I absolutely LOVE how unsentimental that first movement is! It is strong and vigorous, full of life and energy, which is perfect for this music. There are many moments where they really sing the beautiful melodies but they don't sappily draw them out with ridiculous rubato. The beauty is in the momentum and energy. (beside the beautiful theme itself :P) David Oistrakh and Igor Bezrody... I shouldn't be surprised that they did it so well. I don't know the cellist, but given this performance I'll look into it. I didn't think anyone could do better than the Toscanini one, but this one might be better.
Did the audio quality of this change recently? There is a hissing sound occasionally in the background and it is quite annoying. And I feel like the rest of the sound is worse, but maybe that's just because of the hissing. And does anyone know what the source of this recording is? I want to purchase a high quality version of it.
Igor Bezrodny is just extraordinary and terrific human being and violin teacher.
So great Igor......Top five russian violinist whitout any doubt.Unforgetable player and human being.
Grazie di cuore per questo dono magnifico .
Igor Bezrodni era una gran y generosa persona'-violinista. La grandeza humana de David también lo es.
Bezrodny was a fine musician and teacher. Much less known than had he been promoted in England or America. A truly lovely man with great humour.
Great playing by both soloists! And DFO, for instance, "knows what it's about" second to none... Bravo!
Besrodny, ein grosser Meister

Homitzer was such a strong personality, studied with him... they had a great trio with Bashkirov
Glorious

Rusia no ha dejado de parir artistas, sobre todo violinistas.
Класс! Жаль, звук не очень...
