Ive been a Michigan resident all my life so I’m used to the cold BUT, even with that being said, extreme below freezing weather is A LOT-its actually the freaking worse. So, I can’t imagine being a southerner all my life then bam 💥 a snow apocalypse hits with no warning. Southern states just don’t have the infrastructure to handle freezing weather. My heart goes out to all Texans that had to endure this. I’m glad things are going back to normal. 🖤

I lived through this iceapocalypse in this city it was tough for me, I've never stood on line for almost an hour to check out at the grocery store, shelves were 90% empty, bottled water was literally a prized possession, I was freezing in my apt. I'm grateful for everything, was able to assist at a center that were distributing basic essential donations.
Us new yorkers dealt with so much more snow & never have to experience anything like that which goes to show how much we shouldn’t take things for granted. It was crazy to see on the news
This a hard time for everyone living in Texas we don’t have water I live in Texas we don’t have water our school made a donation to families who don’t have food and water

Yeah I also live in the Dallas area, that I goodness the night before I listened to the news and got food, lasted for about a week and 4 days, which was great.
Raven you're so smart! I've seen so many people who didn't know what to do and you figured out all of the main things to remember in a snowstorm by yourself.
Girl, we're in Houston. We had now power for over 48 hours and I had a 10 month old. I could literally see my own breathe in the house and decided to go stay with my sister in law. Went back to the house to find out we had 2 busted pipes so here goes 2.5 months of repair
Why did Ziya check you twice 🤣 First about not bringing Bougie in a carrier with you. Secondly letting the water run. Smart child. My daughter checks me often 🤷🏾♀️😩🤣🤣🤣
Because Ziya is like her momma. She cares about other people in her life…not just herself. Also I have a tip(to not go against a 4 year old)but people will tell you that if you do have running water…when you aren’t using it, try to just let it drip if it’s freezing outside because just shutting it off completely…in freezing temperatures; could cause a pipe to bust.
I had a whole emergency c section during this winter storm. My mom and son were without power for 38 hours had to go stay with somebody it was too much🥺
Raven you already know my prayers went up for the whole Family & all the good people around the way... Thank GOD everyone made it through this storm safe. Chef Toni hooked that meal with authority & Dad wrapped in those pipes like a Professional, Great Job Dad!!! #StayBlessed...🌸🌷🌸
Beautiful house you've really been blessed. I live how you express how uncomfortable this had made you, yet I still sense your grateful even in spite of.
My parents, siblings, and family are all located in Louisiana and Texas. I knew the winter storm hit hard for them but this video really proved how bad it actually was. I’m so glad you all are safe.
Tiffany Tillett that’s interesting. It was my understanding that solar panels are able to hold a charge to be used when there is no sun, because obviously every day is not sunny. I live in the northeast where we get snow regularly and solar panels are fairly prevalent. Depending on the type of panel you have is how much charge you’re able to hold.
@@TheAnonymous1912 from what they said, you have to pay for extra infrastructure in order to do that and not everyone does. Not sure what the cost difference is

This was such a good long vlog. I've been through this before and it is not the worst thing but a challenge to do without water especially. I love how you show us "everything" in a real way... you keep it real basically. Not always glamorous like some on these platforms do. It make you seem more genuine and so relatable and I want to watch your vlogs more because is makes me not worry about how I look all the time. We weren't born with makeup so I don't know why I worry about it at all. Thanks for sharing Raven.
Glad to hear you all were safe and able to be together. It is so easy to take the things we have for granted! I remember when I was younger and my mom and I lived in our apartment in Brooklyn, there will be times that there was no hot water. so she would get a trash bag and lay it out and fill my personal bathtub with hot water that she boiled on the stove. I feel like that’s why I always wanted to have a gas stove too, since I was used to having freezing cold weather or just losing power. But I am so far removed from right now that watching you bathe Ziya brought back those memories.

