Alex Moukala is such a great advocate for just how incredible video game music is. I've been listening to OSTs since the 8-bit days and it's cool to see a true expert like him give voice to all the love I couldn't properly explain.
Watching you react to this filled me with joy even after watching the various different versions already on the different channels. I like how all the different channels actually had different videos accompanying the vocals. Alex had the proper game play vid with lyrics, Husky had the performances plus some "interesting" dance moves, and Denmo had the anime opening.

I would far and wide much prefer Squenix to collab with artists like this who have a genuine love and care for the game. Instead of, eh..... Sia??? I'm really hoping that Sia wasn't Yoshi-P's obsession with "platinum" for this expansion.
I mean.. If they had squeenix's blessing, that implies they're doing both haha. And imo they're projects aimed at/given to two very different audiences. The Sia one is for mainstream and possibly non players to see, and this absolute LOVE letter is by and for the fans of the game already. :P So yeah, Why not both at the same time?
@@hobogray6385 I'm not sure why you would assume that the Sia video wouldn't really be for non players to see, when they've released it on their FFXIV channel? I used to be a hardcore Sia fan, but this seems so weird and misplaced. I don't have anything against big names coming in and doing justice to the game, but this seems like a service to Sia, not the players IMO. Also, maybe knowing a lot of her previous issues in the past puts a bad taste in the mouth regarding her. I believe there was much better talent to choose from instead of her.

I have no idea about any controversy on her end, so I'll take what you're saying at face value for that. but yes, my guess is that she was picked for her mass market appeal and the fact that she has such a bombastic voice that's well suited for the finale of a saga feel they're seemingly going for.

And also, unlike her other channel (ZeplaHQ), this one is dedicated to upload footages/clips from her stream anyway. If you're looking for her videos that are made specifically for youtube, you made a wrong turn right at the end, my friend

The lyrics are good, but the pacing of the music itself feels kinda off? At least for me... I don't think there are a lot of FFXIV musics that are 100% fast-paced as this? Answers, Dragonsong, Tomorrow and Tomorrow... they are all slow paced. Even Shadowbringers themes are mixed in pace IMO -- take Insatiable (boss theme) and Who Brings Shadow as examples -- some parts are slow and some other are bombastic and raps.
@@ikkemenx hmmm, I feel like it needs to have the same "design language" or something that makes you think, "oh, the music pacing is so FFXIV-esque!"... so, yeah.
