review makeup.
I just got this pallette recently and really like it, although it is not my preferred color story. I think the quality is good. Also got their dupe of a Natasha Denona pallette and like it as well! And my hair is like yours, long, curly blonde with darker roots, and going gray. So hard to maintain but not ready to give up. And my grays are coming in so wiry, I am plucking a lot of them out because I can’t stand the awful texture 😂.
I am 67 and my hair began graying some at 40. My hairdresser continued to weave blonde in my hair and it did not show until I was 65. The the hair processing had to go to the next level with less yellow blonde to more of a whiter blonde and heavier highlights. No one has ever mentioned seeing any gray in my hair. Highlighting makes the gray hair blend naturally. It is a natural process. You will still be beautiful at 67!
I have Huda Rose Quartz, I've been wondering if it's a fake. Everyone raves about it and I don't think it's worth it, it takes so much building up and I have very light skin. I'm curious to compare it to this because I'm not sure mine is genuine.
Hi Mandy ! Such a beautiful palette (and beautiful look) ! I’m older than you and still not ready for gray or white hairs…. My hairdresser is my best friend 😂 Have a good day ! 💖
I bought this palette for spring when it came out. I was not tempted by the Huda version of this palette because I am not big on pinks and greys, but at less than 1/2 the cost, I gave this one a shot and I’m glad I did. I use it more than I thought I would but probably wont reach for it once summer kicks in to high gear. Some of the shimmers are impressive but the quality of Huda’s palettes are much much higher for sure.
This is merely an observation, not a criticism, since your makeup looks are very pretty. It just seems that the emphasis on eye makeup has shifted to the beauty of eyeshadows as opposed to how well eyeshadows emphasize eye color and eye shape. TH-cam videos show swatches of gorgeous colors and , yes, the colors are “mesmerizing”. There’s been a shift from what works best to enhance the eyes to the color story and the beauty of the eye shadow pigments/ the beauty of the palette. What’s less discussed is what works best for the individual
Great observations. I myself have realized that my eye shape is best suited to minimal shadow on the lids and to add the definition via kohl or pencil liner only to the lower lash line. That was how I instinctively did my eye makeup my whole 20s and most of 30s. When the eyeshadow revolution happened and stunning colors and textures were available in a cornucopia at great prices, I got swept away into their world of artistic beauty. It's always a pang of regret to look in mirror and realize I reduced my eyes' appearance by using multiple colors and textures but not be willing to give up the artistic fun of showcasing the beautiful shadows! Actually, Mandy's eyes are deep set in a similar way to mine and she is very self disciplined with her application . I admire how she is restricts herself to using and blending well the barest amount of the deepening colors in a way that enhances and doesn't overtake her eye shape... whereas i often ruin the look by wanting to show off each color in all its saturated glory. Sometimes after Mandy has blended a shade, I can't even tell what color it was originally in the pan.
Generally I love Huda more than ND which is funny as in my head I think "Oh wow ND" but I'm disappointed of late with ND her quality is not as good and mattes are chalkier than they used to be. Quality is better in Huda large palettes where as Obsession hit or miss (in my mind) either I love them or "meh" and lastly there are less offensive shades in Huda than ND... I have an issue with color and I don't want maroon thrown into a pale pink/green pattern... also Huda plays with texture. When I look at my palettes that I have bought I see where I used the Huda more... more so I enjoy playing with the Huda more. BUT you're reviews of Alter Ego do me in as I've bought 1 or 2 you spoke on and I love them. I never bought the Retro palette from ND but bought the Harmony and it's one of my favorite. I went into Sephora I tried the Retro and oddly I like the Harmony better not just bc it's cheaper it's actually nicer. Crazy. I may seriously buy the Coastal as it's beautiful and I'm guessing it's incredible quality. Also when you travel it's easier to take an inexpensive good palette than one you paid a fortune for... You look fantastic .... beautiful eye shadows.
Me too. I keep finding out people I know in real life and on YT who are in their 30s and get Botox. Even 20s are doing it because they've heard it's preventative. So much anxiety due to fear mongering in the culture.
I'll be 37 in June and I just found my first gray hairs the other week. I'm pretty disturbed lol I never cared what my actual age was because I never looked my age and people always thought I was younger, but the aging process is catching up to me now 😭
I don’t think you’re ready for gray hair either. I believe it would take something away from you and age you. I stopped coloring in 2013 and love my gray. I’ve even inspired a co-worker to go gray because she likes mine so much. She’s at the dreaded 3 inch phase and I keep telling her not to give up. LOL
Dazzling look! Pretty palette, been looking at it since it came out. I am 30 years ahead of you and still haven't give up the gray fight. If I let it just grown in I will be a skunk for a couple of years. Not attractive.