Raven i would consider an emergency kit if anything like this should ever happen again. (Canned goods, batteries, flashlights, candles, blankets, bottled water, etc) this is how we survive on the east coast when its hurricane season
Yes and a camping stove with extra cans of fuel so you can have something to cook on.
Barbcue grill to cook
@@cassandra8467 you can't cook on a bbq inside (carbon monoxide) and you don't want to go outside in the freexing cold to cook your food.
Besides her BBQ runs on natural gas and her gas was out.
Yess and pls invest in a generator
@@SjofnBM1989 we like to use bbq in the driveway to cook as needed or gAs grill with portable/refillable propane tanks. No natural gas source needed for those
Girl I feel your pain. My saving grace was that I live near two big hospital so I had heat and electricity (on the same electric grid and them). I am so glad that you guys didn't have major damage to your houses and that everyone was safe.
The fact that you were able to still laugh at yourself and be appreciative for what you had in those horrible times was inspiring !!! Shoutout to you. Happy that you all had each other and made it through.
This whole video was so entertaining and eye opening at the same time. I’m glad you all are okay!
And OMGGGGG I’m so glad Ziya is still loving her custom tumbler from me and that you all get good use out of them. As a small business owner this makes my heart smile so much! ❤️
Your mom is a survivor , taking notes in case Florida ever get in the deep freeze. My prayers for Texas
Suggest getting a generator, large bottles of water (e.g. 5 or more liters), canned food, manual can opener, camping stove and propane tanks for it. Glad to see you all managed reasonably well! Love from Ontario, Canada
I am so happy y’all are okay girl! TX strong for real!
"I'm calling daddy"!
Regardless of what y'all were dealing with, I'm glad to hear that y'all, you and your family are doing okay, thankfully you didn't get any major issues that occurred, and although you walked your parents was nearby.
My heart and prayers went out and still goes out to those who are in Texas or near that area! Although everything may be back, I still hope that everyone is just staying safe and being mindful of others!
Be grateful for what you have because it could always be worse.
ziya love her some grammy house she don’t care why she there she just love being there lmao
She love her some Grammy and papa
Texas government and leaders handled this situation so poorly. All I could think about was folks with disabilities, my goodness. Glad it didn’t last too long but, it was long enough
Fr the government didn’t do shit fr
What's sad is that even since they have yet to do anything for winterizing our power grids smfh
I’m so proud of you girl! You’ve remained positive and proactive! Praying for all of Texas !
We really had it rough in Texas.😞 Thank heavens we made it through. 🙏💕 for those who loss loved ones, and those still struggling.
I don’t be wanting to leave my granny house either! It’s always more fun at grannies! She so cute!
“who you calling?”
“I’m calling daddy”
My heart melted.
Amen, you never know what you got til it is gone. Don't forget to get your safety gear everyone. Stay prayed up too.
I’m so glad that you and your family are ok. I must say, this is a great inside view/documentary of what’s been going on in Texas over the last few weeks. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.❤️
So grateful that you have the village that you have! Love the bond between your family! Glad you all didn't get the worse of it all! Much love & light!
Raven is deadass like an old friend she was like “y’all know how I am with cars” and I was like “mmhhhmm” like a southern mama, flashbacks to when Ziya was really small and she bosses up and got over her drivers anxiety ❤️❤️❤️😩😩😩😩👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💓💓💓💓
RAVEN!!! Did you realize that you used the same pitcher to rinse Ziya off when she was a newborn on Ray’s Week 30- “My First Mother’s Day” 💕
Wow, watching your video is making me re-live this entire experience from just 2 weeks ago. So thankful that you and your family are doing much better. My heart and prayers remain with my fellow Texans still recovering from our winter storm experience.
Being in this storm made me realized not to take things for granted! Longest 3 days but I realized I was blessed to at least have shelter
The flashbacks I’m having watching this 😣 (I’m in Dallas). I’m glad you were able to vlog this experience though! Everyone was macGuyver-ing everything to eat, stay warm, bathe, etc. It’s the resilience for me 💪🏾🙌🏾🇨🇱
Raven you are so lucky to have a Dad like yours he not only helped you be he helped the neighbors. Can I adopt him and mom is great too!! Glad you guys are good!
Small things matter we are all so grateful to eat and breathe air. Until it’s taken away appreciate everything you have you never know when it’s gone.
Ziyah: "I think we should turn the water off so we don't waste it."
I know yal water bill low asf at the house😂🙌🏾🙌🏾
once your parents have gotten the living room fully dry again they need to have someone come and investigate for potential mold that could have formend in/behind the walls - that can be a serious health hazard
Hey Raven, glad you & your family have done well throughout this debacle. Looking forward to the survival/prepper Raven vlogs to come! Maybe it can be a series that your & your mom put together to inform others of the best things to have & do. I think that’s a cool content idea. Blessings to you guys!
So glad you all are okay. Also LOVE that you and your neighbors and parents neighbors all look out for each other! That’s what community is all about!!
Wow, what an experience! Thank God for parents, especially the ones who know how to survive in situations like this. Happy you guys had no significant damage and all is well now. You may want to look into getting a back up generator.
All I could think of was the meme: “I don’t need no ride, they tryna pick me up”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️

