THANK YOU!! I just switched from Lightroom to Capture One and I’m going through all of your videos now. This is tremendously helpful (and your photos are amazing!).
Excellent video! You get right to the point, and this is the best "How to get started with Capture 1" video that I've watched. Great work; thank you for this!
You have done a beautiful job producing this video. It’s the most informative, well organized video I have seen on this software. The only thing I would add are closeups of the menus. Even when I push to full frame, the menus are so small, I can’t see exactly what they include as you make your selections. But this is just great. And I appreciate the reshoot for perfect hair.
I had no idea that Capture One was so customisable. The hardest part about switching to Capture One for me is combating the muscle memory I built for a lightroom workflow but now that I know I can customise everything to a point where It makes sense.
Yea, it takes a bit of practice but when you've put in a few days it becomes super easy. not to mention, the app itself is super fast. Thanks for watching!
I absolutely loved this video and looking to see more videos of yours. I´m new to Fujifilm (just got the X-S10), new to RAW processing and new to Capture One. You gave me a really good start with all your settings which I implemented. Now I'm looking for the 5 min. videos you mentioned and hopefully more beginner videos for both using Capture 1 and using Fujifilm cameras. Can you point out (or attach a link) where to find them? Thank you.
Capture One for two days now. The demo. It saves. For now, with 20 years of Photoshop behind me, I want to use Capture One to import my Fuji raw files, and then output them as the highest rez tiffs to work them in Photoshop. At the moment, I'm not aware of Capture having Fuji simulation presets to apply like Lightroom, which does appeal to me. But importing and exporting Fuji raw has had issues about artifacts being introduced, and settings can be modified by not adding sharpness, etc., during import. So, I don't see anyone talking about import settings with Capture, or export settings beyond just choosing the type of export.. Am I missing something?
I don’t think I quite follow all the questions here, you can apply film simulation curves under Base Characteristics tool. You can right click an image to Edit In Photoshop and it will create the hi-res TIFF to keep things contained in Capture One as much as possible. I would review your export settings as well. Good luck!
Soooo you can't just open files from their original storage folder location without copying those physical image files to a new folder when importing? When you save these imported files with edits does it not override the original files imported; but instead saves to the copy? Basically I will need twice the storage space to use this application to edit my photos, then copy the photos back to the original storage location once edits are saved to RAW files in the copied folder..?
No Brad, this is only if you use Sessions. If you would rather keep all your images in one place and just reference them you can create a Catalog (like a Lightroom library). I made a 5 min video specifically on this if you’re interested. Hope this helps!
Where is the link to your video on Catalogs & Sessions that you mention in the start of this tutorial? I'd like to watch it but could not find it in a search here. Thanks
Hi, you did a great explaination where i was stuck. So lucky to have you explained. It's really good for me, but if the sound was louder, it would be perfect
Thank you for this tutorial. It's always nice to see how people use programs differently. By the way... that one grey hair on your chin was really distracting. You'll have to reshoot this one more time. 😂
Great contents Gajan. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. I bought C1 version 12 and I haven’t use it yet but I want to start shooting tether using C1 and follow along. I’ve been using lightroom since the very first version till now . I shoot mostly weddings and portraits.Would you mind making a video about that if it’s not too much to ask? Thanks.
Can you please help me? I created my own workspace, but after I save it, I don't see it anymore. I pretty much followed your instruction. When I go to window and I click my workspace name that I created, nothing comes out. Please help.
I needed this! Gonna watch when I get back home from work. Like in advance! Every time I try to start learning Capture One I get frustrated because it’s confusing compared with Luminar. Hope it will go well this time. Thanks for the video ❤️
I think so! I really look to slow the process down for viewers here. This video along with the 5-minute tutorials (as needed) should be a great starter. Thanks for watching!
Didn't watch yet BUT thank you already. Switched from Express to the full version like a week ago (found a rebate that put COP21 at the price before the massive increase) to get things like layers, dehaze and healing. Hopefully we'll get more guide for people who want to dive into Capture One.
Great video... I'm still on Adobe's "subscribe" platform :-(. My question is that I shoot in the field on a Sony, then bring the shots into my iPad and edit in Lightroom mobile. I know Capture One will have an iPad app in 2022, but in the meantime, how do you edit in the field without Capture one, or do you always take your notebook?
Super helpful video! Do you know is there a way to export DNG’s while maintaining the edits and ratings? For some reason mine do not seem to copy over. My dng’s all come out with a heavy pink hue. 🤷🏼♂️
I mean, you could import the RAW files from a Session but no, a Session cannot sit nested in a Catalog from what I recall. You can create albums though. Hope this helps!
I really got a lot out of this video. I am new to Capture One so it really helped. I was unable to move the pictures after tagging them, Gajan tagged pictures red, then moved them to the viewer, then to the selects folder. I could not figure out how to do this. I was able to tag pictures but was not able to have all the tagged pictures show up in the viewer so I had to drag each one from the right side of the screen to the capture folder so I missed how to do this in the way that Gajan did it, any suggestions? Thanks
Everyone loved this video. Very good info but was a bit too fast for me. I’m having to stop and start…rewind and then start all over again! Ugh! I wish I know how to slow the tutorial down a bit. It’s obviously not you, it’s me.

Thank you David, enjoy the journey ✌🏾
I love your concise, informative videos
Really helpful tutorial, Gajan. Thank you!
This was so wonderful thank you! I will take a look at your other videos.

thx for the video, really helpfull. Just getting started with the pro version of C1
Very clear and informative for new user like me. thank you Sir.

@@GajanBalan FYI, because of your video, I’m ready to take the leap to use C1 21.
Thanks man great tutorial
This was very helpful, thanks!
My pleasure. Thanks for watching ✌🏾
One of the most useful videos I've ever watched. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great tutorials, I'll certainly stay tuned and watch more of your tutorials in the future.
I appreciate that. Thank you!

Of course, after searching TH-cam as soon as I post my question to you, your video appears in the column listing of various videos! LOL
Haha, all good. Here’s the playlist itself:

That's odd. I'd try re-installing the repeat the process. I had this issue with an early beta of Capture One but resolved itself soon after.

Hi. Where I can find a presets which You talk in this video? You say that you give us semething from Yours presets? Thanks
Thanks for bringing this up! I’ve updated the description with the link.
Great video! I use Lightroom because I like the UI better. But I also own Capture One....I need to take another look at it and get it setup properly!
You should!
You are doing the Lord's work, bro.
Haha, trying my best! Truly appreciate the support.
Are you able to export a frame from a video to save as a jpg?
Not with this but an app like Screen is really good at this videovillage.co/screen/

I always take my notebook but for larger productions ill bring the iPad and import via SD card for quick annotations.

can you add sessions to your catalog ?

great video. please share the styles :S

when I save it you don't see the options anymore

You can edit the Keyboard Shortcuts and make this easier. For example, CMD+J on Mac will move any selected photos to Selects. Hope this helps!
Thank you

Great video loads of help but your going to fast , when you changed the toolbar you didnt even tell us how you got there.
Right-click and Customize. Can also watch this video at 0.75 or 0.5 if it’s too fast.
This creator has only 35 thousand subscribers. What the f wrong with people. He has so many good contents on fuji film stuffs.
Haha, appreciate you 🙏🏾

23rd.

@@GajanBalan you are welcome. I enjoy your videoes.
to fast and its not step by step
You can slow down the video if needed
Thanks!
