- Today we talked about why Trinidad is in a chair and his journey with united regional in Lubbock. We tell our story just a little bit more. Sorry for not posting we’ve been busy this last couple of weeks. The weeks coming up our baby will turn a year old and we would love to share that with you! We are almost halfway there to getting Trinidad a quadstick so if you would like to donate our cashapp and PayPal will be down below! My boyfriend’s best friend is a quad and it took years before he became as functional as he is. I think Trinidad is doing great!!!! Keep up the good, hard work!!!! Thanks for reliving that horrible time and sharing with us! I humbly appreciate it!
Exactly. I'm a C4 - C6 incomplete and it took me over 3 years to get any real function back...I too had a LOT of spinal cord swelling.

I'm not sure what you're saying here Cheryl. The ones who have HAD spinal cord injuries (especially higher level ones) were just making sure he was using it before losing it. He has a family to grow old with. What is your level of injury? I'm a C4 incomplete here.
Wow!! I’m so shocked by your strength. Both of you are so emotionally grounded after such a short amount of time. You guys are both extremely good looking people. Have you guys ever thought about getting in touch with advocates of seatbelt safety and doing promos or commercials. You guys could probably even get in touch with local news stations and do advocate slots.Which would also allow you to advertise a go fund me page and help you guys out financially.

Happy birthday to you and to the baby. I got married when I was very young and also had my first child soon afterward and that in itself is a lot to go through and then to have the accident, his SCI and recovery added to that blows my mind. You all cope so well and you are an inspiration. I also am recovering from a SCI so I can relate on some level. Thanks for sharing a glimpse into your lives.

I don't think it was anyone's intention for anyone to think Trinidad was not trying. Spinal cord injuries are a horrible thing. I know all I ever meant to portray and get across was that if he didn't try hard, he just wouldn't get ANYTHING back. I have seen that happen in people and I certainly wished people would have given me the kick in the pants I needed. I know of people, for instance who have wrists that will not move because they didn't bother moving them up and down and the tendons or whatever stretched out. You (teenage mom) are incredibly loyal and helping your baby along, you AND a quad. You have A LOT on your plate and I also never knew the complete story so now sympathize more. He actually had movement...but then lost it during the surgery? That is horrible...I can't even imagine.
Oh, thanks for reminding me...have you gone through quadtools.com regarding a reacher? If you look at their website, you will see where they need wrist measurements and forearm measurements and a couple of others and they make them custom made to fit your specific wrist and arm.
Oh, if he does indeed want more hand and arm movement, they have 'quad knob' push rims for manual wheelchairs. They are also called 'projection rims'...living spinal is one of the groups that sell them and they charge a bit, but they also donate a bit to spinal cord injury research. I seriously recommend the 12 vertical ones.
I think we were trying to get across that there is a big community and help out there from your peers, which is why we suggest so many things you can look into doing, as we have been through the SCI journey and have similar levels of injury so want to show you where you can get to without help from physio, lack of money etc......we’re a very supportive community 👍🏾👍🏾

Is that your neurological level of injury or the level where you broke it at C 3/4.....? Complete or incomplete injury?

You should do a video talking about the crazy hallucinations/dreams. Or if you had an NDE, or something like that. That will make it interesting. And keep the video between 10-11 minutes. Remember, people tend to have short attention spans. Keep a paper near you, with the main points you want to talk about. That way, you stay on point.
