This is beyond important. This is beyond powerful. This is beyond necessary. Laverne does such an amazing job at everything she does. She teaches trans people to validate themselves, to brush off other people's bullshit, that they ARE beautiful and loved and important. And beside that, she educates cis people about everything that's going on. Clearly. In detail. With examples. Laverne Cox is living proof that trans people (of color) are beautiful, valid, smart, amazing, honest and just human in general, despite everything the mainstream media tries to make us believe (as she said). I'm dying to see more of this woman, and I can only hope I can meet her one day. Lots of love.

You are not to instruct people on what's 'right' when they're being who they are. Only they have the power to do that. If you think otherwise, then FUCK YOU because these people are powerful and amazing and *you will not win*. Against it or not (which you shouldn't be) - you do not have the right to dictate someone else's life and/or identity.
Trans women of color yes, very persecuted. I am a 61 yr old White Trans woman who also gets beat, yelled out, and the system has given me charges unfounded and unfair for protecting myself as well here in Minneapolis. You Rock Laverne, as does CC!
