Some had to rely on Hongkong and foreign media instead. As a native speaker I think the Chinese government isn't honest about the death counts and isn't capable to settle already infected people. They are propaganda posts telling citizens beds and masks are being provided and staying at home is the better option, but the truth is there simply aren't enough resource and manpower, even some doctors and nurses have to wear old masks and gloves! Corona may not be as lethal as SARS however it's far more ambiguous and contagious, the incubation is longer and symptoms could be unnoticeable ranking from high fiber to just dry coughs. We had flights coming into the Toronto airport as recent as Wednesday. On one flight that day, a gentleman was showing symptoms before his flight left Wuhan, but no one said anything when the flight came in. He was admitted to hospital the next day and now public health is looking to check anyone who was sitting within 6 1/2 feet of his seat and any employees that came into contact with him on the plane.