I’m not going to show my gray for a very long. My hair still grows fast at 57 and during the pandemic I let my gray grow out for shites and giggles. Nooooooo it looked terrible against my light medium grayish olive undertone. Alter Ego is never a good enough dupe for me. I think it’s because of my dry eyes.
Yes, that was the problem for me during the pandemic as well when I assessed how much grey I actually had (not too much, maybe 10 or at most 15 ,% . I am a Winter which already means high contrast and I am an especially high contrast one. My skin is very light, so when my almost black hair gets muddied with silver, or worse, if it ever goes full white, I will lose a huge amount of contrast. Fortunately my heavy black brows only have 2 or 3 white hairs...but when they turn all silver like my Dad's did, I'll be dyeing them, as he occasionally did. The issue for both of us is needing to keep our high contrast, not to pretend we're younger or deny death 😂
I'm 51 and still very feminine and girly and far from letting my hair turn into grey. It makes you look (unnecessary) old. Fight it Mandy and stay youthful as long as you can and want too. This comment will make some others angry, I already know 🤭 but this is how I feel about it 🤷♂️
Not everyone with gray/silver hair has “given up the fight.” There are many groups on the internet full of beautiful women of all ages embracing their silvers and looking absolutely STUNNING! Many of us have made that *choice for whatever reason (everyone’s reason is their own), just as the *choice to color ones hair is a valid one…so please be mindful of that. I enjoy your channel and your content, but it seems contradictory to hear you say that there’s “nothing wrong with looking your age,” and then a few minutes later to say that going gray is a battle that we succumb to, even if we’re happy with the results.
It is sad to me that you cannot accept the aging process without complaining about it so much. Some people don't have that opportunity. Age spots, wrinkles, fine lines and gray hair is all part of life, whether you fight it or not. Accepting it and moving on is so much more freeing.
Dazzled is a wonderful word. You be you.
I was going to say the same thing 😊
I bought the Huda Rose Quartz palette as a gift for myself and I love it! Good for you for not getting Botox, we women have to change our perception of aging and accept ourselves. I value my health and lifelong learning and I work around the wrinkles 😂❤

Where did you buy it from if you don’t mind.
I have the rose quartz palette and I don’t have good luck with it! Every time I try to use it I take it back off!
Hi Mandy ! Such a beautiful palette (and beautiful look) ! I’m older than you and still not ready for gray or white hairs…. My hairdresser is my best friend 😂 Have a good day ! 💖
Does the Mizon has chemical or mineral sunscreen?
You don't look your age Mandy. Very nice makeup. Good day🧡🧡🧡
Gorgeous 😍
I think this is one of my favorite looks on you to date.😁
I bought this palette for spring when it came out. I was not tempted by the Huda version of this palette because I am not big on pinks and greys, but at less than 1/2 the cost, I gave this one a shot and I’m glad I did. I use it more than I thought I would but probably wont reach for it once summer kicks in to high gear. Some of the shimmers are impressive but the quality of Huda’s palettes are much much higher for sure.
I am 90% gray/white and 57 and still not ready to go there. I talk about it often enough, but just can’t do it yet.
I wish alter ego did a dupe for the huda mercury retrograde
You look fantastic .... beautiful eye shadows.
excellent video today.
You're absolutely gorgeous. I like watching someone my age whose face isn't frozen with botox.
LOL
Yessss we need to normalize aging! It’s a blessing!
I'm over 40 (that went really fast) and I just caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror....god I look old!
Stuning
Dazzling look! Pretty palette, been looking at it since it came out. I am 30 years ahead of you and still haven't give up the gray fight. If I let it just grown in I will be a skunk for a couple of years. Not attractive.
Unless a squeeze tube is aluminum you can cut it in half to get every little last bit out. Surprised that you didn’t do that.
I'm sure you're doing what's best for your channel, and I respect that but I really miss your multi looks with a single pallet videos.
Hello beautiful MandyLea 😍
I'm not sure that a palette that is a complete copy of another palette can be called unique
She means the Coastal and Huda palettes color story is unique 🙄
Too bad this palette is not vegan, otherwise I might consider it, like the cool tones and pinks in it. Very nice eye look.
Please hold hand still..do not wave around. Can not see the product with move. I would like this but….
