    This was such a great informative vdo. Thank you. I am totally bewitched by aeonium bewitch but i havent had great succuess with them esp during our harsh summers. Today the take away point was that aeoniums like water. During summers i wld stop watering and they poor thing never saw another season. So this time i wl amend the soil mix has you have shown and also keep a vigilance during summer. I think they wld need some water esp as for 2,3 mths we have a constant temperature of 30-40 degrees celcius. I water al of them in the evening when its cooler.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been watering my Aeoniums on average once a week in summer when the soil dries up. I find that their growth is more temperature driven rather than the seasonal.

    What would be the best soil to pot Korean succulents in and how much to water it in that type of soil

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There is no specific care for Korean succulents. Korean succulents are succulents that are hybridized in Korea. With so many different species of succulents, the soil and watering requirements vary. You'd have to be specific in the name of the plant before I could answer your question.

    Hi Lizk. I am very fond of aeoniums and was thinking of buying one for a long time. Recently when I visited a hill station, found it growing in abundance on road side. And took some cuttings and some plants. But the place where I live, we never experience winter. And the temperature is always in the range of 22 to 36 degree Celsius. Above 30 most of the time. Will i be able to grow the plants. Can you give some tips?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว

      Winter will kill this plant if not placed in a protected area. It doesn't like frost or snow. If your season is wet and dry, then you can grow this plant in a bright shady spot to protect it from extreme summer heat.
      This plant originated from Canary Island in Spain which has a mild climate.

    • @akhilgangadharan3857

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Las suculentas que han sido cultivadas o hibridadas pueden mutar a una nueva forma o apariencia; como un aeonium verde que muta para tener rayas negras y verdes. Debido a diferentes condiciones o factores de crecimiento, pueden volver a su forma original. Por ejemplo, una planta abigarrada que volverá a ser no abigarrada si se cultiva al aire libre y recibe más luz solar o si se le administra una gran cantidad de fertilizante rico en nitrógeno. Gracias por mirar y que tengas un gran día.🥰

    I would love to see your different soil mixes , master, tropical etc when they are completely wet, picking them up and squeeze them and then see how they fall apart. Only because my available ingredients are different, even the decomposed granite I get is quite different from what you have access to. I think seeing how they behave wet and how long they dry out etc will help me determine if the components I have are giving me an appropriate mix. The Aeoniums are beautiful.

    I would like to know how often would you water them in different seasons?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As often as they need. That means, I let the soil dry up between watering. Because it all depends on where you are. Humidity plays a big factor and also the soil mixture and the type of pot used. Because that determines how soon the soil dries up. 🥰

    Beautiful ! For some reason I thought aeoniums were dormant in summer so I thought the best time to take cuttings would be when they’re growing again in winter ?

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There's only three weeks left for summer, and our temperature is on the 20's Celsius which is ideal temperature for growing Aeoniums. When Autumn comes, they're good and ready to grow more roots.
      I find that Aeonium goes dormant when it's too hot not because it's summer. If kept in a cooler place, they continue to grow even in summer. Please keep an eye for my next VLOG videos to show some aeonium growth comparison between shade and sun grown. Thanks for watching.

      Congrats, Brad! Good choice. She would have to be my favorite aeonium. I don't recommend putting it right under the grow light. They prefer temperatures between 50 to 77°F. Any colder or hotter, they go into dormancy. Thanks for watching and have a lovely weekend!🥰

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aeonium soil mix is more suitable or my Intermediate soil mix. Aeonium goes dormant when temperature goes over 25°C, so hold off on the watering. Only water when the soil gets really dry. Also best to keep them in bright protected from sun area in summer time.

    Lisk I have 5 different common aonieums which grow like weeds in SA but I purchased a small sunburst, mardi gras and an inferno they are now 12 months old and looked a bit healthier in autumn but now they are back to small sick looking specimens, should I just plant them in the ground.

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're dormant at the moment especially if they're given too much direct sunlight. If you don't get frost in your area, they can be planted in the ground and will grow much faster. Since they're in the state they're in right now, in your situation, I'd leave it till Autumn when the temperature is in their ideal condition (10 to low 20's Celsius).

      Could be a number of reasons. From fungus to infected cuts to insects and pest eating the roots. Not much one can do about except to "catch it early" and try and save some parts of the plant by removing and cutting infected area. In my experience, a lot of them with this affliction do recover and have produced a lot of babies for me.

    I put my aeonium direct sunlight and it died😞😞😞.How to take care of it I love aeonium❤

      I find that most Aeonium do best in bright shaded areas. Having a 50% UV shade cloth seems to work best in maintaining color and also keeping them growing even in summer.

      感谢收看。我自己做土壤混合物。该视频下方是我的不同土壤混合物的视频。
      我用我的 Master Succulent Soil Mix, Advance Soil Mix & Intermediate Soil Mix
      如果你不能制作它们,你可以使用植物苗圃的商业多汁土壤混合物。祝你好运

    Hi,Is this color natural or because of the addition of artificial colors with the water

      This is it's natural color depending on the location and the season. I don't use artificial coloring or dyes on my plants.

    I really want an aeonium pink witch but unfortunatelly in my country it's very expensive (between 60-120€), maybe one day...

      @@fakenamefakesurname5005 When I bought my first small cutting, it cost me $40 AUD which is around 26 Euro. The cluster in the video with 12 heads cost me a lot more.

    My pink witch got frozen and now it has no leaves; luckily stem is still alive

    • @GrowingSucculentswithLizK
      @GrowingSucculentswithLizK  ปีที่แล้ว

      I find that as long as there's a stem, they can still have a chance of growing new pups in Spring. Good luck!