I stay in Minnesota. Sending positive vibes to everyone in Texas experiencing this or worse!! It’s a blessing your family is pulling through 🙌🏾❤️
That’s good!
I love how selfless Raven is, I love her so much 💕
I’m so proud of how you deal with everything as a mom💖
It’s your dad helping all the neighbors for me. 🥺🙏🏼
1 HOUR - RAVEN VIDEOS ARE WHAT I HAVE BEEN NEEDING IN MY LIFE AGAIN 🥺❤️❤️
Not me having flashbacks! What a crazy week for Texans. Glad y’all are okay!
You have the best attitude and personality. I really enjoyed this video. So glad you guys are okay.
This a hard time for everyone living in Texas we don’t have water I live in Texas we don’t have water our school made a donation to families who don’t have food and water
When it was snowing our water just completely froze
Awful. As a Canadian the temps in Texas aren’t very cold to me but having no water, heat or electricity? Hell nahhhhhhh
@@Jashleya199 Yea, we've had a pretty mild winter here in Canada this year. Strange, definitely global warming.
@@iyeshad5691 idk about that haha! It was -44 here last week 😅
@@Jashleya199 oh yikes. I'm in Mississauga not sure where you are but it been pretty good here lol. Last week was the most snow we've seen all winter
Wow. The little things are so precious. You can lose everything instantly. Thank god you guys made it work and are ok. Thanks for sharing this experience. I am for sure thankful for what I have and the little things I do do here in the city of Chicago. Youre so strong and an amazing mom. Now get back to your life and keep killing it.
Girl it was 32 degrees in my house when all that foolishness happened! They didn’t roll nothing my way! My electricity was off for 4 days & I didn’t have water 😩😩 (i live in DALLASka btw)
Girl we were in the same boat. When I was talking to me husband and seen smoke coming out of my mouth I said its time to go to the car. I don't know what the temp was inside but we started getting numbness in our feet. Thank God both our cars was full of gas. 3 days blacked out.
@@tiffday41 im so sorry to hear that! Yea they are dead wrong for that! I went to my car several times with my little 1 & by day 2 i was finally able to find and book a room!
Yeah I also live in the Dallas area, that I goodness the night before I listened to the news and got food, lasted for about a week and 4 days, which was great.
Cap
Raven you're so smart! I've seen so many people who didn't know what to do and you figured out all of the main things to remember in a snowstorm by yourself.
When the camera panned to Chef Toni with the flashlight in the headband I absolutely lost it 😂
Girl, we're in Houston. We had now power for over 48 hours and I had a 10 month old. I could literally see my own breathe in the house and decided to go stay with my sister in law. Went back to the house to find out we had 2 busted pipes so here goes 2.5 months of repair
damn I’m sorry!!!
I 🙏🏾🙏🏾 that all provisions are met for you and your family 🙏🏾🙏🏾
how much does it cost to fix
@@reese1337 restoration told us $78k. Thank God for insurance
My mom and son were without power for 38 hours had to go stay with somebody it was too much🥺
I was pregnant and cold and hungry🥺
Omg hope yal are ok!
@@lexxischevonne delivered a healthy baby thank god at 35 weeks but it was a very stressful situation

Thank you for sharing this experience with us. Glad you okay! You right, we tend to take thing for granted until we have it no more.
My parents, siblings, and family are all located in Louisiana and Texas. I knew the winter storm hit hard for them but this video really proved how bad it actually was. I’m so glad you all are safe.
Depending on your roof situation, maybe look into getting some solar panels so that you'll at least have power.
Right and a generator
People in my neighborhood have solar and they said they didn’t really do much cuz they were covered in snow. It would likely be the same in hers
Not sure what the cost difference is
@@ttillett13 they need to have power stores (basically giant rechargeable batteries lol).
I’m so sorry you guys had to go through this I’m sure you guys must’ve been freezing cold, but I’m glad you guys at least had a roof over your head and at least had jackets and blankets. You are such a great Mom Raven and Zaya is so sweet saying you should turn the water off, so you don’t waste it such a smart kid. Love you guys 💗🤍💛🥹
Happy y’all are ok with minimal damage. Dang Mother Nature don’t quit, not in a panny, not in a snowstorm.
I’ve been waiting for part two and it’s finally here😁
I’m so happy for you and your family Raven!
Thank The Lord for your parents!!!! You’re really fortunate to have them so close to you 🙏🏾❤️
Ziya is so smart she didn’t want to waste the water 🥺
