Nice review - thanks for doing this comparison. Busy Bee currently has these two Planers on sale for the same price. Would you chose the Craftex over the Dewalt - assuming that there is no future budget for a helical cutter for the DW?

Sorry - I should have waited until the end - you answered the question! Great review

I still would choose the dewalt, both are good planers. Personal choice

I got the 13 inch craftex and i'm satisfied with running softwood but when it comes to hardwood like maple it jams i got to push the wood in ,the rollers make black marks as it spins on the wood and i have it at the slow speed not even shaving 1/32 off every pass try adjusting it cleaning the rollers still jams not very impress!!

If price is the selling point just go with something even below the crafex you can get planers for less than half that price even and they'll get you close if u already have to do some finish sanding

just sold my Dewalt after 12 + years great machine but Dust collection and blade replacement suck - - IMHO - Grizzly G0940 US / FORESTWEST BM10523 Canada = $799 + 120 S&H + tax

Mine cuts really good with the carbide and dust collection for me is also good.
