    Thank you. This is def a good start. Currently I go it to work setting events, but it won't set the title for some reason, so all my events have no title. Will try to troubleshoot, but probably experiencing the "alpha" in Zapier actions.

      Interesting. Yeah, it could be on either the GPT or the Zapier side. You can ask the GPT instructions to always determine the subject and pass it along to Zapier. You can also ask the GPT in the conversation (while you're testing) to let you know what it sent to Zapier. That will let you know if GPT did its job well and sent the subject to Zapier)

    i got stuck on the part adding openai in zapier: which should i choose: OpenAI (GPT-4, DALL-E, Whisper): Analyze Text Sentiment or another one? you didn't show the setup in the video
    you skipped to one you had already created.

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @adenaikeolumide4706, yeah, it would have been better had I created the video with a completely new account.
      The OpenAI category section is created automatically so you don't need to worry about that. You can follow the steps to create a new action and it will create a section to place the actions in for you.

    Thank you Scott, great video! Do you think I could use this method of integration for handling appointment scheduling? I'm trying to build a an AI front desk assistant that could help customers of a clinic book time with specialists directly into their google calendar.

      Hi Anna (@annapoltaratskaya4200). Good question. Technically it would be possible since a custom GPT can do both reads and writes and you could create a type of interactive solution. However, while I really like custom GPTs, for your situation, I recommend using a tool that focuses on that functionality and has a rich set of tools for your customer. They don't typically integrate with a customer's calendar, but it should have a download or link to add to their Outlook, Google calendar, or other calendars with a couple clicks. Also, custom GPTs require that your customers have a paid ChatGPT membership, while a 3rd party scheduling service would be free for them. I don't have one I already know to recommend, but here's a good article that gives some to consider: schedule.cc/appointment-scheduling-solution.

    I appreciate your effort, but as a non-Zapier user, your jumping around in the "Zapier Set Up" section completely lost me. First, I don't land a providers page and had to look at the URL in your browser, then it doesn't show ChatGPT as one of my providers after I figured out how to allow things. I don't see how to add it on the ChatGPT section on actions.zapier. I will poke around... but at this point I have to abandon your instructions to figure this part out.

      @JodyGates. Thanks for mentioning, and sorry for the confusion. I created a video and referenced it at the 5 minute mark in this video to make it clearer for people in the future. I see why it's confusing. After signup, it doesn't redirect back to the Actions site, but instead brings you to the primary site. This video provides better guidance: th-cam.com/video/cTxjnqsmtlM/w-d-xo.html

    Why is it not asking you for permission for every “run”?

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @agoogleuser6937, it uses OAuth 2, which obtains and stores an access token for the connection and uses that for subsequent requests. Essentially, when you grant permission, it receives a token that allows access based on the scope you approved. It doesn't know your password, but it has been authorized to access the specific resources you allowed.

    so im trying this to fill in my entire google calendar with my working hours. Every month i get my schedule.
    I gave gpt my schedule is able to get my working hours. But it struggles adding it to my calendar.
    Im using the quick add event thingy.

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DpJordi. That sounds like a nice use case to enter your work schedule into your calendar.
      What struggles are you running into? One idea is to break it down into smaller parts and see if it can handle it better. For example, ask it to go through each work day one by one and enter just one at a time in Google Calendar. That may do better than having it try to figure out how to do it in bulk. It will take a while to do, but if you can leave it working in the background, hopefully, it's a good workable solution.

    Great thanks a lot, it only works on the desktop version right? Any chance to get it working on the phone?

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Ritze007, I'm not sure about Zapier's plans for a phone version. The last time I tested, it wasn't easy to use, and they mentioned that it's not officially supported. I agree, hopefully they add phone device support.

    Please, you do not show clearly how to connect OpenAi with Zapier for the first time using it. Could you explain anseawring this comment?

      @MicaelBergamaschi. Yeah, a few people have commented about how confusing that is. I created another video which shows just that part. See if this helps clarify: th-cam.com/video/cTxjnqsmtlM/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Scott, would this workflow allow for scheduling 10-15 calendar events at ones?
    I would like to ask GPT to make a week planning for me with certain time blocks, work, personal, etc. Give my preferences and let them do the work.
    What are your thoughts on this?

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @kingMertel. Yes, there are a couple of options. The most straightforward is to ask ChatGPT to create multiple calendar events in the same prompt. It can coordinate for you. I did a test to confirm, and I provided multiple dates and values and correctly created each of them. It looped through the results and created them one at a time.
      Be careful, though, because it tries to be clever. I found that when two events neighbored each other on the timeline, they combined into a single event. So, you may need to tweak your instructions to prevent that. Essentially, though, I didn't need to change my custom GPT at all. This was achieved simply from the prompt instructions.
      Using a loop action in Zapier is also possible, but that's likely overkill unless you need to do something more extensive.

    Hello Scott, I allowed the permissions at 5:36, but when I open "my actions" I don't have OpenAI as a platform app connected to Zapier account. I do have the Zapier Custom. Kind of stuck now.

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Nicole, Yeah, those section groupings are confusing. You should be able to go to Zapier Custom and achieve the same. Some (not all) settings are shared between those sections, and you won't always see OpenAI. But I believe you'll be okay with going to Zapier Custom and still following the rest of the video from there.

    • @TrocSeven
      @TrocSeven 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I followed the instructions and added it to the Zapier Custom. It failed because I didn't have the OpenAI in my actions but before it failed Chat asked to connect to Zapier. Once I allowed that and switched back to Zapier and the OpenAI was listed. I created the create detailed event in that and it worked like a charm.

    Can't wait for someone else to find a better way to do this.
    This is very complicated. It's the pain one has to go through for having to choose not to pay $26.99 for buying that chatgpt plugin.

    • @scottjforsyth
      @scottjforsyth  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @prasannakarthik123, thanks for sharing your perspective. I find it's surprisingly easy, but you raise a good point that some out-of-the-box solutions can simplify it even further. The advantages here are that you can combine GPTs and tools to leverage what you already use for even more power and flexibility.
